great idea isnt it. gonna have to put a bucket seat n 4 point harness in there. get strapped in n get spun lol

frame arrived today. late after noon though so we only managed to fit the car on there. frame still needs a couple of bits done to it but it works take it for a spin they said....... itl be fun..... it was a bit of a test fit. but car can now be stripped easier underneath now. get wheels off and rear beam as it still weighs a bloody tone on the frame (quite hard to rotate). but it does work next step strip the rest of the fez n then start on the rx

yeah I imagine the next few steps are going to be big. things are going to have to be spot on so everything else fits and works as it should. we will soon get there. just hope the frame is there tomorrow and more can be done. as you can see though we will be doing other jobs whilst this is going on so progress may be slow now and then. think the target is for the spring/summer time no doubt. im not 100% sure whats going on with the loom. still got the fiesta looms on the car and iv labled them up. would have thought it would be easier using the rx loom interior and engine. god knows yet but iv been told my boss has put engines in all sorts so its not like he doesnt know what hes doing even if its still a shed at the end we will atleast have it working...

I thought that but one of the lads at work told me a story today of how it was when my boss got it. basically the only thing holding the car together was the seat rails, if u jumped in your seat to fast and heavy the car would have just snaped.. they did re-weld it all etc (I wasnt working there back then btw). so it is all unsafe in a way anyways. a shame I know but at least the engine is being put to some use . the roof on it is torn too and the interior is very well sat on lol. would be nice just to restore it all though but I think its to much beyond that now Shame, but at least it's heart is going to a new fun home! yeah should be a lot more fun with thus going in it. just hope the legs are strong enough to keep up with the lungs shall we say lol

Yeah it was a good box too! Then i moved to the VTi and for a long time i kept trying to put it into 6th lol lol. I know in the saxo (car after punto) I kept trying to pull gear knob up to select reverse lol

bit more done today. funny thing is it only took me 2 days to get it to where it is now but today spent half a day messing about with a bloody cv joint lol. strange how things can go like that. anyways as above iv disconnected the driveshafts at the cv joint and removed the gearbox. also removed the gear selectors fully from the car. had to push the fiesta out the garge and put a cover over and works on hold until this rotating frame is ready which should be any time soon so for rest of today been sanding and priming a focus rear bumper. nothing more to say really lol. pics.... gearbox out after a few hours........ the driveshaft out at the cv joints and the gear linkages and now its in hiding until the stand arrives...... and the focus bumper iv primed

wasnt the 16v sporting a 6 speed gearbox too?

Mivec just isn't as punchy as vtec

I havnt test drove it propper but the throttle response is cracking. its the gpx mivec too. automatic but with tiptronic gearbox. the exhaust sounds great...

cheers mate n yeah was a cracking little car. and yeah a mk2b rear bumper well spotted and sporting side skirts. was only a 1.2 8v but was nippy. none interference engine too so if timing slipped u dont f**k everything else up do miss it though. got it just how I wanted. can u guess the alloys?????

also just spent a good 45 mins and missing the best action part of bad boys 2 doing that update on my mobile. you lucky people lol

well tom my boss said to me after I mentioned about strengthening the chassis arms that these high performance jap engines are really light so theres no need to lol. anyways today got some pics of the mazda for yas ok so today I got the gear linkages off, the hydraulic hose off the gearbox, the vacume hose off the master cylinder and inlet, checked everything was off the engine and lifted out the engine but 1st off my boss cut off the top slam pannel engine up up and awayyyyyy..... then I cracked on with stripping out the interior so we can sort where the tube for rwd might go.. took the seats out and ripped carpet out and found some wet newspaper under the carpet so got the rest out... then someone came round to do some measuring for a frame to put on the fiesta so we can get the fez in the air and rotate it round so its easier to work on good idea me thinks. rolling the car round at head height saves dragging yourself under it to chop and measure and weld... also I got proof off the reg plate it was made for this job. I needed to mod it a little tho... so I finished off the badge... also I got the fuel tank and fuel filter off and the spair wheel and cage. another good day I think more to update on tuesday when im next in as it is now...

yup it will be. hopefully it all goes to plan as smooth as it can do. outcome should be awesome though. the rx7 engine has had uprated fin tips, high pressure fuel pump with spark enhancer and straight threw exhaust. its about 225bhp at the wheels i think my boss said. nice big job to do though and so far so good with removing the fiesta engine, no problems as of yet and not a cut on my finger :s usually get cut from even changing wipers me lol. always end up bleeding from somewhere but not today

no that will be next step. i just thought id get the power unit out and check the insides of it as iv read they are common to go, but theres no burns or loose conections in it. so il just check the wiring next and where its loosing power. people on civic5 facebook page rekon its the wire from door to wing

sorry tell a lie. im trying to find out why my windows dont work, had drivers door card off and took out the window power unit, opened it up but looks fine :s so more hunting to why they where tempermental and now been dead for 3weeks or so

not my project but im doing a lot of the work. both are my bosses cars and we (I) just started this project today so not a great deal done. 1st of all we have this... not the subaru, the rx7 behind it its the only pic i have of it up to now as iv only just decided to do a progress thread for it. the engine: the exhaust ........ and erm the car its going in ford fiesta .if im correct its the mk4 yeah not my first choice either but its not my project im just the grafter lol. if it was up to me it would have been going in my civic not many pics so far but what iv done today is take off bonnet, grill, front and rear bumper, every separate bit of the exhaust. removed rad,fan, expansion tank, battery and tray, lights, air intake, disconnected fuel lines from from rail. removed and labelled every bit of the engine loom. not done to bad i dont think as its 1st time iv had my head in one of these and been distracted with a couple of other jobs lol. to say how much iv done it really doesnt look a lot lol. tomorrow i will be removing gear linkages, and disconnecting the hydraulic hoses from gearbox and then disconnecting the wheels side of things then the engine and box will be out. nothing more i can say really. i would say i dont think this is going to be easy and wont work but been told to think positive so yeah this will work and be one hell of a rwd fiesta lol. more pics and info tomorrow

it wasnt to bad when I swapped my punto for the saxo as I drove a new car straight away. but if I sold that I would have been gutted to see it go. even though iv owned 5cars iv never actually sold one :s lol. do miss my punto mind. was real nice until sum jelous c**t shot the boot snd sum p**s heads booted my bonnet and wing
