Nice :). Have you had it at 8500rpm plus yet even for a short blast ?

 

I have yeah performance it fantastic with this new Intake, definitely more top end there red lines just before 9K but don't want to do that regularly like, don't fancy breaking the valve springs and fooking my head, that's a lot of work that im not ready for yet.

Yeah I take mine upto 8500. Still making power.. but I have some sympathy for the old girl.

Just goes to show how reliable Google is.. I was nd er impression new R is 1.6 vtec turbo.

Ha yeah exactly. guess we wont know until its released but I have read several reports claiming it wont have VTEC as they couldn't get maximum power using Variable Valve timing so they fooked it off and went for a straight 2 litre Honda engine and bolted a turbo to it, then I watched the test video and it did have any characteristics of a Honda high reving engine at all, yeah it produces near 300bhp but is that what Honda fans really want to see, I know I don't I would rather see another screaming Type R like the EK9 the only true type r for me, not a fan of the mass produced EP3 or FN models they weren't that impressive to me. 

 

we will see the truth when it emerges in 2015 I hope I am wrong...................................

Yeah its no that they aren't a good car they just have that oooohhh look EK9 factor about them that a Type R should have its more like oh wow another ep3 ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz............

 

just think its just the fact I always bought an EK9 when I was a kid on Gran Turismo PS1 it kinda had that legendary stigmatism, the EP3 was geared towards a different market (mass production) which for me takes away from it being a special car. Im not sure if there was a JDM model that was a little more impressive.

 

its just my opinion of them all im saying if someone came up to me and said you want this EK9 or EP3 or even DC2 I would pick the EK9 its a special motor to me growing up one day I would like to own one.

Right anyway thought I would let everyone know, I fitted the Meister R's and LCA's and MGZS180 ARB this morning, well happy so far with the results, I have kept them at the same height as the DC2 fronts and matched the rears as they were too low before.

 

so far 10/10 over the old clunking suspension, did notice when I was doing the job I have a knackered Track rod end one side but next jobs to fit my DC2 steering rack and im buying new ones anyway.

 

will post pics when it stops pi55ing it down.

8-) good work and Dc2 rack is the icing on the cake <thats if you like cakes> :-D rain here also...all day..and still rain..

vtec 5200 on mine but guess you want it standard

wouldnt mine trying Type "R" chip :idea: 5800 vtec and 8800 ^.

Indeed it is, just need two ADL blue print track rods and were in business, much easier working on my mums drive with shelter, no annoying neighbours gobbing off at me............

 

My Vtec kicks in 4675 I think will check, 5800 was abit late for me, I like it revving it's tits off.

Ah ok didn't know that, still an EK9 for me though..............I have driven a few EP3's and just wasn't that bothered thought as standard they had no guts never driven a modded one but the price they cost to mod is ridiculous so stick to the B series engines thanks.

exactly and they cost a lot less and get better bang for your $$$$$ cant beat the B-series for value for money.

 

a real type R should be built in Japan I remember in the late 90's early 2000's a lot of those imported car specialists poping up in Nottingham and they were the only place that you could get a EK9 from and the common ones back then were the eg's and EK4's I also have a soft spot for a Jordan I have to say but lots of them been ruined by sh1t modders with Lambo doors and G4y stuff like that....
