  1. Well I'm deffo going to go for a B series or H series going to buy complete car as it will have most of the things I need, and if I get MB6 a lot of other parts will go to use
  2. I love the nice work you have done on this M maz and she lookes much better in the metal mate! Was a pleasure to meet you today and to buy that vti lip off you I carnt wait to put it on my MA after its painted etc, thanks mate. Defo meet again soon and go to some meets!
  3. B20b or Z1 out of crv would be good but arnt they slower/underpowered compared to B16 B18? Also would the running gear fit aswell, looked on wiki and says the JDM domani MB6 was offered with a 4X4 system borrowed from the crv!
  4. I wasn't going to buy that accord in the link just wanted to show as example, I know its not the most powerfull honda unit out there but its 145 bhp for pennies and my MA is lighter than an accord and it would be something different than the norm with a turbo, I've just had enough of my MA8's pathetic 90hp engine! But if I can get a prelude 2.2 or mb6 to break that would be much better
  5. Would like someone to help me out here please. I want to know if the engine out of the 1999 honda accord fit my car? If so what will I need for the swap as I'm going to buy a full accord for the donor, but will I need other parts? Here's the accord I'm on about click link to see http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?sbk=1&nav=SEARCH&itemId=321243766324
  6. I know my car was on 14's when I brought it, but I put the EP alloys on as I love the look of them but tyres are too big for my little MA to spin haha, going to see if I can get some smaller rubber for them, if not I'm going to have to sell them thanks for the input people.
  7. Are my tyres too big for my car as my alloys are off a EP, and wanted to know if it affects the acceleration etc?
  8. Yup checked both of them mate, must be the motor then.
  9. Fitted the lower wish bone today and the problem is solved, wheel lines up perfectly
  10. I've been trying to find your project thread ammar, but I can't find it on my fone :/ was going to ask if you can get me a vti front lip? as I'm not too far from you
  11. I'm going to try new motor if not she's getting de-wipered
  12. Ok I got the lower wish bone from my local breakers yard after waiting 2 hours for the kid to get it off... He didn't have a clue what he was doing, should be sacked! Anyway the wish bone isn't bent like mine. and is ready to go on tomoz so should be sorted then.
  13. Just wandering how to get rear wiper working as mine don't work, and I know this is a common thing, done the usual checks fuses, connections etc.
  14. Yeah its just temporary use, I'm getting bigger engine soon (going to buy a 2.2 prelude or 1.8 mb6 to break and put a lot of parts to good use) so when I do the swap I'm going to rebuild my D14 engine with all the D16Z6 stuff and put it in a rover bubble for fun
  15. I reset the ECU on mine and replaced the gearbox oil for some semi-synth 10w/40 by the looks of it there wasn't any in there! and its running a bit better now, I went my local breakers yard and seen a blue P reg MA8 with only 73k miles on it and it was in good condition aswell! But someone had already had both wings off it, which I wanted :/ but I'm going back tomorrow to get a wishbone and a few other things off it they may aswell let me buy the whole care LoL
  16. Well I've been around the car inside and out and the leak/vapours are coming from the top of float seal I think as its sort of layered with dry/sticky petrol residue! And its leading me to believe, that when I put petrol in the car because of the pressure that builds up in the system when I'm driving its passing through the failed float seal and letting vapours in to the cabin! All I want to know is what seal to use as the fumes are putting me off driving my MA8 and if I have windows down it makes is worse because it wafts fumes about!
  17. Btw I do all the work on my car myself, just went garages to see what they think it is.
  18. Well sine my MA has been on the road I've noticed she's wearing tyres from the inside, I know that means the tracking is out. But my drivers side front wheel is slightly closer to the sill than the passenger side! Been around few garages today to try and source the problem, but most are saying I need to change the lot, well they would say that so they can make money haha! But I'm sure its the lower wish bone that needs changing because it looks slightly bent, the scrappers are saying £10 for lower wish bone or £25 for the complete drivers side front suspension setup, don't know what to do??
  19. When I unsersealed my car I made sure to check the fuel filler pipe for corrosion but there wasn't any so I undersealed it, the smell is deffinatly coming from behind the drivers side rear bench when I lift it up.
  20. That's true its still on its original factory clutch at 108k miles but its on its way haha ill just put a stage 1 clutch on it so its not too snappy.
  21. I'm not too sure I was just having a quick browse, but there is definatly something holding my MA8 back at the low revs, I know because I have been in another one and it picked up a lot better than mine :/ any suggestions as what it could be that's holding her back would be great
  22. Just been looking on the net about the EGR (engine gas recurculation valve) on my D14 and was wondering if mine could be dodgy? Because it can let carbon into the inlet manifold and cause the engine to be less rev happy? Could explain why my car has flat spots sometimes through the rev range, and has a lot of thick carbon build up in the back box (I'm forever cleaning it daily) I've had mates follow me when my foot is flat to the floor and no smoke at all comes out. Somethings not rite :/
  23. Just been for a drive in my MA today and noticed I can strongly smell petrol inside the car! Over the past few days I could faintly smell petrol when I was driving about, but thought the car was over fueling or something like that? But now its got worse and I don't really want to drive it till its fixed, I've had a look to find out what it could be... And as soon as I lifted up the rear bench the smell of petrol was too much, and under the seat and carpets are damp and sticky with the stuff, so it must have been going on for a while, the previous owner of my MA needs shooting!! Anyway does anyone know how I go about repairing this issue as its got to be the seal around the top of the float? Can I use some sort of sealant to fix? As it needs sorting ASAP!!! Thanks
  24. My MA8 is only on 108k miles which is nothing for a D-series, I've not long got back in from going tracks as soon as I pulled up in the car park people were coming over and going is that a B18 etc... NO! its just a 1.4 LoL they were even doing a reg check on it haha! Noone would belive me, they saying it sounds and goes a lot more than a 1.4, but then again I am a pretty confident driver and know how to get the most out of what I drive. I've been able to drive a car from about the age of 10!
