That's right I remember now :) My Aerodeck paint is in very bad condition too. I cannot seem to get rid of the swirl marks even though I clayed it 3 times. It made me realize how mint my MB3 was. There was no marks on the body at all.

Well, I hope you stick with your Civic but do what you think is right :)

Clay bar doesn't remove swirl marks I don't think, @Chandler should know for sure! I would have thought you'd need a T-Cut or machine polish to get swirls out?

No a clay bar removes contaminants from the paint like tar and tree sap.

Machine polishing is what you guys need ..

Claying does nothing for swirls at all ..

I thought as much, wanted to check! :)

If you're going to get the paintwork sorted use a rotary polisher and something like G3 or Meguiars Ultimate Compound to restore the paint

I was reading about the tax above and the MB3's great compared to what I used to drive lol :D

  • 2 months later...

She's now for sale...

Trying to negotiate for an FN2 currently, and all going well, will be picking up Valentine's Day (sorry Mrs, no money for a meal and flowers... But look at my new car!)

I will be heartbroken if it goes, as its been a journey (albeit a stressful one) , and its so much fun to drive...
