Shadz-VTIs
i havent got axle stands.. havent been underneath my car... under the bumpers yes. ..i always put my old alloys next to where its jacked just incase the jack fails...i wouldnt risk going underneath. even with jack stands ive seen jack stands fail to!!! .. my next door neighbours husband died while he was working on the car underneath.. car dropped on him!!!not long ago changing the wheel on my cousins mercedes because of a flat tyre... the car fell off the jack good thing there was 4 of us.. stopped the car from hitting the ground... mangaged to get it up! anything could happen not worth the risk
EmZvr
I'm not defending anyhing but I just wanted to post an interesting video in response to the one posted by James. In fact in crisis we are all able to lift even more than 500kg. Well of course a car is a lot more than that.Start the video from 7:55Z0nbzkWoFGU
fyfie5
have you ever been under a car and though "what would it feel like if this car falls on me right now" while looking up at the gear box or chassis an inch above you forehead .....this!! omg it scares me to think about it even when i have axle stands holding the car up! philgor
i got a flat tyre on the way to work a couple of year's back N/S/R i think it was, so out came the spare wheel and the jack, did the wheel change in 5 minuite's flat, the best bit was getting it off the jack, just rolled it off the jack couldn't give a damn about the car t'was scraped by the end of the week. Krzys
; spinning your wheels in pit lane, drive through penalty Unlucky Phil! I use axle stands but leave the jack just mm's shy of the car too, you never know, it could give you the extra fraction of a second to escape!
