    Since I found out the EP3 only revs to 5700 in neutral, I've been treating it like launch control therefore have set a few alarms off LOL, It behaves like a 2step when really it's just a limiter. I don't do it often but it sounds incredible, I definitely need to consider a quieter exhaust for the sake of track use, and my neighbours don't like me arriving home late. EDIT: For anyone who wanted to know about my sound system, here's a low quality video filmed by a friend Despite what it sounds like on the video the vocals are surprisingly clear in real life, problem is both my rear wings flex/shake due to bass. Looks hilarious from outside. Oops.

    Haha yeah I know it doesn't kick in in neutral, but the K20A2 doesn't have a crossover as such, so it's erm.. a linear loudness? Means that my car's as loud at 3k as it is at 6k, I can set off alarms easily at 3k trying to take it sensibly.. it's actually 'quieter' due to pitch at 7.5k

    Just an idea I've had after seeing this on a few other forums I'm on, maybe a 1/4 mile thread for those who have ran their cars?     Yeah I drove the EP3 and FN2 back to back, my colleague before he bought his FN2 brand new in 2007 had two EP3s and every time he drives mine he asks to buy it off me haha! The FN2 is the better daily driver I admit, but the pedal response is a bit iffy compared to the EP3, both good cars though

    K with throttle cables ftw, driving my friends FN2 it felt a bit detached after hopping in my EP3 and the feeling/response of cable was better IMO, the K is an amazing engine though!

    The backbox of my system alone was meant to bring the EP3 to 98db off tec, so God knows what mine is with that backbox, a 2.5" catback and a sports cat, I think I do something like 110+ at 4k lol

    Yeah the VAG cars do, especially the S3 with all wheel drive and all the equipment it has! One problem of type R ownership is everyone wants to race you, exec saloons, 1.2 corsas the lot. Or you get tailgaters who try to egg you on to go faster then when you get to a dual carriageway and drop down a gear into VTEC, they don't exist...

    I raced a LCR MK1 225 in my car and edged it by a length, then I raced a mapped 210bhp S3 (mapped to 265) from a 20mph roll and I was ahead to 70.. definitely 70. but it only started to gain on me top end. It's shocking how fast the EP3 is for a non turbo car haha but I do respect the 1.8T, as the S3 I had a go with is my cousins and the boost from a K04 feels phenominal! If I didn't want to return to Jap I probably would've got an LCR 225 instead of the EP3

    I let my old man drive it and even dropped him somewhere this morning in it, and he can't believe how civilised it is off tec (apart from the exhaust) then how responsive and savage it is when you boot it. He said it's probably the best car I've owned and he likes the heaters too haha. Tbh it's the first car I've actually 'loved' since my starlets, and that means something because I frickin' love starlets!

    I think on YOUR EP3 (hint hint), you should definitely invest in a JDM RARB, apparently it makes the lively rear end of the EP3 even more.. lively? I'll let you guys know when it's fitted

    The front ARBs on the JDM and UKDM are the same thickness, but the JDM ones shaped slightly different allowing you to run bigger bore manifolds than the UK spec one Thanks guys!

    Well well well what do we have here? A JDM EP3 RARB with Hardrace droplinks! I've been planning to do this mod a long time as it's 3mm thicker (19mm vs 22mm), so should allow the rear to have a bit more rotation under hard cornering, which should be fun as the EP3 is pretty steerable using the back end as is! I should be fitting this at work next week hopefully after maybe giving it a coat of black hammerite

    Looks great and very low mileage, same colour wheels as I want too! It's got a spoon N1 rep so it looks like it'll be loud haha. Good condition though. best of luck!

    I'm looking at some premier edition seats for mine, just to brighten up the interior a bit as the prefacelift interiors a bit dull! Good choice on a facelift cosmic grey, make sure you get preface rear lights though

    EP3 is the way. Best all rounder I've had, though I do sometimes regret the exhaust choice I made (ahem motorway journeys), very very good car, also doesn't lose to much on the roads should you wish to give it some welly.

    So I've decided to paint the wheels black due to a majorit.... LOL jk Anthracite, just gotta find the right weather for it. Haha he wasn't pleased when he saw we'd done that, but I'm slowly converting him to the VTEC side.. though I feel he wants VVTL-i more

    So now you've installed the snyper kit, when are you putting stage 2 engine mods in yo? Nah get it lowered a tiny bit, chuck the fanblades on and it'll be sweet. Get a little bit of tint on the windows nothing too drastic, it'll match the other black accents on the car.

    Also the EP3 isn't exactly a bad daily, granted it's a bit stiff suspension wise (cue somewhat innuendoistic jokes) but it's huge inside, practical, and tame around town, doesn't return bad MPG if you don't drive like a loon either because of VTC

    Haha he wasn't home when I did that either, he was out doing an airport run and me and his cousin were doing the calipers on both cars so we decided to have some fun with the BMW, decided to pull a prank on him which I can't post here due to legality reasons LOL. Also I may do the wheels in Anthracite till I can afford the set I want (ideally I can't get another set as I just bought two new front tyres that won't fit anything but 17x7 alloys and the ones I want are 17x8). Should I do the alloys anthracite with new red H's or black with red Hs?

    Not too much to update as of late due to saving up for the dreaded insurance renewal in Nov! Being 21 in London with a type-R is pretty darn expensive! Recent updates: Removed the i-VTEC DOHC cover from the engine bay giving it a more purposeful look, then decided to convert my mates gangster as feck E39 BMW to the darkside Painted the brake calipers red, really don't understand why only 30th anniversary preface EP3s had this from the factory, it suits the black on red so well, excuse the crap pic, car's dirty due to builders down the road! Also front brake dust why? BECAUSE MINTEX!
