Meet Roxy! Daves Honda Civic TypeR FN2 (UPDATE: Roxy waving goodbye to Civic5)

Fair play, go for it, mine only ever throws up codes for my sports cat lol, apart from the knock sensor one, if the knock sensor goes you'll have an annoying drive home lol- 340 replies

Meet Roxy! Daves Honda Civic TypeR FN2 (UPDATE: Roxy waving goodbye to Civic5)

I get the kangarooing when cold but no flat spots at all since changing MTF. The kangarooing in my case seems to be it fast idles at nearly 2k, so when you dip clutch to stop, it lurches forwards. It's just a characteristic I've gotten used to. If your timing chain is bad/stretched it throws on an EML in an EP3, Mine's fine at 106k/13 years old so I don't see why yours wouldn't be but it all depends on who maintains the car @Krzys- 340 replies

It broke a dremel bit and was the cause of a lot of swearing and shouting so be patient with it haha, very worth it for a free mod that still looks stock under the bonnet should plod/anyone want to have a nose around. I thought getting mine on 105k was good cause that was pretty low for an EP3 at the time! Tbh mine is 13 years old so 105k isn't bad! Cosmic facelifts are so nice, I'd be torn between keeping it completely original or going mental on it haha
-
Thought about doing the airbox mod yet? Really really like how original the car is, and how you managed to find one with such low miles is beyond me!
-
Can't wait for you to come to London so we can get these coilies on! Honda weekend it is! Cars finally getting lows, just leaves me and @Sorivity at stock height now.. I need to keep mine stock height though because of ground clearance Next stop boost or cams yeah? Thought so.

Nah it had some horrible fake wood so he's spraying it I believe I wanna see this car in person, bring on show season 2015.. I need to step my game up seeing as you're gonna park next to me at shows. @Krzys and me with the EP3 corner at JF1?
-
He's taken the centre console off to spray it @Krzys, that's just the glue underneath xD
-
Spoken to my bodywork guy about smoothing the front bumper, in regards to the CF tailgate... I'll contact my supplier once I've got enough orders to make a container worthwhile, but for now I'm aiming to get the car show ready for Mimms and JF1. To do list: - Fit CF Bonnet+ Aerocatches - Fit CF Spoiler - Smooth front bumper plate recess with hideaway plate - Raise backbox back up and bend the hangers - Window tint - Get private plates on

Very happy with it! Although this car is financially destroying me haha, £285 to tax brings total expenditure for this year alone (since 1st Jan) to over a grand lol. But I love it and it's the only hobby that keeps me sane so I don't mind spending on it.. I think.. I hope. Once tax is paid for I'll try and get the bonnet sorted, also found a bodyshop that may smooth my front bumper for me as one of the previous owners used what looks like bathroom sealant to stick the plate on (as well as screws?!) so I can't run shorter plates or a 12x6 rear plate because of it! So I may smooth the front bumper and get the rear plate recess re-done... Or do I follow my CF bonnet/spoiler theme and splash out on a CF bootlid?!

Got my radiator done, all is well with the car, also got an MOT done and it passed Was hilarious when he was doing emissions and was confused at how fast an EP3 revved, bounced off the limiter once in neutral and it shot a small flame . One advisory for nearside rear tyre but I was changing them this month for Rainsport3s to match the fronts anyway! So another years MOT on it I just need to renew tax end of this month then I can go mental with the mods for show season
-
Dunno how you've kept it standard this long tbh haha
-
Sweet! Now you've had it on the road as a daily, what are your initial impressions? Obviously having owned a DC2 type R before which is roughly similar power to weight ratio stock but FWD and revvy NA, how's boost? Hope you're enjoying it mate!
-
Thanks! Thanks! Unfortunately driving today, my radiator started leaking so I've ordered a new one to arrive on Monday, hopefully that all gets sorted, also my knock sensor went so I ordered another one and got it fitted next day, it's just all maintenance though so I don't mind shelling out a bit to get it all done the first time.. Carbon bits will be on soon but I've got a few more things to arrive before I do it all, rather get it done at once so it's like BOOM! New mods!
-
Thanks! Yeah the headlights make a massive difference, probably my favourite mod of the car externally.. as it's the only mod on so far LOL I step into the porch to put my shoes on and have to snap a pic, it looks so damn aggressive! Thanks fellow EP3 owner! The CF bonnet in the box with the packaging and foam and everything... is lighter than the stock bonnet on the car alone. So yeah! Thanks!

Well, let's get into this. Friday before last I went to pick up some headlights for my car (stock with painted inners), I knew my clutch was bad but then I'd assumed it was the original clutch on 107k miles, I traveled 25 miles to the guy to get the headlights and on the way as the car was warm, I started getting clutch slip in 4th, 5th and 6th, not good when you're on the M25 going 60 and you put your foot down and nothing happens. Oops. The area I picked them up from was full of boy racers, including an Astra VXR that tried it on in greasy conditions. I figured my clutch had one last launch and 1st to 3rd were somewhat usable. Then I realised it was a private road. Anyway I got the headlights and got them home: But then I had to sort out the clutch didn't I? So a Genuine Honda clutch kit was ordered and promptly delivered: Then onto fitting the clutch, what a ballache of a job this was, had to drop the subframe, remove the alternator, starter motor, pulleys, belt, airbox, pretty much most of the engine bay ancillaries: Then when the clutch was all done, the headlights went on Looks way more aggressive in my opinion, better in person actually and at night especially when the cars off it has that stealth look! Quick pic outside work: And after doing the clutch, wow what a difference, the old one had really had it, it was the original clutch that's gone through 6 previous owners and over 100k miles! The car is now way smoother to drive, any notchiness is gone, it feels brilliant and sharp and a lot faster than it already was... But anyway, let's get to the main point here. I got home and my delivery had arrived. What could be in these then? Better open one to have a better look inside eh? Smaller one probably first.. Wait, what's this? Yes it is, my CF spoiler had arrived. Not quite overnight parts, but very very happy. But then they also came with these: This must be a hint to what's in the bigger box, if you haven't guessed it already.. it is my carbon fibre bonnet! I haven't opened the box yet because then mum will have to deal with a expensive bonnet sitting unboxed in the living room! But yeah that's the updates for now.. bring on show season 2015 and fitting!
