give it some flat shifting see if it slips, thatll soon show the problem :-)

Changing the final drive,,for a longer one?

lighter flywheel i take it

love to egg on ep3's, had an awesome "spirited drive" with one the other week. roll start, pulled cars on him in 3rd thanks to the longer legs,,,,he give up after that didn't look happy lol

Shorter final drive for acceleration then a longer ratio 5th for cruising on a run! Revs will actually sit a bit lower than on the OEM 5th gear.

That sounds like a good idea..

Although there would be a very large drop from 4th to 5th ???

Be bigger than before, may ask the man who's done it to get a decent answer!

I think it would only really be felt if you were still going for it at the top end of fourth .. With our standard lengths, fourth is FAST lol, think mine will pull nearly a ton in 3rd..

But reducing the FD, maybe you need to have the 4th - 5th .. dunno .. Will  be interesting

Just noticed it once really, and that was from right up in the revs in 4th, and it dropped out of the power, but that type of change is going to be pretty rare. :)

Thats what i was thiking ..

What FD are you running then? A teg?
