domandmel
right guys, as the title suggests, i have started the JDMing of my rear lights.i didnt finish it because i havent got any bulbs from work yet!, plus my camera battery ran out so havent got all the final pics. but this is how i did it. i found it surprisingly easy once i got stuck in and could physically see all the wires and what i needed to do to them all!so this is the back of the N/S rear cluster, and you can see the blanked off hole for the new bulb holder after drilling some holes around the outline of the hole, i was surprised to find that the whole thing pulled out with a pair of pliers and left the hole in perfect condition for the bulb holder to fit so this is the back of the O/S light, and you can see the brown holder which is the fog light bulb. removed the fog light holder, and installed my new bulb holder in its place, and as in 1.8vti`s second revision JDM light sticky thread, i spliced the orginal red/white fog light wire into my new green/white wire on the new bulb holder (this is now the new fog light). then all i did was splice the black wire to black wire (earth) and red wire to red wire (side light) the N/S is basically the same, red to red, black to black....this time tho i ran a wire from the green/white wire on my new bulb holder, through a gap in the rear panel, under the rear bumper to the other side, and spliced it into the green/white wire on the other side of the car. my top tip tho, make sure you get as much length on the new bulb holders as possible!!i cant show the results yet as i havent got the bulbs yet, but once i have i will get some more pics of the install and the finished light setup. so until next time....Dom
WilkesyMB6
Good work mate, i keep thinking about doing this mod. Where did you get the bulb holder from? Ebay or breakers etc...
domandmel
robbed them from a breakers. literally just cut off the holders i wanted. most the ones on ebay are the whole light cluster loom, and they want like a tenner per side!
