Cool I will pick up some primer tomorrow too I never resprayed anything before but its worth a try. Better than paying 80 quid for someone to do it for me

Those wheels looks soo perfect on your M! Nice work mate, a bit of inspiration for mine..
-
I recently picked up a Vti lip for a tenner! Chuffed to bits but its silver and my M is burgundy red.. I want to spray it black to go with my black headlight surrounds and black mesh grill. Can you just sand the lip down and spray 2 or 3 coats of gloss paint? I don't want it to go flaky or start cracking over time. Has anyone done this? Thanks for reading, cheers

Your M is looking good mate, especially with the 15's on like the others said Is it me or is your rocker cover is in the opposite way?

A mate of mine is going to let me use his garage for a few days, so its going to be a busy weekend for me! I'm picking up a silver vti lip/splitter tomorrow and respraying it black. Fitting the original rear spoiler and fit a de-badged grill. And hopefully spray the rocker cover and brake calipers red. Also if I have enough time, I might be fitting a lightweight flywheel but really I should wait for that when my clutch goes.. So my little mb will be transformed this weekend, well... from the outside anyway

Mine doesn't have a spoiler or a vti splitter. On the 2000 reg mb3 sport have spoilers but the earlier mb3's (like ours) don't. I got two spoilers, one came of a black mb6 and the other came of a Rover 400 (exactly same spoilers). I have 15" TSW Stealth alloys with 205/65's on which are slightly scraping the inner arch on full lock. Hopefully getting 195/50's or 55's soon! Ye check out my thread, link below. Its my 1st car too and it feels that I will never get rid of it viewtopic.php?f=141&t=8572

Nice M and welcome to the forum! Your MB3 is very much like mine, same engine, same colour, same year. Just different alloys and yours a lot cleaner than mine

Have you painted your other Civic matt black yet?
-
PM'd you mate!

I cannot seem to upload the other pictures of the number plate lights and spoilers but I'm working on it lol
-
Nothing much but I got cheap blue bulbs from fleabay and led number plate lights (sorry for bad quality picture) I had a dig through the shed last night and found the original MB6 spoiler which I picked up from scrappy. Mentioned it somewhere on this thread. So I now got 2 spoilers Is it worth putting a spoiler on or should I wait till I find a ITR spoiler? Thanks for looking

Looking fantastic mate! Well done for saving this M

Looking good mate, did you do this outside in the rain?!

2012 & Your Civic!!! (Did You Keep Your Promises?)
vtec2011 replied to knight's topic in Chat Lounge
Mmm... This years must do list: Vti / Vti-s lip Mesh de-badged grill Black out the chrome finish headlights Fit the rear standard spoiler Spray my TSW spokes black Spray brake calipers red Spray rocker cover red Fit standard back box back on (Annoying the neighbors every morning ) Cambelt change NS front wing/fender need replacing Full service (Done) New tyres (Done) Xenon bulbs (Done) And... on a mission to get a Civic5 sunstrip! -
As Knight said, the VTI / VTI-S kit only fit shapes like the red civic above (thats my car btw, looks a lot different now lol) And welcome to Civic5! 1"£££$££"!!

I finally manage to pick up a nice set of TSW 5 spoke 15" alloys! Looks soo much better than the steelies I have also fitted a cold air K&N induction kit (sounds sweet) Also got a spoiler ready to go on which came off a Rover 400. Not sure whether I should fit it or get something more tasty like a ITR spoiler.. Just need a back box but nothing too loud and a VTI bumper lip if I can find one... I can only upload one picture for the moment but I will soon upload some more. Cheers

Finally manage to get back on my laptop to upload a photo of the new alloys Nothing special but it works for me..
-
Cheers guys! to be fair if your careful and dont rush things its hard to mess up. I didn't put mine in the oven i used a hot air gun and gently pryed apart. Hey that's a thought.. I got a heat gun in my shed! What did you use to paint/spray the chrome? I know you got to sand them down before painting it on. Might do this tomorrow
-
Far as i know its not a direct fit! but you can make anything fit if you are throw cash at it! Ye it can cost money. Or I could modify it by using my umm.. skills

As the title says really.. I have been looking well over a year trying to find a vti-s lip for my M. I looked on Ebay and scrappy and no luck. And I don't want to be spending 60 quid on a bumper lip. So I was wondering if EG, EK or even Rover 400 if possible.. Something like this? http://www.goingfast.com/images/produkt ... 0250-1.jpg

The headlights looking fantastic! I really want to do this to my M but I cannot find another set of headlights (I want another set just incase I screw up.. ) And good work on the welding, proper job..
-
Any luck? Yep, the TSW's fit and look great! But the tyres are far too big and look weird on my M. Got 205/65 on for the moment but I will be fitting 195/50's or 55's soon!

I have bought Castrol Magnet 10w40 part-synthetic. I guess its the same meaning as semi-synthetic right? And I got Honda MTF in my gearbox, good stuff
