  1. Airbox mod for free! Do it. Gains power PROVEN on dyno, looks stock, sounds amazing. Or AEM V2 CAI's are only £169.99 atm but I wouldn't run one in winter because of risk of hydrolock etc
  2. I have a kind of massive subwoofer so I really need more clarity up front, especially as I'm taking the back seats out so my subwoofer now feels twice as mental as it already is! Yeah I'd say go for a small 10" sub or something with enough punch then get good front speakers to bring the soundstage around the front occupants and call it a day! My BMW I have amped front component speakers, and amped front underseat subwoofers and left the rears running on headunit only and it sounds amazing and clear and doesn't distort even at max volume. With the windows down they can be heard from a fair way away!
  3. Thanks! It's tough cause people are saying the stock speakers are 6", and to fit 6.5's, but then every forum seems to have a different size for them haha! Yeah tbh if I got them now I probably wouldn't fit them for ages, at least it's not a new BMW let me put it that way. My audio build took 4-5hours installation time alone, taking apart a BMW is not a joke! Also the stock speakers in the EP3 are clipped in at the front anyway isn't it?
  4. I have indeed looked, I decided to spray my current one BMW sparkling graphite and it messed up so I need a new dash piece! I like the flat black lesser models dash trim but Ideally I'd want the OEM silver cause if I do ever come to sell this car, I know the CF wrap trim won't appeal widely and they may think 'what's he trying to hide by having wrapped it?' etc. Also what size are the stock front speakers in the EP3? Halfords had some pioneer 13cm's for £20 in the bargain bin and there's conflicting information on the internet about what size the front speakers really are!
  5. Thanks! Anyway updates updates updates.. Last week @Roj had found a car 6 miles from me that he wanted to buy to replace his MB3, fast forward to last Saturday and I'd picked him up from the train station and proceeded to take him to collect his new car. (Click here for the build thread for it). Just like last time when he came down to London in the MB6, we decided to take some photos, quite funny really! Last time he was in London he had a Honda and I had the BMW, now it's the opposite! As far as updates to my car.. well.. I've ordered some carbon fibre wrap for my dash because I attempted to respray it but then was called out on a family emergency so it didn't dry fully and looks blotchy in areas; may just buy another dash piece. Also my over(not really night, been over a month)night parts from Japan are still on their way, but should be here soon to clear customs etc. So that'll be done soon I hope! How it stands mod wise.. Current mod list: - M2 BuddyClub replica Catback Exhaust - MTEC Grooved Discs + Mintex Pads - Red Brake Calipers - JDM EP3 Rear Anti-Roll Bar with HardRace Droplinks - Hondata Airbox Mod - LED Lighting Upgrade - Pioneer DEH-X5600BT with some other Audio bits - Team HEKO Wind Deflectors - Not really a mod but the difference it made was incredible so Uniroyal Rainsport3 Tyres To do list: - New midsection and possibly backbox for the exhaust (so a custom catback) - Wrap interior trim - Fit secret mods - Tint the windows - Paint headlight inners black - Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs - Rear Diffuser Slowly but surely this car is getting done bit by bit!
  6. Haha yes! Was great having you over and going with you to get this, this car is actually next level rapid and decent on fuel for a 2.8 6pot auto. Was fun hooning with you and you got an absolute bargain! Sounds good too Edit: I should've had that freebie you got thrown in with the car off you tbh... Matches mine more
  7. Surprised you've managed to keep it so standard sir! Tbh it's such a clean original example I'm not sure if even I'd mod it! Yeah, I've got them on my EP3 and I can match the quoted dry book figure for the EP3s 0-60 in the wet timed via GPS on a closed course, allbeit mines modded but the grip really is amazing. I have the 205/45/17 XL ones, because they're the extra load rating ones the sidewall is pretty stiff!
  8. That would be awesome as the S2000 filter is massive and I see it on VAG cars a lot, it's made more difficult heatsoak wise by the fact the K20 is practically backwards haha!
  9. Exactly this! It can be solved by adding a proper induction kit though but I'm very happy with the airbox mod and it maintains the standard look under the bonnet! AEM V2s are suddenly only £170 though.. Can't wait for my new parts to arrive, the waiting game has well and truly begun.
  10. Indeed I do! I finally for the first time in 6 months have reverse lights, having bought a new reverse switch from Honda, we go to replace it to find the EP3 has a weird design flaw. The reverse switch wasn't the problem, the wires were broken... The standard airbox sits ontop of the reverse switch which means when the engine vibrates, in an engine that revs as fast and high as the K20 the wires get pushed upon and fray over time. Not good. Soldered in new wiring and the new switch and all is well now. Also got new manifold bolts from Honda cheaper than from the motorfactors and installed them. Got a lot of plans for this car in 2015, not gonna be cheap but it'll be worth it (to me anyway) Little gritty shot at work!
  11. Hello and welcome! You forgot to mention the car you had before the civic which I'm sure everyone here would love! You've got good plans for this S14 and I don't blame you for taking it off the road in winter especially as it's so clean underneath! Have fun with it and that civic was grabbing all the attention from my shed of an EP3 @Roj get in here!
  12. Maybe In other news, ordered a timing chain, tensioner and guides kit for it. New manifold bolts (LONG story) have been ordered too, as well as a new reverse switch. Also booking my car in for a new b-pipe/midsection for the exhaust as well as preparing it for the goodies I've got coming over by mid December hopefully (in the shipping container today) Pic for added effect:
  13. Got a few surprise mods in the pipeline for this They're enroute atm in a container. Overnight parts that take 2 weeks yo.
  14. The Crew AlphaBeta Soup.
  15. @sennz Tylers just mad his cars slow Welcome to civic5! Post some of your car maybe, little 4banger. @Roj any update on sorting the heater issues?
  16. @Krzys change the EP3s it's like a 30 second job, but then yours is so low mileage it's probably been well looked after! Roj my birthday present to you for this car should be interesting haha, can't wait to see this car again with the new bodykit and stuff, every time I see it it's different!
  17. Rainsports are probably the best tyres I've ever used, the grip is absolutely astounding and the turn-in and feel was much improved over the budgets, I've had potenzas, P zero neros, sport contact contis in the past and rate the rainsport3 higher tbh
  18. I like T1-Rs but apparently they melt on track and aren't that good in the wet, when I got mine it had Mohawk M112 budgets on the front which would spin up the first 3 gears in the wet, so got rainsport3s but I still have budget rears.. makes it quite fun with erm.. the JDM RARB. So yeah I basically need rainsport3 rears ASAP haha! The type R centre console thing with two cupholders is the deepest storage space I've ever seen in a car cubbyhole wise. Top tip don't put a california scents in the rear cupholder. It's nearly impossible to get it out due to how perfectly it fits.
  19. What tyres are on it currently and what size? I know they come with 205/45/17 Potenzas that are a bit rubbish, I've got 205/45/17 rainsport3s on the front, going to get some for the rear but maybe 215/40/17 and swap front to back, be interested to see what you're running? Also have you found the ashtray yet haha, took me a while till Roj pointed it out to me, but you've been around this gen before!
  20. I was like that at first but then I realised mine needed a lot of work so decided to mod it haha, yours is in great condition and incredibly low mileage though, so I'd keep everything subtle/OEM+ but that's just me
  21. My friend with the FN2 changed his speakers out and also put a double DIN stereo in the dashboard, the sound quality is so good and the FN2 feels so solid and rattle free with decent bass/clarity, do it!
  22. You're probably going to change speakers before me so let me know how components sound with just mids, I may just try some JBL coaxials I have lying around somewhere from my starlet and see how that goes, I know the standard front speakers clip in and aren't even screwed so that makes life easier, a good headunit/EQ setup helps these dramatically though! I do have a rather powerful subwoofer so I do need speakers for vocals more than anything else though! The EP3 is a joy to drive in town, the steering is light yet somewhat precise, the K20 has low down grunt and also the ratios help a bunch! Plus its surprisingly good on fuel!
  23. Haha, for a short summary of what the mods done and how I feel about it: + It was free + Throttle response + Pull at higher RPMs + Mid range shove + Intake noise + I now have a slight crossover, nowhere near as wild as a B18 but then not as metallic sounding as say a proper intake on an EP3 + Keeps engine bay looking standard to rozzers and people trying to scope you for races at meets 'it's all standard' - Fuel economy (because you just want to hear intake noise all the time) - I broke my dremel LOL
  24. I have a video of it but it's against forum guidelines, I'll try and take a soundclip though!
  25. How are you finding it in comparison to the MB6? Having been in @Roj MB6 and then my EP3, they're completely different cars but excellent in their own ways! Yeah the tweeters are the one part of stopping me from getting comps, because I'd need the A pillar triangle trims.
