Mini_matt Posted April 23, 2016 Author Share Posted April 23, 2016 Seeing as the sun was out today I decided to connect the sub I had in the garage and give the car a proper clean! I gave the whole car a good wash, snow foamed and then used a clay bar on the whole car!! Half way through I wished I hadn't started! But the clay was turning brown and picking up all the tar spots so it was doing it's job! Finally finished claying, grabbed some compound for a few bad scuffs where there was red paint from my mates door! Then remembered after clay you have to wax so had to do all that! Pretty exhausting and my girl didn't even notice! Ha, oh well. im pretty happy with some of it considering its 16 years old now, although I photographed it's good side ideally I need new bumpers, bonnet, drivers door, drivers wing and wing mirror to be decent but it's a cheap run around, not a show car. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm not sure if it's the seats or the suspension, so I've decided it needs to come up a bit! I had a few hours to kill this afternoon so started trying to raise her up. I spent far too long scraping knuckles getting nowhere before deciding to pull the whole coilover out. Off the car it was easy! I removed the spring with a bit of backyard engineering, sit on the fork and you can undo the nut easily! Once I broke the lockring and adjustment ring free I cleaned up all the threads and covered them in copper grease! Everyone needs to use more copper grease!!
