johngreen537
Cant make it out that well mate but i am on a laptop which doesn't have the best sound. Can you tell roughly where its coming from (engine, gearbox, exhaust etc)Sounds like it might be coming from the engine bay mate, the noise sounds like a exhaust blowing ish!EXACTLY 2000 revs though! I'm hoping along the lines of a dodgey gasket in the exhaust manifold, and 2k just the pressure it can cope with before blowing out! Hard to here in the engine bay though.... Gets loud in there when your head in it and revs on

jalesi2001
I cant really hear it that well either, but I do have the same model laptop as blacksport!!! Its aint something silly like the top cover rattling against the inlet manifold is it? Thry taking it off and re-trying!
johngreen537
Tried that mate. Still makes noise when it's off. Sounds really deep, kinda like an exhaust blow.My mrs just said, sound like an engine, like she couldn't hear it. But she's a woman, so didn't really take much notice The difference between 1900 rpm and 2000 rpm is like a standard intake against a AEM! I've just done the air filter, oil, gear oil, oil filter, etc etc etc, which is probably why I'm hearing it, as it's a little quieter than it was! TBH, I'm probably just being over cautious.... Just can't think what would possibly happen at 2k rpm to make any noise difference! No ECL codes thrown, Jumpered the wires and no codes in memory either!Problem is, I've hear it now, so I'm ALWAYS gonna be listening for it! civicturbo79
I would say the same as you john it sounds like below 2000 rpm you are on a standard air box and on 2000 rpm and above you have a sports filter on , thats a strange one . do you know anyone else with a ep3 it just could be the way they are . Rich.
beastgtir
its a shield of some sort, think its either the exhaust cat shield, or the driveshaft heatshield.maybe even the i-vtec cover making the noise.or your exhaust could have a blow or the airbox has the hondata mod?list is endless lol
beastgtir
i wouldnt put it past the cambelt tensioner, they arent the best on the ep3 on some cars.
