My insurance prices have gone, 1900 named (wrote car off after 5 months), and now main driver: 2400, 1100, 2600, 3000, 1200 lol, I can insure a 4.2 V8 twin turbo audi RS6 cheaper than my EP3!
-
I do. Last year I believe my EP3 was around 3k to insure (luckily I only had to pay the balance over the £2600 for my 325i!) This year it's £1200 a year, but tbh for a 21 year old with 3NCB in the highest risk postcode area of South London.. it's not too bad
-
Yes you can.. they have that huge secret compartment. It annoys me how your MB6 insurance + if you had to pay for the E36s insurance = less than what I pay on my EP3
-
I envy your free work insurance policy, or I'd have an S2000 right now lol
-
You're forgetting Roj is an old man unlike us two, but for me at 20 when I got my 2005 325i it was £2600 a year, but now I'm 21 with an extra years NCB it is £900 a year lol
-
Yeah I'd feel like an absolute mug if I missed out on that kind of exhaust at that price, like I wouldn't be able to live with myself, shudder in my sleep and all sorts. Was a proper bargain, don't know if you'll come across another for the same price, must be eating at you inside huh? Isn't it Andy? I love this car.
-
That's opposite my house, on a weekend it's fine to park there because there's no school Shredded the back tyres yet Roj?
-
They weren't brothers, just good friends enough to call eachother that! Still sinking in, I used to be around Leicester a lot and followed Abz build thread on civiclife
-
It's a VTi-S, two boys from Leicester into the Honda scene, one building a high comp B18 EJ9 and the other with a nice EP3. Rest in Peace. Tragic way to die and at such a young age.
-
Hah, straight! Got any new pics of it?

I have a standard suspension EP3 type R with a JDM rear anti roll-bar and the difference is night and day, it's only a 3mm difference over stock but it makes such a difference on turn-in and mid corner, and does make the back end even more lively. I'd say a thinner front mated with a thicker rear anti roll bar will be beneficial to the MB6 as it's set up for understeer from the factory
-
Got it sideways yet?
-
So.. EP3s are faster than MK1 Porsche Boxster S'.. Interesting. I liked the part where we had the best convoy through London LOL

Brakestands, brakestands everywhere!

The auto box really suits the car and is a pretty good box tbh, but the fact it can't be dyno'd is cause it'll try downshift if you boot it in 4th (the gear required for dyno) at low revs, but I've been in this and his MB6 and from about 40mph onwards this thing is quicker
-
What's pointless? The fact it's an auto or the fact he can't dyno it lol
-
It's Autotragic so won't hold in one gear for the dyno pull
-
It's a shame Roj can't dyno this car haha Tbh it's easy to plug the tube he bypassed back in so it'd be easy to check if it makes a difference between runs.. Just Roj can't dyno this car.

But you can get a loud crossover from a K&N typhoon for £650 less, or an AEM V2 CAI which is proven to give more gains than the gruppe M for £170.. Do the airbox mod for now then get whatever intake you want, I was gonna use my airbox mod till I could get an AEM V2 but now I've done the airbox mod I see no need to
-
Pre facelift lights from a lower trim civic without the dark grey inners that the EP3 lights have, so I can spray the inners black and keep my stock headlights should I ever need to sell the car
-
They're still £349.99 for an intake lol
-
Got the date for when my shipment arrives! 13th January , I cannot wait! For now I'm trying to source some headlights from a lesser model
-
I'd never spend £500+ on an intake that will only net me like 5bhp tops, but that's just me... That money can go elsewhere, K100, RBC manifold, stuff like that
-
Yeah that's not the best vid, having been in the car before and after the mod, and also watching the mod take place, it's very noticeable in real life, way louder and it crackles/pops haha
-
@Roj has now been in my car and can tell you how hard it pulls through the rev range on a closed course with the airbox mod, there's no real flatspot at all!
