Actually I think it might be easier than a silver car, we're doing my mates ice blue metallic focus in a couple of weeks, he's had a go at some of them already and reckons it's not as easy to see where you're working and get the match right. I think me working my polishing magic will bring it up nicely though. Yeah, apparently they like it that way as it 'makes it rural'. Cnuts in their mock georgian chav mansions.

  6. Search ebay for 'Honda fender washers' there's a company called super GT supply packs of 5 fender washers and bolts in various colours for £5 3 packs will do both wings and all the bolts along the slam panel, headlights, ac rad etc., etc. Quite a bit cheaper than the skunk2 ones.
  7. MX5 with a turbo conversion, there's a few out there ready converted or doing the conversion is fairly straight forward I believe. Great trackday car. What a beast!!
  8. Thanks, it's certainly getting better. Cheers chap, bonnet and wings were really peppered with chips as was the rear spoiler, quite a few on the doors as well as the scratches. It took two of us most of the day on it but I'm well happy. My neighbours in the posh houses insist on using loose gravel for the roads I need to access my road and it doesn't matter how slow I drive it still gets chipped.
  9. Looking . Nice. Autoglym Super Resin Polish is good for swirl removal by hand or machine, you'll need to go over 2 or 3 times by hand though. Meguiars Ultimate compound is another good one for hand use or either the swirl x or scratch x I think are ok. I've just got some Megs 205 to use with the DA, it's more of a finishing polish but will get rid of some light halos and swirls. Wax depends on what you want from it, I use Collinite as it's a very good and long lasting (6 months) so I just top up with QD after the regular wash.

  14. 16's are the best size wheel for these imo, tyres are more expensive though. MG hairpins are a decent wheel.
  15. T-cut is only temporary, it'll come back out again after a couple of washes. I used some PB touch up paint, ,scratch cleaner, a very thin modeling paintbrush, some 2500 grit paper, G3 compounding polish and some megs ultimate compound. And a sh1tload of elbow grease. This is not for the faint-hearted, you have to have a very steady hand (which I don't) and then you need to rub the paint flat to blend it, this is the scariest part as it looks awful at this point. You then need a good compounding polish to get the scratches back out.

  17. Some paint correction was done today, with the help of a friend who's a master brush weilder. I'm so chuffed with how much better it looks I've had several faps over it. Here's some bonnet pics. Before: And after: I wish I'd got some photos of the doors as there was a big scratch down the drivers door and a nasty mark on the one behind it and they are both almost invisible now.

    Whatever you want really, Motul, Mobil, Shell helix, Fuchs titan, they're all good oils. Just don't get Castrol.
  19. Knock a little bit off for the alloys and getting the cambelt done and it should be around the same money as the silver one. Tax and MOT?
