onejdmcivic1984 Posted February 16, 2014 Share Posted February 16, 2014 As above do i -- check dipstick when car is cold and hasnt been running (e.g. in last 10hrs) - drive for few mins till engine temp is where it should be then switch off engine,leave for 5mins then check? Heard others say when up to temp lol. I usually check after ive slapped about 50 quid of fuel in so its up to temp but had a couple of mins to settle down. yellowUmberella Posted February 16, 2014 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Jack worked at a place for a while as a tech and he was always told (which he told me!) to let it cool down because if you overfill it while all the oils in the engine rather than the sump your going to blow the seals?
