Perhaps that's why they got confused. -

Burbleboy's VTi-S Build **NOW SOLD 16/12/15**
NIKH25 replied to burbleboy's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
Really frustrating mate, you should be able to go and get the geo set up with an idea of how you want it to look and they should be able to tell you how it can be achieved and then go about doing it otherwise why are you paying them? The wheels are 7x16 aren't they? Are you running spacers? If not what offset are the wheels? From looking at the pics on the previous page yours looks a bit lower than mine at the rear but about the same on the front and I get no scrubbing at all. Hope you get this sorted. -
x2, worth getting 2 tins, it's always better to have too much than not enough.
-
Maybe. Certainly have a look and see if they're split, if not, I wouldn't bother emailing them. As you've only just noticed it it'll be fine for a good while yet but the sooner it's done the better as it will put stress on the other components eventually.

That's even worse, I assume you've told them you'll be shopping elsewhere and advising all your friends on the several forums that you're a member of. -
Yes but it's only the boots, if they've split and caused the cv joint to wear prematurely then you'll have a case, if not then it's like I said, grit that got in when they were split and they won't entertain that.

That's terrible, they should be going out of their way to sort it out. -
I don't honestly know, I've never used Halfrauds paint mixing but I don't completely trust them. Halfrauds 300ml is £12.99 or 500ml £14.99, these are £11.99 for 400ml but plus £3.49 delivery, so slightly more expensive but for me it's worth paying the extra, colour match is spot on.

Annoying but it's possible that they'd been split for a while before they were replaced and some crap got in there and has now worn the bearings.

How cool is that? B) -
Don't get disheartened, it's just wear and tear, you have to expect stuff like that when they get to this age and a garage should be able to diagnose it for you. And it could be worse, imagine if you'd bought a sh1tron.

Yes, European launch probably spring next year, this is a concept though so it probably won't look exactly like that, arches added rather than part of the bodywork, 19" rims with 20" as an option, I like this quote though;

You really need to find out if it's inner or outer, I can't remember how you tell though. If it's outer, you can get the cv kit I linked, if it's inner you'll need the shaft I'm afraid, just checked and it's only £30 for the shaft so it will be worth getting that if you can't find someone to check it for you. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CIVIC-1-5-DRIVESHAFT-NEAR-SIDE-NEW-95-2000-/130369266112?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e5a9d21c0

That looks spankingly clean mate, fogs look good too.
-
Shame, here's the kit you need: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CIVIC-DRIVESHAFT-CV-JOINT-BRAND-NEW-90-01-/140887484344?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20cd8c67b8 As Mr B says it shouldn't be more than an hours labour, don't forget when you get quotes to say you'll be supplying the parts. Did you do the test Krzys suggested?
-
That's the one, knew you'd have quick access to it.

They are about but few and far between, I've been trying to find the pic of the Mk1 wagon with a B18 that Tom was referring to, can't find it though. Tooooooom!!
-
A sledgehammer is ever so satisfying though.

Thanks for that, I really want to go home now.

You'll definitely need a hammer. Try j&r on eBay for the cv kit, good price.
-
Too late, it's all gone, time to get another one on the go I think.

Basically yes. The 98 spec one is s/steel and is reported to give excellent results often much better than aftermarket manifolds. The 96 spec is cast, the same as ours but is also apparently better but nowhere near as sought after or expensive. They both have larger collectors though so you will need a decat or sports cat.
