They WILL fit my car **sighs loudly**
  2. Nice wheels there people! By mentioning tyre/wheel sizes and modifications needed,, creates info that people like Roj can benefit from!! Good work troops!
  3. More pics the better! If you could add some wheel dimensions also, it would help me and others get a good buying guide for deciding on wheels!!
  4. There nice wheels! Thats exactly what im after....a thread with pics that helps me choose and also let's others see whats available also!
  5. I have bumped this thread as i feel that it could provide information to help people choose wheels (like myself). If we could include the following; Pictures Wheel make Size/Spec Tyre Sizes Any fitment issues I would like to have some kind of 'wheel bible' that members can look up and see what they like.
  6. Thanks for the info mate! Your car is really well put together and nohing to mental which is nice! I had x4 brand new 205/50/16 tyres on mine and didnt fancy purchasing new ones as that would add loads to my build. I had also up scaled UP my tyres from 40 profile to 50 to give better comfort!! I fully expected to get my arches rolled but widened would have been more of a headache for me!! I'm glad you have chosen to do this as the rewards are there to see! I'm just gutted that i don't have those wheels on mine as the alloys i have the now, let the car down somewhat! Keep up the good work!
  7. I had put the wheel (less tyre) on the car before hand and even that was sticking way out! Dinochips car looks like its not on crazy camber so was impressed when i saw someone else had put those wheels on! Wish it was mine but i was fed up with all the possible arch work etc! Dinochips car is lovely and deserved winner of COTM! More detailed info on wheel fitment/issues would really help others out though......
  8. How did you manage to fit them?!! My Grid V Rotas were 4 x 114.3 16" 8j ET+20 and they were HUGE! http://civic5.com/forum/index.php?/topic/7855-burbleboys-grid-v-project-now-got-pics/page-2
  9. Really like those wheels mate! I may consider them but arch work and money would make me cry! Can you please give us some more info on the wheels? Rota Grid/Drift? (had to read through all the posts to find those wheel dimensions!) I see you have had arch work done, do they still scrub? I had made a mistake with my rotas and maybe a good idea to post up wheel specs and fitment information to help others out?
  10. I have x4 new toyo proxes so i will be fixing rubbing problem with b bat!!!
  11. I have the older shape Accord alloys with an offset of +35 and 7j wide. The tyres are 205/50/16 which always scrub slightly on full slow lock. Not running any spacers but obviously the lower you go the more you are going to have slight problems....none of which i thought i would have! I want to keep it that ride height as i like it and the car does handle really well now! I will take my time with the baseball bat in the rear arches but if i crack the paint then i would have needed to repair them anyway if i had put it into a bodyshop! I only need a slight arch pull to clear the tyre wall so wont need to go full roll!
  12. It does get a bit disheartening when things constantly don't go your way. It can take the shine out of modifying. But then once everything is all sorted you soon forget....and the whole process starts again!
  13. Right i'm basically having a full moan so i can feel better! GRAB A CUPPA AND READ THIS.... Moan #1 My n/s/r caliper was siezed slightly as when under further inspection found the piston boot to have popped out again causing water ingress into the piston area. This is the second time i have fixed this so decided to buy a reconditoned one so that i have piece of mind when roadtrips and track time start later in summer! Anyway, ordered a caliper from euro car parts and took in an old caliper that i had lying around my hut as the old unit/surcharge. Fitted caliper but could not get a decent pedal. Bled the fecker 4 times and then bled all the brakes 'just in case'! Same result, a pedal that was poor and death if i had to stop quickly. I managed to free off my old caliper and had a decent pedal again. Points to the new caliper being faulty...which after swopping over and getting another new one, it turned out the new caliper was indeed faulty! Moan #2 I'm also having a nightmare setting up my suspension to stop scrubbing etc. On the -30mm Eibach springs and mgzs shocks the car didnt scrub over jumps or hard cornering but did scrub on slow full lock (due to wider tyres than factory). Because i have fitted coilovers i needed the geo sorted and to stop the scrubbing i now had. Here is the long story I first booked the car in to get a full geometry at a garage my pal works for who specialise in Hondas, they noticed that a steering end was seized so i asked them to replace that asap so the car can be set up properly. Re-booked for the following week to get that done. Got car back and it was scrubbed like mad. I was advise to raise it 10mm to stop problem. So raised car and re-booked to get steering end fitted and a free geo setup. I went to collect the car but it wasn't ready. End was fitted but geo was not done. Waited over an hour for that only for the guy to come and ask me how i want the car set up...i said a 'fast road setup' and no scrubbing. He basically body swerved any responsibility and asked ME to determine camber on all corners! Wtf? It was valentines night and also my dads birthday so had to make choices up quickly and go. I left the place and noticed the car still scrubbed on front (at least rears were fixed..no wonder at -2 camber eh?) Decided there and then to take it to my usual guy that owns Progrip in Falkirk. I took the car down to get advice before booking in and he looked at my car and measured ride height and noticed straight away that my n/s/f had settled more and was -8mm lower than the rest. That would have been impossible to correctly set up the car and he said they should have checked ride height first before starting any geo setup. Re-booked to get car done but it was a two week wait. All this time my car has been scrubbing on corners and handling like s**t. Raised the car another 5mm as advised and waiting for appointment. Finally got car in this week and he set it up great BUT the front and rear scrub again. Nae wonder i'm going feckin bald with all this hassle. He did advise me to either raise it further or get rear arches rolled and front inner plastic cut back! Feck this! I will cut front inner plastic away slightly as the scrubbing is rare. I have ordered a baseball bat from ebay (no seriously) to roll the rear arched myself. I looked up youtube and found that rather than buying rolling equipment people use a baseball bat and heat gun to roll the arches. There is a walk through on youtube and it looks simple. If it goes wrong then i would have needed my arches done anyway! Why don't i just raise the car i hear you ask? Because i'm a stubborn fecker and wont be defeated as i like the 'stance' i now have! Phew, my fingers hurt!!!

    Rear calipers

I'm just off the phone to Euro Car Parts and there selling calipers for £74 + vat each (that's with trade discount). But there's a £30 surcharge on top of that (but you get that back anyway). SUMMARY..... there's an initial outlay of £104 + vat per caliper to put it into perspective. Then get £30 back when old one returned!

If you don't have a wind back tool then a large plain screw driver does the same job OR get a pair of mole grips...cut a large washer in half and use the flat 'cut side' to wind the piston back. I have just noticed, this morning, that my n/s/r caliper is sticking as my alloy was rather warm compared to the other side after a thrashing on the way home from work! Damn it. I had all rear piston boots done a few months ago but as this thread pointed out...it could point to the handbrake lever bearing. Handy site this is!
  16. True True They will come out the woodwork after voting ends probably! Now that would be a travesty!
  17. Feck! I voted for huberts deck when should have been his mb6 as i didnt notice it on voting screen! Oops! Me bad!

Yes mate, when i done a piston boot that was torn, the piston screws out! The boot was fiddly tho
  19. Even without weddng mate...i would be hard pushed to justify the expense of doing those wide wheels. But i love the fact that someone has and i can drool over their work! Top stuff!
