Had an issue with boot being stuck and not opening so bit of fiddling about for an hour and spraying WD40 on the hinges, it popped open. It was creaking as I moved it up and down so sprayed tons of WD40 all over the hinges and on lift support until no more noise. Let's just hope it doesn't get stuck again.

 

So I then proceeded to remove the rear wiper and de-chrome the number plate trim. Think it looks neat like this.

Got all the junk out to check for any water leaks but thankfully none.  :-)

Just curious if anyone knows what this wire does as it wasn't connected to anything.

Ok I'll leave it there then as already got CD player.

 

@KiNK43 Just read your comment properly and looked up the prices on those parts you mentioned and they seem within my budget. I'll be collecting a few bits soon, was just wondering if you got link to your MB6 build please?
