  1. Well she's home. And driving back home on the b-roads following the advice of staying under 2.5k revs and it looks like he's fitted the wrong sort of hybrid haha
  2. Yeah exactly. I'm really missing driving now lol. But it's doing me good. Been biking to work. And I think I'll stick to doing so as it will save the car some miles and save fuel lol
  3. Yeah it was. Only thing now that's left is cloning of the ecu which a tuning company said to him they managed to flash a file straight on. Pete thought he would try it on mine but doing it like that didn't work. So he's got to do it his usual way which is by opening up the ecu. But he said he's now got a huge job forging an rs so Mine is on hold a day or too. He said it will be 100% before Christmas though. I'm not going to complaina s the original window for the work before the crack was discovered was today. He's done amazing with how far he's gone on it. I can't wait to pick it up though. I'm having a hard time without boost in my life haha
  4. Pete messaged me last night. The car is done other than awaiting map which will be done on Monday. And Peter told me Thursday night progress will be slow from now on haha....
  5. More pics sent to me at midnight from Pete Here's certainly not messing about. Getting it done quick
  6. So heard off demon Pete about 20mins ago. Had a busy day and he's still at it...
  7. Well FroSTy had a visitor today. Not intentional but just someone I know going there for work. He took a couple of snaps. Said there where 3 areas in the garage with all my car parts in. Not hear about any updates from my tuner yet.
  8. Yeah I've been there myself with mates doing the engine conversion on my old saxo. As a hobby I can understand staying up until silly o'clock. But when it's your work and you do it day in day out.... I'd be locking up at 6 lol. Yes trying to get it all done for me before Christmas. Baring in mind he has to strip 2 engine blocks. Make one good one. Then put it all back together. Then continue with the hybrid tuning etc. Got his work cut out lol.
  9. So it's 8pm and just having a chat with my tuner. I then asked him if he has any spare time during all this if he can maybe take a pic or two for my progress threads. Straight away he sends me this... Then he says this... This guy is a true legend. How many company's would do this for a customer this late at night. But how dare he have a brew haha
  10. Some good news. The donor engine has had the head off and has been cleaned up and its crack free. So we have a donor block. As I said that engine has a knocking bottom end so now it's just a case of rebuilding with my cracked blocks internals. Fingers crossed now she's back for christmas
  11. Cheeras mate. Yeah it's a shame. But it's just one of them things. Block can be replaced at lease. It's just money I could have done with not spending this time of year but at least I do have the money to cover it. Do look forward to getting her home with the new source of power
  12. No one knows. I had a theory it's on how they are maintained and how they are driving (thrashing when cold and not letting it cool down before cutting engine). But I always let mine warm up before I drove it, let alone giving it beans, and after a drive I let it idle for a couple of mins before turning off. I now come to conclusion it's just pot luck. There's standard cars cracked. But then there's 600bhp cars that have been thrashed on track for several months and been fine. It really is strange. My tuner has said he's going to try get it back to me before Christmas. I know it's in good hands. Hes given me a good price. But looks like it will be a new year, with a new block, and new power
  13. Well not a good start The dreaded cracked liner... And a big one at that. So strange I had no symptoms. Anyways another block is lined up. Just have to take the head off it and see if that ones crack free and we will get the ball roaling on that. That engine has a knocking bottom end mind so we are going to use that block with all my internals. A cost I could have done without this time of year...
  14. Hmmmmm not sure yet. She will be on track one day. No plans as of yet though. Mine will already do an rs lol. Think mine needs some more handling mods before I'm confident enough to take on track. Needs polibushing and upgraded torque mount yet before I even bother I think.
  15. She already is haha. But yeah will be more so. I'm used to the power she is now so going to feel like a new car again. Can't wait to pick it up. Just worried today as they are taking the head off to do the block mod. Hopefully no cracked liners. Not had any symptoms but someone I know who went for block mod recently had no symptoms but found a crack. So fingers crossed mines all good...
  16. Oki doki. So nooooooo update whatsoever on the splitter or bonnet lock. However, big news on FroSTy's behalf. She is booked in for the hybrid turbo next Monday!!!!! I'm going to be lost without her for a week but at least I have my full work shift during that time which means I don't need to use a car so all good. So what is she in for.... Block mod to start with including new waterpump. Fitting of my hybrid turbo and manifold. Rs ecu cloning and wiring up of RS sensors. 650cc injectors. RS Revo stage 4 software. So can't wait to pick her up the following week. Also I'm getting a go pro tomorrow I think so expect a couple of videos before, and after lol
  17. Yeah I guess it could have been a lot worse. I'm surprised the splitter has lasted this long tbh. I do go careful with it though. Shame about the rat but that couldn't be helped. Just glad it will be an easy fix
  18. Oh yeah I didn't mention this. But before the bonnet latch decided to give in. The splitter took a hit. Going over the bypass on way to work doing about 60mph I seen something on my side of the road at the very last minute as it was foggy. I couldn't avoid it by going on the opposite side of road to go round it as there was a wagon coming. So had to close my eyes and hit it Didn't know what it was but yeah splitter took a bit of a beating. I can sort it though. On way home back over the bypass I almost hit it again as it had been flinged onto the other side. Either when I hit it or someone else has. Anyways on the way home I seen what it was and it was a huge rat. Like I said nothing major. Nothing a bit of a sand and paint won't sort. But car is depressing at the min. With the manifold gasket rattling. Splitter taken a hit. And the bonnet stuck shut. Nice time of year to be fixing things like this too eh.
  19. Bonnet catch failed on me today So instead of messing about and it braking again in a couple of months I'm doing the fiesta bonnet catch conversion. Was contemplating aero catches but want to keep the clean look. So fiesta catch it is...
  20. Now I know this is a Honda group but I know you are all a friendly bunch so after a bit of advise please. Just browsing random stuff threw the internet and came across a few things about turbo whistle. Now I remember that when I had my actuator fitted I got a loud whistle from the turbo. Due to more psi I thought it must be normal. Now a couple of weeks back a mate took a video of me overtaking him and you can hear the whistle very loud. Now reading a few things I'm just wondering if my whistle is normal. Or is there a possible boost leak? There's no loss of power or any symptoms. Just noise. https://youtu.be/UzhZlXHJQyg Opinions?
