dr_broon Posted February 13, 2012 Share Posted February 13, 2012 tbh I noticed the difference going back to my 15" alloys with the winter tyres on... seems much more ready to change speed (but not better tyres).best way to understand the difference rotational mass makes is on a (pedal) bike - getting up to speed with some lightweight wheels is loads easier than with a heavyweight set (more than if you just had the extra weight on the bike). KiNK43 Posted February 17, 2012 Share Posted February 17, 2012 more weight on the outside of the wheel is bound to make a small difference. i notice it when bmxing. if i use thorn proof innertubes the bike feels sluggish. switch back to normal and its like youve filled the tyres with helium!
