  1. Not legal and you need one for MOT You'll need to find a friendly tester Ye thought so.. I am aiming to be an Mot tester. Got a long way to go though
  2. Looking nice mate.. Those 5 spoke alloys looks like they're from a Nissan Primera P11? Your new alloys look soo much better though
  3. Love the sound.. I am looking into buying a full stainless exhaust system for mine. Wish I could de-cat it too but not sure if that's illegal or even meet the Co2 emissions for mot
  4. Ye I never thought of that.. haha. I will give it a try and hopefully it will shine up a little..
  5. Sounds odd.. but ok I will give it a try tomorrow. Cheers
  6. Mmm.. wide slammed MB? Interesting.. I will keep an eye on this one
  7. Haha, I only just washed the car yesterday and then seen the state of my car the next morning.. I was pi$$ed
  8. Hi there.. Earlier on I have noticed my headlights are starting to turn yellow (like a moldy color) and I was wondering how you can remove it. I am not sure if its inside or outside of the casing, hopefully its not the inside because the headlight is a sealed unit. The picture doesn't show much justice.. Any recommendations? Thanks
  9. They're really good for Ministry of Sound speakers. They used to be hooked up to the headunit but they are now connected to a 400w Pioneer amp. No need for a sub
  10. And I still haven't done anything new to the Civic apart from fitting a new cd player, 6x9's and a amp.. Its annoying because most of my money is going towards the insurance each month, but can't afford to spend anything on the car
  11. Apparently the wind has picked up lots of sand from the Sahara desert and dumped it in the rain clouds . These rain clouds have blown over the South West of England and rained down all over the cars.. This.. And this after a wash..
  12. I done this when I just bought my MB3, I had 2 black keys and 1 red key. I used the red key because I thought it looks cool After going out for a drive, I got back in the car and it didn't start! Just the green immobilizer light flashing on the dash, nothing else.. But luckily the car started after using the black key. Damn lucky..
  13. Nice mate! The alloys looks just.. perfect. Hopefully my MB3 will start looking the part soon
  14. I managed to take the gearbox out. I turned the input shaft/layshaft and it made hell of a noise and it was really slack I fitted the new gearbox, fitted a new thrust bearing and put 2 litres of Honda gearbox oil. Running really smooth and the car feels a lot more responsive (could be my imagination ) and I finally have a really quiet car, chuffed to bits!
  15. I have mentioned this in another thread but I made this thread as for what it says on the title.. So.. I now have another gearbox and before I fit it on the Civic, I want to make sure the Input Shaft Bearing is good. I don't want to fit it and then find out it has the same problem as the old gearbox. I have checked the input shaft for play but is there any other checks that should be made? And how often does a thrust bearing fail? Because the gearbox already has a thrust bearing fitted but I don't know if its worth fitting a new one. The new gearbox has done 73,000 miles, apparently.. Thanks in anticipation for your help..

  17. Wow! I love what you done to your engine! It really does stand out, good job.. I really wish I had I garage to do some work on my MB3 Civic. Nothing special but its only my 1st car lol
  18. Yes all the D series gearboxes will fit but i would like another 1.5 gearbox so the gear ratios are the same for fuel economy. I was thinking of getting a 1.4 gearbox from a d14, that will make my car quicker But then again, it will drink more fuel..
  19. No point putting the link up now as the gearbox is now sold.. gutted!! But I have found another one which cost more. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-HONDA-CI ... 3f1688f961
  20. I cannot seem to get the link to work. How do you remove this thread? Thanks
  21. Hi their.. The gearbox on my MB3 is getting ridiculously noisy in 1st and 2nd gear (input shaft). So I had a look on Ebay and I saw this.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-HONDA-CI ... 3f1688f961 But before I purchase it, I want to make sure it fits my car (1.5 Vtec D15Z8 MB3) I don't know if this gearbox came from a Civic Coupe or a 5 door hatch like mine. Thanks for reading and thanks for your help
  22. When my Civic is idling it makes that grinding noise. But if you push the clutch pedal in the noise goes away. Its a lot louder when driving in 1st and 2nd gear. But it isn't so loud in 3rd, 4th and 5th. Yesterday I checked the gearbox oil and that seems fine. I also took it to a garage and matey said its the thrust bearing.. no help there haha. Hopefully I can get it sorted soon
  23. I might buy that genuine Honda stuff, isn't cheap though
  24. I forgot to mention what the gearbox sounds like in 1st and 2nd gear. It almost sounds like a grinding or scraping noise.. Or sounds a bit like a thrust bearing but only a lot louder. And is it easy to remove the gearbox if I wanted to fix it? Cheers
  25. Hi there.. So its been over a year now a had my MB3 Civic and its a great car. The only problem is the gearbox, its getting louder in 1st and 2nd gear (very annoying) I have seen a lot of people over the internet saying its the input shaft bearings which is a common fault. I am starting to have a look around for another gearbox and it would be ideal if I can get the same one in the Civic now (1.5 vtec-e D15Z8 MB3). Will a D14 or D16 gearbox fit? These are the only one's I can find on Ebay and other sites at the moment. I did go scrappy but there aren't any Civic's there. Or should I just repair the noisy gearbox in the Civic now? Or new gearbox oil/additives might make it quieter? I dunno where to start! Any help or suggestions would be great? Thanks for reading
