Alloy wheel size discussion - 15" vs 16" vs 17"

I went from 17" to 16" as I felt the 40 profile tyre quite harsh. So dropped to 16" on a 205/50/16.....then dropped to a 45 profile for better handling (and less scrubbing):)

Trial and error IMO

bloody expensive trial and error, when doing it with decent quality tyres...

i like my slightly stretched tyres, they have been fine for me on 16's i don't really like running 15's if i'm honest, the big side doesn't feel that nice.

but thats my opinion

I've always felt a 40 profile tyre on a 16" or 17" wheel is too small/harsh for the bumpy roads.

They put 17s on the 04,S2000"s <45"S front>for better stability over 16s there were stiffer suspension differences also,

as with most of the M"s ie roll bar ,dampers, bushes and lowering.
