0 Dave
infact, scrub that! Best bet is to download our manual and look at the exploded diagram of the heating system, that will give you a better idea of what parts may be at fault mate

0 feck_on_a_stick
Mine has gone like this as well, but screetches at all speeds. I'd changed the pollen filter a few months ago and also bough a new resistor. I just need to find some time over the next few weeks to take a closer look. I take it the heater blower is just behind the glove box below the resistor?

Luckily I was just setting of from home, and had a screw driver in the car to disconnect the motor.
0 feck_on_a_stick
Jeez! That's worrying!
0 dr_broon
think that the bearings must have been on the way and the motor burned itself out... stunk the car out something rotten.
0 Butcher
Mine makes a lot of noise, but I think it blows all the air outside. Very little of it seems to make it into the car
0 dr_broon
A while back someone was looking into using a different blower motor... Not sure who it was though. Maybe @Didjeridave?
0 Didjeridave
Yeah, fitted a variable resistor in place of the regular four position dial & hooked up a £17 motor controller. That all worked fine. Bit of an effort for what it was worth, but finally solved the blowing wires. Can't say I ever got round to the faster motor, with it all functioning well enough, there just wasn't enough value in doing it!
