scottravenhill
Alright guys well its finally time to replace that cambelt. Been puttin it off for ages, got my belt , aux belt and rocker gasket on order from John banks, I know I should really do the water pump at the same time but I think I'm gona leave that for now, I check my coolant regularly so should spot any problems in good time. Just hope it doesn't break on removal. Do you think I should get a new cam end seal aswell as I didn't think about this till after ordering. Cheers guys. scottravenhill
Yeah in my job we always do the pump on company cars but I'm only paying 50 quid labour anyways so it really makes no difference if I need it one day. Sadly though I am looking at getting a new car this year. The mb6 is getting plagued with rust and I'm not gona try to start to fight it.

KiNK43
Yes its a massive shame its a lovely car. I've seen the rust and your right its gonna start costing to put it right and probably just come back. Sad times! What you looking at getting?
scottravenhill
I wana stay around the same power and economy, dont think I could afford to run anything juicier. theres a possibility I might get another mb, but I'll probably end up with the same rust problems. I do really love the car and have spent a fair bit on her, and would love to keep her. Ive gotta wait for some money to come through so wont be for a few months yet anyway. I think I need something a lot newer thats not a rusty boneshaker!
