Also as seen in my build I did the Hondata airbox mod, and it keeps a nice standard look under the bonnet and really improved performance, for the princely sum of £0. So consider it Oo I wanna do either component front speakers or just better coaxials, anything would be better than standard tbh
-
Welcome to the club mate, I love mine even more every time I drive it! A decent headunit does help a lot but the speakers leave a lot to be desired! Enjoy it! Less than half the mileage of mine haha Other project cars EP3 takeover? I think so.
-
Glad to see the threads going well, yeah I have a feeling @Dougie and @Roj should line up haha! But one of you is in Scotland and one on Mars.. Waiting for Santa Pod RWYB next year to finally run my EP3

Haha! It does what it needs to do to be fair, nippy for what it is! I decided to do a mod today I've wanted to do since I got the car. I didn't want to spend £250+ for a good induction kit but I wanted more performance and induction roar, I also wanted to retain a standard look under the bonnet so I decided to finally do the Hondata airbox mod! It wasn't easy to do and after using a useless dremel to begin cutting, I decided to go old fashioned and use a small drill bit then a small saw for the tighter sections. Worked just fine, I haven't put it on the car yet but we'll see how it performs tomorrow! From what I've read on various forums it should be good. I'm also thinking of making my own cold air feed for it so watch this space. Stock airbox inside: Filters old (orange/'white') vs. new (blue): Airbox mod done: Airbox mod with cone: And finally a pic of the car which I actually quite like!

Thanks added to the list!

That puntos only done 48k and we've had it since 33k and it's been the most unreliable car we've owned. It's surprisingly fun to drive (1.4 16v 100bhp, 6 speed manual) but it's such an unreliable cheap POS, mum only does 1.5 miles A WEEK though so it's fine I suppose
-
It actually did fall apart, one of the rear grille things on the rear bumper became loose then when mum went for a drive it fell off, we had to retrace her steps to find it in the middle of the road and re attach it
-
So had decent weather today so decided to snowfoam and wash the EP3 And the result.. Decided to do the BMW after too.. Then my mum wanted me to do her car when she saw how mine turned out.. No pics of that cause no one cares about puntos

I want a HKS style backbox and it has to be 2.5" piping to match up to the rest of my system, Also I don't like the way spoon N1s look on EP3, it looks too small for the recess for the exhaust and also sounds too high pitched IMO
-
I now have a dilemma regarding backbox. I've wanted a new backbox for a while as the fitment of this off the shelf one is a bit.. let's not go there. Basically I've been recommended by my friends to go to Solid Fabrications, they're very good with exhausts and Hondas and I know you have to pay to play but they've quoted me £250 for a new backbox alone, I personally find this a bit steep but know it'll be the best possible backbox I can get done and their expertise is very well known within the Honda community. However my friend has an EP2 and just got a backbox done by Pipe Craft, a place in Essex who's known for fast fords but can do jap stuff too and they'll probably quote me cheaper than £250.. Head says go Pipe Craft, heart says stick with what you know - Solid Fab. Also I know what the Solid Fab one will sound like and the Pipe Craft one I have no idea whether it'll sound good or not but it could potentially be half the price! Solid Fab are also 1hr closer to me than Pipe Craft Argh.

Meet Roxy! Daves Honda Civic TypeR FN2 (UPDATE: Roxy waving goodbye to Civic5)
Shafzzz replied to Dave's topic in Other cars
The FN2 mapped makes about 25bhp mid range and 10bhp peak, I plan to get mine mapped once I've sorted the RBC inlet manifold out For the FN2 I'd map it on flashpro just for the extra midrange! I believe my colleagues FN2 is mapped via flashpro and he has an exhaust and his car goes well! Can't pull on my unmapped EP3 though but that's due to weight. The FN2 has everything inside that the EP3 doesn't!- 340 replies

That's a K20A2 @Krzys, the K20Z4 in the FN2 doesn't map as well as the A2 unfortunately. I know on an EP3 you can do RBC inlet manifold, headers, exhaust, and intake and make 240-250bhp peak without being cammed but I'm not sure on the K20Z4 in the FN2- 340 replies

This is one of my dream cars, looks absolutely stunning!
-
Haven't put it on yet but I'll let you know, the weathers been atrocious recently so work on the car is 0 at the moment. Should be fitted by the end of this week though! Liking your EP3 too! Well I would like it isn't it

I can vouch that @jdmsaq car is loud, it's straight piped and nearly as loud as my EP3 is, nice sounding car this is!

Krzys' 2010 KIA Cee Apostrophie d 3 1.6CRDi *Sold because it's crap!*
Shafzzz replied to Krzys's topic in Other cars
I fully in an unbiased manner 100% condone the choice of an EP3, I'm struggling to think what I'd replace it with, was thinking a 350Z next year but then I'd miss the 8200rpm do anything hot hatchness, and relatively good fuel economy! but V6 noise. -
Our cars are going to end up nearly identical haha as I'm going for anthracite on my stock wheels too! Good choice!
-
Haha if my clutch wasn't brand new I'd get an exedy OEM stage 2 clutch, but then I might aswell upgrade to a facelift/DC5 flywheel at the same time soooo Krzys... Nah my mates got a DC5 flywheel waiting for me, but I don't see myself getting the clutch done anytime soon! It's crazy the weight difference between prefacelift and facelift flywheels!

Unfortunately our standard ECUs are not mappable, I know for the K20A2 you need either a Hondata K100 or a Kpro in order to load a map onto it (think S300 on an MB6), basically a reprogrammable chip, but it doesn't list that it works for the K20Z4 like your car has.. Hmm I think you can Hondata Flashpro it though! Just googled: You can get a Hondata Flashpro- 340 replies
