GreenVTi991
I bought my civic mb6 b18c4 with the exhaust already on it. It's got the above manifold which the previous owner said was from an integra. Although it fits, it is touching the sump. Is this normal? The exhaust sounds very boomy from the front - could this be caused by it touching the sump?I'm not sure I want to keep the manifold anyway as its split a weld again. Are the Japspeed 4-2-1 manifolds any good?
noodels
you need to see why is cracking tbh has it got the suport bracket fitted to chassis?welding a brace to it will help and needs to be welded with mig/tig,and not gas weldedtake it to someone who knows how to correctly sort it ect if its fowling sump could tweek it with a hammer if you are thinkng of a new one a hytec try-y 4-2--2-1/toda 4-2-1 ect would be v/good and would see gains over 4-1japspeed 4-2-1 £180 or can get these no name ones£130 ish, will discolour thin and not as good Q as what you have atm.£300 will get you a v/good mani for good.. GreenVTi991
So 4-1 aren't as good as 4-2-1?It did cross my mind to adjust it with a hammer but prob would do more damage than fix it!Yes it has got a support bracket but I'm guessing its designed to fit an integra.I will have a look at the manifolds you've suggested coz I think replacing it'll be better than keeping taking it back to my local exhaust specialists to get it fixed. GreenVTi991
Here's a few pics of the inlet:I've no idea why the black coating has been wire brushed off the cam cover! What is meant to be connected to the two pipes under the throttle body?Side viewFront view
weetec
strangely enough that does look like a integra manifold is that the original B18C4 head or has someone changed it the manifold touching the sump is not a good thing. they are tight anyway. this heat will cook the oil in the engine. the B18 are slightly higher than the B16 which may suggest the mani's from a b16 but its no good for you. i recommend its changed or as noodle says twat it to clear the sump.the two pipes pictured looks like a coolant bypass has been carried out. this basically stops the throttle plate from freezing.hope this helps.
