  1. Finally got the car out on the road last night. Needs a few more bits sorting to be perfect but feels so good to be back in a Honda properly.
  2. Yeh it's going to have to come off and something else will have to be used instead. Will probably work without the VTi-S lip as it does hold it down a little more and I'm not going to cut it about In order to make the box higher
  3. Got the car off the stands this afternoon, ground clearance is going to be an issue. Also got my H-tune ECU installed, so the car now has the correct map for the engine and launch control, also has a EML light for the ELD which is annoying but won't effect the running of the car.
  4. I've not been able to get my car off the stands yet but I'm pretty sure it's going to be to close to the ground. As long as it works I can get it around a mates unit and sort it on a ramp, custom fabricating an exhaust on axle stands is tricky.
  5. UPDATE: got it the HKS fitted, sits very low due to the angle on the back box but it should be okay. Also managed to get one of the advans painted, going to need alot more work down the road though due to corrosion under the powder coat.
  6. I'm hoping so, the gold just didn't really work with the black. Annoyingly I don't think I'm going to have them done for JDM Combe this year between finishing the car, having an 8week old baby and organising a club stand.
  7. The car did use to have a private plate on it, that owner fitted a few parts (MGZS rear ARB for one)
  8. Yeh I've still got the Advans, there 16x7 ET38 I believe. Currently being stripped so I can re finish them in the standard silver with the blue decals on the centre cap.
  9. Yeh the car was at a few shows over the past few years with the previous owner, ive only removed them to refurbish them to stock Advan colours then There going back on (I have 3 sets of SA3Rs) I'm on the look out for some standard turbines though to keep with the car. The C6 is a supe healthy engine so I was a no brainier to swap it in. The K24 from 4-piston is a fantastic engine but I'm going to a stock bottom end to start, K20a2 head with toda cams and ITBs.
  10. Hi guys and gals. Just thought I'd throw up a post about my latest acquisition, a 99 VTi-S Aerodeck. I used to own an 97 Aerodeck VTi In silver with the VTi-S kit that I loved and should't have sold, after 30+ Honda's it's still one of the top three. At the time of me getting my VTi another guy local to be bought this car, and he used it on and off for the few years he had it then parked it up when it developed a distributor fault and wouldn't start. She sat of the drive for the next nine months. When I heard she was going up for sale I went and got it as soon as I could, and I've since been trying my best to get her back to the condition she deserves to be in (with how many left saying there's only 32 of these left I think she should be pretty minty). When I first got her she's was in a pretty sorry state, having be parked for months in a hedge. After giving if a quick was it was down to the MOT station to get a health check. Annoyingly it didn't quite fill a page but was close, all typical Honda problems that I've fixed far to many times before. Got them all sorted and she flew through the next test. Since the MOT I've been going through the little niggles getting bits done (removing the light tints, sorting the rear plate recess, getting the stereo working) up until this past weekend when the B18C4 was removed. My one complaint of my previous MC2 was the power, she was always lacking in some grunt so seeing as I'm currently K24 swapping my track car (98 UKDM integra) I had a really healthy B18C6 and S80 spare. With a few friends we managed to get both engines out and the C6 fitted back into the 'deck and running in 7hours. Still have Jobs to do on her, I'm just starting the process of adapting a DC2 HKS silent Hi-power exhaust system to fit the car (B18C engine need 60mm exhaust systems to be at their full potential), have a mid wing currently being painted along with the front bumper and lip, and I have to get the sunroof retracting as it's currently only going back about an inch. While the headliner is out in also going to retrim it in black suede aswell as the pillar plastics. Ive added a few pics of the progress so far and I'll put some more up once I've got some more progress.
  11. Haven't updated in a while so thought I'd pop back and tell people how things are going. Reason for the long delay is I fell out of love with the car a little bit. The gearbox has basically decided it would rather arrange its gears in a more random way and done away with bearings in favour of swarf so that's making it a bit hard to drive nicely. Also all the brake callipers have started sticking so it feels really down on power for the first 10mins of driving while the brake warm up and unstick. Basically I'd had enough and nearly swapped it for another EG civic but I have seen the light (and the practical boot) and decided to lavish some time on the old MC2 to get her to her former glory. Starting with the brakes I have acquired some Honda Legend twin pots (that I am rebuilding as we speak), rear calliper re-build kits with S/S pistons and a set of HEL braided brake lines. Going to get some Motorsport DOT 5 brake fluid as well and get the stopping power up to scratch. Next is the hunt for a good gearbox in my price range. I'm budgeting £150 for a good 100K mileage S9B, £150 for a lightened flywheel and £150 for a decent stage 2 clutch. Finding it a tad difficult to find the parts in this budget but I'm getting there with help from Jack at JDM Regiment, a good mate of mine. Hopefully by the time the parts are sourced I can stretch to a set of energy suspension shifter bushes as well. After that's done she will be going to the body's hop to have the rear bumper, arches and bonnet sorted as they all need attention and new side decals will be added. Also hopefully some new wheels a d extra lows will be arriving soon, again with help from JDM Regiment. Here's a few pics to add a bit of visual stimulation, as that always make a build thread better in my opinion. Cheers for reading guys and gals
  12. Still haven't found the time to get the exhaust tip cut down but I did get a limited edition buddy club type A gearknob in black so much nicer to drive with!
  13. The twin loop simpily loops the exhaust back through the tail silencer to give a quieter system. Much better for road use and it's only a bit noisier than the OEM system but it's 2.5" dia (well mine is) and give a great boost to power and torque.
  14. I got the twin loop fitted today. It bloody started raining so I still have a few things to sort out, like cutting the mahooosively long tail pipe down 3", but it's on securely and not leaking. Also as a plus side its super quiet inside the car now and sounds epic! Like a DC2 Twin loop or spoon street system! Definetly need the RMF header now to finish the Exhaust system. I think the next mod will be to build a heat shield into the engine bay to stop the air filter from becoming to heat soaked. I don't want to enclose it as Iove the sound of the intake but It does sap power as it stands. And pictures of the twin loop will be up when I get the weather to cut the tip down.
  15. So what did you call her Haha, I could never say lol
  16. So what did you call her Twin loop looks awesome! I'm going to get my OEM wheels refurbed for the winter soon! They have better tyres so I trust them more for when the wet/icy weather comes! Will you have to get the RMF header from the states too? Yeh Ive got a good friend who lives in Washington though and that makes things easier. My OEM wheels have about £400 worth of tires on alone! Taking it as a good sign that the car was looked after.
  17. I'm becoming a student again. Wasted an oppertunity 2 years back and I've regretted it since, 4 long years ahead of me now but at the end of it I'll hopefully be a Civil engineer and it will all be worth it. I always hated boot spoilers when I was looking and aerodecks but now I have one I love it!! Also the postman bought me a present from america today, meet my new twin loop backbox I'm welding it on tomorrow night. Making the hanger will be interesting :-/ it seems to work though because I shouted through it at the wife and she said it was like a whisper.
  18. Do the chrome delete on the lights to tie it all together I'm going to do this next week if I get a free evening. I'm going back into education tomorrow so I'm going to have less free time.
  19. Yes they are, there a size to big. Although its had the effect Of making the speedo spot on. But this started tonight So the OEM winters will be back on while I save for 16" JDM Goodness, I'm leaning towards SSR type Cs ATM, 16x8 et30 with 205 45 16 T1Rs
  20. Loving the colour on this 'deck and the sunroof deflector! I really want an OEM sun roof deflector and wind deflectors!
  21. Also wrinkle black or red on the rocker cover, I can't have the 'bay super clean with a crappy cam cover.
  22. That's cool Tom I don't know whether to put a standard grill back on? Or to smooth the badge out?
  23. Cheers for the positive comments guys The Rotas are for sale on eBay and Pistonheads now. Going to rock standard wheels for the winter and sort some nice 16" JDM wheels for next years shows. On the exhaust front I've got my 2.5" system fitted now, although It was a bloody mission. Firstly It was for an MB6 so I knew I have to weld in a section to make it fit, this went easy. But when I fitted the back box it felt a bit light, well after a few other problems I have found that it is more of an amplifier than a silencer! Its so bloody loud and I like a loud exhaust, Inside the car ATM It is louder than the Spec 2 I had on my B16A JDM VTi. Basically I have bought a twin loop silencer in 2.5" with a 4" tail pipe to replace the knacker back box and make the system considerably quieter. The other problem I have had other that the back box was that the system was custom built for a turbo MB6, which meant a non OEM downpipe flange location. Now this would have been fine if I had been told this by the seller! So I had to break out the welder and cut 6" out of the system before the cat and re weld the flange on. heres a pic of how far it was out: Over all though I am chuffed with the system and the pick up I noticeably better, I can't wait to get an RMF header now to finish off the system and then she will be going to be mapped to get the engine working best with the mods. Also as the OEM alloys will be going back on as winters what colour should I paint them as I not rocking crappy OEM alloys.
  24. I've decided to try the wheels on Pistonheads. I'm really thinking 16" would allow me to go a bit lower and I have found more wheels I like in the 4x114 PCD. Currently thinking either GT3's or SSR spec C's, I have found both in the size I want and and I my price range. Also I have found an exhaust and Ive bought the pipe to extend it (made for an MB6), its a 2.5" custom manifold back system with a 4" tip (a tad big but I would like to replace it with a HKS muffler if I can find one cheap enough) Also had a pipe dream today of respraying her in milano red as I would have loved one in that colour.
