  1. That's what crossed my mind as I have faffed with the intake when I fitted then removed the induction kit, is there anywhere else to check? Would unplugging the air temp sensor when the engine was running put the light on?
  2. That's great, I was looking for that cheers
  3. I will have a dig around and find the how to cheers:)
  4. Right, getting slightly fed up of this car at the moment, a new problem has presented itself Drove to my mums on Monday, all good running perfect, put it in the garage and has been there until tonight Started it up, was idling a little higher than normal at 2k so I thought, ok it's on choke Driving alone engine gets up to temp however idle is now bouncing between 1-2k Gets it on the drive and idle is still bouncing away like a goodun Started up an hour later, idle is now terrible, all over the place with cutting out now thrown in, and now accompanied by the engine management light I did unplug the sensor on the intake pipe while it was running so don't know if that had caused the eml? Any help would be great as I'm now tearing my hair out with it:( Thanks in advance
  5. Thanks Paul I now have a new problem, on posting about it now
  6. It was moreso music and and a street load of cars more than anything else When they got home the house was exactly as they left it, I would have gotten away with it had it not been all the neighbours breaking their neck to tell all I'm 37 now so no more of that malarkey
  7. Been there done that mate, 1993 was the year, parents were abroad for 2 weeks 20 years later its still talked about in the street what happened those 2 weeks
  8. It my parents garage as they are away at the moment:)
  9. Cheers Tom:) Here's them fitted to the car
  10. Theyres been no loss of coolant, apart from I overfilled the expansion bottle so it was way over the max line Since that episode it's obviously vented the overfill and it sits on max now, or it's had an airlock and its burped itself hence the level dropping I'm not concerned as they're is no smoke, No pressuring and heaters are red hot
  11. It went to just over 3/4 before I noticed it when it happened, I switched the engine straight off
  12. Cheers, The lad over the road who worked for honda says exactly the same thing:)
  13. Thanks mate, yeah lad over the road pointed it out last week, I thought it was from the top hose but its not The problem seems to have fixed itself now, the car was stood for a couple of months before I bought it so might have caused it to stick I did buy a thermostat which is in the boot, if it creeps past halfway on the gauge again I will change it straight away:)
  14. Thanks for the advice chaps Out of curiosity Paul, have you had many Hondas come in with a snapped belt?
  15. Yep it was shocking, he only had it a month, was doing 65 then heard a sharp shwwwpp noise and all dash lights came on All 16 valves bent, was fixed under warranty but it was never right afterwards, had an awful tap on the engine so he part x'd it I'm at 115k so that original belt is doing well lol
  16. I have to get the bits together first, it's no drama to tow it round the garage if he can't get the bolt off, the lads in there will whip it off for a tenner for me:) I know the belt snapping arnt a common occurance but better to be safe than sorry, not like vauxhalls or alfas that snap their belts for fun Timing belt snapped on my dads astra at 17k!
  17. No, guy over the road will be for me He used to be a honda tech so it should be in safe hands, although he is concerned about the dredded crank pulley bolt
  18. Thanks chaps, wish I'd saved the timing belt for this car not the last one Not looking forward to breaking it to the wife that its massively overdue, as she is a when it breaks fix it kind of gal, does not understand the whole concept of timing belt schedules
  19. As title was looking through my service history for record of a timing belt change of which there was none apart from a handwritten 'timing belt' and a question mark on the 80k service Now having looked though the forum to see if the d series non vtec is a non interference there are conflicting answers on this So decided it would be best to get the belt done, now I've read there is no need to change the tensioners etc just the belt (and the water pump to be on the safe side.) As the tensioner never fails Is this correct? Any info would be great, I had planned to get a gates belt and a oem water pump
  20. I know I thought it looked pretty cool I'd have done mine, but already have a carbon fibre cover on Hers is just a tatty 3GS with a scratched to hell back so I thought why not The Missus likes it as she says its like fishnet stockings lol
  21. Cheers Maz:) Today I started the flyeyes, did the rears first off the car while it's not being used this week They came out ok, I'm not 100% happy as I'm extremely fussy and if I don't think ive done something right it bugs me for weeks, My missus actually had to stop me pulling it all off and binning it I will say they were an absolute pig to do And did the wifes phone while I was on Ignore the sharps bin, they're for my wifes Clexine injections as she is preggars:)
  22. The flyeyes look great, shows me what mine will look like when I eventually pull my finger out and fit mine, my mb2 is tucked away in my parents garage for the week as I have use of their car this week:) so will be next week Cai, is cold air intake - essential mod really if you have a open sucky filter:)
  23. Nice one, I couple of pair of mole grips, or pliers should help you get the shape you need Also when fitted you can bend it a little to where you want the filter to stay Furthest away from the engine as possible It would be worth, as mentioned to remove the resonator box and run a cold air feed to it I had to remove mine as the intake wasint long enough with it being 'universal' so that coupled with having no cai the heat soak was horrendous!
  24. For the air filter bracket, I would have a look in b&q or home base for something that you could use, or if not I shouldn't be to hard to fabricate one from a strip of metal Years ago I used some old Meccano which worked aswell
