A post script note to the above, just had a quick look on ebay for lpg cars the first one I looked at (a Subaru) done 51k qnd had valve seat recession problems! Hmmm swerve them then!

Been looking at jap diesels, most accord cdti's seem to suffer quite major problems, was thinking Almera 2.2 dci (136ps), meant to be quite a good engine but pretty bland looking car I did have a 4.0 v8 discovery once, that was lpg, i actually used to find power dropped a bit using lpg but was good saving on fuel in those days. Ive heard the price of lpg gone up alot since then so not so good. Also my mechanic says hes done a few valve seat jobs on various lpg converts, although I know you can get a autolube system meant to help with this

Well so far so good Dave, the front grill will be the real test of time, but im lead to believe the adhesion is very good. They go mad for the stuff in the USA, even doing whole cars. The metalflake is awesome because you can just keep layering it til you get the right effect. The weekends here and a few days off so will try some bits. My girlfriends buying me a new fish tank for Christmas and want to spray the back black but am going to spray a light coat of too of flake first see if it gives a star in the sky effect! Couldnt part with the m Dave when I got a garage to store her in. And always good to have a back up car. Decided going to buy the odd turbo kit part on ebay if any bargains come up, when its all collated get it fitted. Cant really afford to do it in one hit but as they say most of the funs in the journey

Yeah I hear you MrB, i drove a avenis diesel its was shocking, sure newer ones are better but out my price range. Would have petrol every time over diesel but doing 500 plus miles a week not much choice! french? Hmmm did actually look on ebay at some renaults then my sanity quickly returned

Wouldnt worry about going backwards, the mbs are a lot more simple than modern machinery , less to go wrong, recently i bought a 05 mazda and it felt so 'fragile' compared to the m, cant really explain why. Dont reckon you would regret it and a modified black deck always a winner
