  1. Balls! Hit something in the road while on my minimoon last week and put a hole in the petrol tank! Couldnt find a replacement locally so had to get towed home! Not great but sort of fun! I opted for for a cheap quick fix using putty, have left it for a day to fully harden, then put a can of petrol in, so far so good.
  2. Just wondering how you got on? I have 17x7 not sure on offset but mine rub the inner wing and limit the lock a bit, not ideal but no rubbing and no need to roll any arches!
  3. When I turn my air con on it gets cold but there is some hissing coming from the front passenger side. (Where the heater/air box is) Is this normal?
  4. Does anyone else get back pain from the sport seats? I'm not sure if it's the seats or the suspension, so I've decided it needs to come up a bit! I had a few hours to kill this afternoon so started trying to raise her up. I spent far too long scraping knuckles getting nowhere before deciding to pull the whole coilover out. Off the car it was easy! I removed the spring with a bit of backyard engineering, sit on the fork and you can undo the nut easily! Once I broke the lockring and adjustment ring free I cleaned up all the threads and covered them in copper grease! Everyone needs to use more copper grease!!
  5. NH614M is the paint code as far as I can tell, which is Titan Silver! has anyone got a good condition bonnet in the same silver?
  6. Seeing as the sun was out today I decided to connect the sub I had in the garage and give the car a proper clean! I gave the whole car a good wash, snow foamed and then used a clay bar on the whole car!! Half way through I wished I hadn't started! But the clay was turning brown and picking up all the tar spots so it was doing it's job! Finally finished claying, grabbed some compound for a few bad scuffs where there was red paint from my mates door! Then remembered after clay you have to wax so had to do all that! Pretty exhausting and my girl didn't even notice! Ha, oh well. im pretty happy with some of it considering its 16 years old now, although I photographed it's good side ideally I need new bumpers, bonnet, drivers door, drivers wing and wing mirror to be decent but it's a cheap run around, not a show car.
  7. Starting to think about exhausts again, having just replaced the whole lot with a standard system it's very quiet and boring! I think I'll just replace the backbox but ideally one that will bolt straight up (I can weld if I need to though but I would want to get a flange to do it properly) I don't want too much noise so 2-3" max on tail pipe size. what other Honda backbox would fit? To make finding something easier
  8. I started reading this about a week ago, gutted to reach the end and the car is now gone al least you had a few good years! I'd be interested in a few panels if you weren't so far away from Hampshire!
  9. Seats turned up this morning! Not quite as good as advertised (small hole in the fabric) but still a vast improvement over the shrunken leather one! Here ladies and gents is why you need to look after your leather!
  10. Update on the seat, I believe it's shrunken due to some water/sun damage, asked on FB group and have been offered a pair of front seats from a low mileage mb for £20 so getting them on Monday! So, who can tell me what silver my car is, Halfrauds have a few different silvers. Satin Silver Noble Silver Blade Silver Vogue Silver
  11. Bargain! I paid £5.89 delivered! Lol not worth getting the soldering iron out really lol
  12. I was going to replace with ceramic resistors but wasn't sure on what resistance I needed so took the easy option, I will check the resistance so I know for future reference if it does break again
  13. That picture is after I attempted twisting it back together last week! They were completely broken and separate before
  14. I had 5 minutes free on my lunch today so decided to sort out my heater. new resistor was ordered off eBay for under £10. pull glovebox forward, unscrew the two screws holding the resistor and unclip the plug. Fit new and put it all back together. new vs old
  15. Yeah I tried really hard to twist it off but it might have to be a screwdriver through job!
  16. Can someone tell me what is going on with my passenger seat?! the panel on either side is rock hard and looks to have shrunk
  17. Hmm, maybe I'll try again to undo it, trouble is I don't think I'll be able to undo it without destroying it then I'm stuck! How much oil will come out removing the filter do you recon? I guess most will be down in the sump, guess I could do new oil again while I'm there.
  18. That mb3 looks familiar! Is that when Ricky bought it? Andover is a small place! You know James Dunlop as well! Lol was confused when you said you'd sold the mb2 but glad you got it back! Love it!
  19. Couldn't get it off to take a comparison picture but it's noticeably larger diameter and not as long, I did go back and ask if there were two options for the d15 and they said that's the only one, still thinking they picked the wrong part up off the shelf.
  20. Haha yeah pretty busy! Oh I also changed the cabin filter for the sake of a few quid, not sure it's ever been changed. Que before and after picture. Oh, also had the classic heater issue so I've got a new heater resistor to go in. I noticed this morning that I have a bit of a drip behind the glove box which I assume is coming by the cabin filter. Not good.
  21. I had a look around but went for a standard system for the time being as it was on the shelf at my parts place, spent last weekend fitting that and fixing the sticking calliper. the standard exhaust is so so quiet!! I'm also now catching the centre box getting into my parking space which sucks! To fix the front calliper I took it off, pumped the brake to push the piston out, clamped the hose then pulled the piston out completely. Note that brake fluid will go everywhere so have a tub of some kind to catch it and make sure you clamp the hose! Check the piston for rust, mine had a tiny bit that wiped off with a wire brush but the main issue was inside the calliper just after the square rubber seal there was some rust, wire brush that away and then clean the whole area. this should fix any sticking brake issues (providing your sliders are ok) A great tip I found for getting the rubber boot back over the piston is to loosen the bleed nipple and put a car tyre foot pump or bike pump over the nipple. You can then pump the rubber seal out and it will pop over the piston
  22. Changed the front pads and sprayed wd40 on all the bleed nipples as they were very tight and I didn't want to risk snapping then without replacements at hand (so ordered some, fronts I know 100% are m10x1 thread if anyone needs to know) The next week was my MOT which I failed on the drivers side brake binding (I knew it was slightly but was worse than I thought) and the exhaust had a couple of big blows in it as it was generally a bit bodged!
  23. So, because I knew I hadn't had an oil change in the past year I thought it best to do that next and it also needed new pads on the front. So bought: oil, oil filter, pads and new brake fluid (because people don't seem to change it as often as they should and the brakes were a little soft) got the car in the air and dumped the nice black oil out, went to change the filter and found my first issue; the replacement was different to what is on the car!? This was good Friday so my parts guy was closed all weekend! b****r! I also couldn't get the filter off! So I thought I will just leave it alone for the min until I have the right filter and filled back up with nice fresh oil. here is a picture of the filter on the car if anyone knows what type I need (the replacement I got is a bigger diameter and shorter)
