Mr Brown's Project MB3- Front End Repair Underway
Mr Brown replied to Mr Brown's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
So as the new title suggests i have tinted the rear lights After i mentioned wanting tinted rear lights in a previous (thread or message) a very helpful friend named Knight linked me to a set being sold on Fleabay They wanted £9.99 postage so i placed a reasonable £15.00 bid as my limit they sold for £16.00 oh well (To be honest they were really black and prob not legal but looked awsome) So i had a snoop around wanting really dark but legal film and i happened across this spy film stuff which is legal I Shall Explain... This is said film on a roll Close up you can see how it works and why its still legal I am more than happy with the finished result although the pictures dont do it justice I got this stuff on using my mrs hairdryer a very flexable plastic spatula i actually removed the lights to do it but can easily be done on the car As i say pics do no justice as i can confidenly say there are no bubbles or blemishes at all except there are three points on out rear lights surfaces from where they were moulded and they pertrude slightly Close Up And a foot or so away And the further you walk away they go proper black will take some more pics later when it gets dark These were taken in Broad Daylight Going to do the headlights soon and when i get new ones the fogs as well -

Think we all say that we are not doing much as i did at beginning of my build thread nearly a year in from buying her and well the pictures say everything i have been infected with OCD ( obsessive Civic5 Disorder) and there is no know cure to man -
thats what happens here you see what others have and do, you want it, you end up doing it even though you can not really afford to keep spending money you have to

Never a truer word spoken or written indeed she will be close exterior wise then its onto interior and under bonnet dressing and also some tech stuff inside as well (but i shall say no more about that yet) Cool, its the same for me but I want a few performance mods (no more engine tuning as I'm happy with the performance and economy ) like lowering and a decent exhaust system.. Ditto mate suspention is a must im not gonna really touch the engine mainly cosmetics so it looks nicer under there and a back box was always bound to be on the cards -
LOL im loving the hush hush this is very funny seeing everone trying to guess what your doing to her

Never a truer word spoken or written indeed she will be close exterior wise then its onto interior and under bonnet dressing and also some tech stuff inside as well (but i shall say no more about that yet) Thanks boss yes she is def coming along nicely All i can think of was the quote (The exremely nice and helpfull dealer said) when i bought the car "It won't impress the neighbours but its a good car" . When i went to get her i went on the train and he drove five or six miles from his yard to pick me up in her he had not driven her since taking her in part ex (she was a car he previously sold to guy as a pre reg and he had her for all those years and part ex'ed her back) and he was suprised how well she drove and he even said if i did not want her he would drop me off back at the station, but for £500.00 notes she was a bargain. THE REST IS HISTORY 1"£££$££"! -

Yes mate got some that will do the job nicely. Hopefully getting front bumper sprayed within next couple of weeks so front lip can go on Ah man I can't wait to see it finally finished! Indeed im getting quite frustrated with the tatty frond end really letting her down. I was recommended a good cheap sprayer yesterday so going to pop in to see them in next few weeks they are not in my area they are from where i grew up about ten or so miles from me but my mum still lives there and i take her shopping every week so will pop in afterwards and get a price Then lip and mesh can go on it and i got new bumper fixings six or so months ago so all i will need to do is get new fogs (one of mine has no glass left from when i got her) spray grill surround and front will look finished -

Just got to order some pirates paint to spray grill surround (and rear chrome) and grill will be a good'en -

First things first here is a pic of grill with silver behind be gone And as title suggests the brace is on found some good nut and bolts for the job for outside fixings but going to do it wednesdsay on my day off as got to drill out holes, remove wheels to gain access to do up and get dirty but here are the pics of it looks pretty good Further away brace still looks good but not so much the rest under the bonnet Everbody Step To The Side Pretty happy with the way the brackets turned out As many of you eagle eyed modders will spot i had to tough up the brackets a bit as some scratching occured when fitting them i cheated and sprayed a bit of paint in the cap and used a tiny artist brush to touch up scratches It looks a bit untidy under the bonnet but thats because since owning her i have only jettted under there once not long after i got her because it was dirt city this is the first of many under bonnet dressing and mods to occur so do bare with me -
LOL MB3 so standard may go stainless later if funds allow

Just a little pre update I glossed the brackets today came out okay want the paint to proper hard so will be fitting later today While i had the paint out sorted another little niggle when i did the grill conversion because most of the plastic is removed from said grill you can now see parts of the bonnet through the mesh the bits that used to be obscured by the nasty plastic and as my car is silver it they really stood out Look One spanner four nuts later the grill was off a roll of masking tape and some newspaper a quick blast with the black gloss and metal be gone Will post pics later today (Monday) as will be inserting brace into said brackets only thing is my car does not have the holes for the back bolts as only a mb3 so will check if i got bolts to put in (if i can find the ones im thinking of they will be perfect) if so will drill holes and fit if not gonna put it in position with the suspention top nuts only as this will be fine untill i get appropriate bolts -

Thread - 12 x 1.5mm Cone / Seat - 60 degree tapered Cone / Seat Width - 20mm I believe these were the figures for my locking wheel nuts for my MB3 Somebody please correct me if these are wrong

Thats my vote done for you i hatch

whatever it was it is obvioulsly now disconnected so i see no reason why it should have been left I would check that there are no more foreign wires going somewhere else from it if not then removing it would be a good option Make sure that all the oem wires look correct after its more than likely that someting in that mess has crossed (the black wire hanging with bare wires did you take off or was it loose it may of been soldered to the burnt bit and come away causing a short)

Picking up some paint today (monday) to spray brackets so hopefully by wednesday it should be under the bonnet I had to swap the brackets yesterday to setup for the way round im having it so i took it ouside and placed it in position WOW im really loving it I like carbon but only on other peoples cars No really its not for me even though i think it looks really cool so i think the desicion has been made that the chrome shall go pirates Looks the best! that way round i think Totally agree mate So i primered the brackets today was raining so i made a srpay booth from the box my licence surround came in, took it upstairs shut myself in the bathroom, opened the windows, turned extractor fan on and pshhhh pshhhh pshhhh two grey brackets Hopefully it will not be raining or snowing this way wednesday so i can go outside and spray top coat (i made a spray booth from an old fridge freezer i need to bin ) Needs Must !!
