  3. Cars in for clutch but there's a few cars ahead of it (including my mates A3) so not sure when it'll be done, been driving the BMW more and more again. Miss my type R... Loving the heated seats in this weather though
  4. He kept up in town because he has instant torque whereas our cars really move above 6k, however when I was above 6k I was pulling away at a decent rate, in cities the E36 is faster, on an open road the EP3 is unless you keep it in the powerband the entire time in town

  10. Well. My clutch has been going for ages as the cars done 107k on the original clutch, and last night it finally went, slipping like crazy. I realised my clutch had one launch left in it so when picking up my new headlights, I decided to use that last launch against a VXR on a private racetrack just off the M.... Anyway. EP3 1-0 VXR, and I had a bad clutch, yay for greasy conditions. But yeah, new genuine Honda clutch ordered and probably a 3.6kg fidanza flywheel. If not I'll just get a facelift EP3 flywheel...

  14. @Sorivity won't get a Honda again, that's for sure. One of them is very Toyota biased, and one of them's grown up haha! Oh well it's fun being the only Honda ones, all memes apply! I can't wait for my car to be done, although the container arrives tomorrow the contents won't be delivered for another week
  15. EP3 is my first Honda but as @Roj will assure you. One of our friends has had like 6, one has a built EG, @Sorivity had a DC2 and the Honda that made me fall in love with Honda was a UK spec DC2 I went in, then an EK4.. then Finally Roj's MB6. I decided to get the easiest hot one to daily that I'd always wanted! I would've loved an EK4 but I wanted a K20 because as a platform for power it's brilliant!
  16. Wow! I bet 7 years ago EK4s were fetching a pretty decent amount of money, especially as a good one is as much as a ropey EP3 nowadays! Was the EK4 your first hot Honda?
  17. I'm only 21 so I might as well just spend on the car whilst I have no other real commitments! But then I have to remember that I want to buy something else to replace the 325i (thinking Audi A5 S Line Quattro at the moment) so we'll see how everything goes!
  18. Yeah I had to unseize my track rod ends too before getting an alignment, luckily mine weren't badly seized enough to require new ones! You've also highlighted what's worrying me about lowering my EP3 and that's steering arm angle.
  19. Taken about two bloody months and the customs charges and shipping charges have been more than the entire contents of the shipment, luckily it's not just my car parts it's also stuff for renovating a property etc.. I just care about the car stuff tbh.

  21. Does yours also have the typical problem of them steaming up a lot inside overnight? Despite all these flaws it's still probably one of my favourite cars I've owned. I want to head back to VAG next but without selling the EP3
  22. I agree fully on the axle tramp, my tyres are brilliant in the wet but I still get the mad bouncing at the front. Pre facelifts are worse for sound deadening than facelifts though as they had less. Airbox mod + K100 will make some good gains, I'm looking to K100 mine once I'm done with the next few mods. Brakes I'd recommend the discs I have, MTEC Grooveds but not the pads cause they're crap. Low down torque is good but the top end is improved vastly by exhaust - If anything get a 2.5" custom exhaust made up because not for the noise but the gains, the standard exhaust diameter is less than 2" IIRC and really restricts it, a standard EP3 with just 2.5" catback and intake makes in the region of 205-210bhp depending on dyno! Wind deflectors help a lot but its a double edged sword for me as I haven't got A/C so with the deflectors I don't get the awesome breeze with the windows all the way down. Which they have to be all the way down. Because all EP windows rattle when half down. But the moment I floor it I forget about all the little niggles. Awesome car.
