It depends on the head unit. I know that some old Pioneer Head units are easy to hack. They have a 3.5mm jack input for audio controls and you only need a combination of resistance value for each button (vol up, down etc). Some others as JVC are more complicated as they need pulse modulation so you need to find or hack the code from remote control with reverse engineering. I dont know about new head units we have to do some search.. First of all you need to mount some switches on your wheel.and get or retrofit (if it's possible) the cable reel so that you can get 2 extra wires from it. That's what I am also searching for :)

I only want the CCswitch that match with the steering wheel if there is one and the cable reel with CC plug . All the other work is easy. Here is the audio controls that I have made in my last EK on s2000 ap1 steering wheel. All working for 10+years with no problem https://youtu.be/SSzox1OZ3PA?si=Zfc2L2NkCiWYsWUU

Hello Dave, thanks for your reply. I don't want to add CC on my civic. I want to use the CC steering wheel switch and through the cable reel to add radio controls. I did it on my last EK civic with success, but I have to know if there is a CC switch that matches on ma9 steering wheel, and of course if there is a cable reel with CC. If not, is it possible to retrofit the cable reel and terminate 2 extra wires?

Hello everyone. I'm bringing this old topic back on top. Does anyone know if there is a cable reel for ma9(or Rover that matches) with cruise control cables in it? Must have one plug for the horn, one for the airbag and one for the CC. And what cruise control switch match with the ma9 steering wheel? Do we have any part codes?

Hi guys. Ι want to improve my AC performance. Changed my AC compressor and the receiver, ok it works but at 40°C it cannot work properly. My mechanic says that the a/c condenser is small that's why the cooling capability is low... a bigger condenser cannot be installed due to small room in the engine bay. I found that Rover 400 has double sized a/c condenser and radiator installed both together and not separated as in civic mb's. Is it possible to install rover's condenser and radiator in mb/ma engine bay? Here are the rover parts I'm talking about.

Thank you Dave! The problem is that I cannot find spare parts. I have to check every junkyard. Anyway. I wish I had joined earlier the forum to buy your DD console:D Looks great i'm not so good in sanding and painting but I will try to make one too. If there is any other availiable DD console left I'm very interested !! You mean the Aerodeck service manual? I have the 95-97 5d hatch service manual, but broken into many many pieces and has no index. If it is useful for anyone let me know. 👍

Thank you guys. I'll try to make a topic of the work in the car I've made so far and all the work I want to do. @SirPaperbag The fog lights are not factory ones but some cheep chinese. I found the originals , bought them but I think the front bumber is an aftermarket bumber so I have to cut the whole thing in there to fit the original factory fog lights. Lots of work has to be made generally and have no time. Nevermind whenever I find some free time I will do it. The grille is handmade, I tried to fit the H emblem from my previous EK civic, but it's too big :( Only the small H emblem of the pre-facelift fits. By the way the car was imported from Germany, as the user manual of the car is in German :D

Hello to everyone. my name is George and I come from Greece. Happy to be in here, looking forward to find some useful infos. I hope forum is still alive I can understand that M's are very old and rare nowadays. Special thanks to Dave for approving my registration! After 20 years of owning an 99 EK Civic 1.6 Vti, I had an accident, an unlucky event I would say and decided to buy something different. So I bought a CIvic MA9 1.5. I always said that these Civics are unique and different from others! So I'm an old newbie we can say! My new Civic is not in good condition, until now many problems in the interior, some on the engine bay and on the chassis...but I will try to do my best to maintain the car. Here are some photos Thanks for the hospitality!
