  1. After going on a proper drive in her I must say its like a different car! So more responsive than before and pulls past a ton easy not saying how much lol also have my mugen seat belt pads and boxing gloves for rearview.
  2. Nice little MA looks tidy, glad to see another join the club
  3. Well she's all sorted now I used that link to bleed the rad for air-lock and I must say it worked a treat and have also sorted the p.a.s out. Went for a blast in her today and she does have more get up and go now! Its a rocket compared to the D14 ill upload more pics soon and maybe a video too.
  4. Good news!! She's up and running now! I've only been on a short trip in her at the minute as I'm sorting out the small issue I have with the bottom rad hose staying cold.. Probs just airlock? And also the power steering is making a funny noise aswell. but its only a few niggly bits that need sorting now! And then I can go for a calm spin HAHA
  5. Well KiNK43 I was going to use the d14 loom but couldn't be bothered to change the plugs for the ecu over, so its quicker to pull the dash and swap them. I've got some mental health issues that don't help with my anger that's why the wing got folded.. Also Ammar you can come for a spin when she's sorted, should be s**t off a shovel compared to the hopless D14, and even quicker when she has a turbo fitted
  6. I didn't have time to clean engine up yet but will do when we get better weather.
  7. The D16 is now in my MA8 !!! After p**sing about in rain I've managed to get the engine in after losing my temper at a ratchet that decided to break... Gave the pass side wing a booting in the process!! So I will have to buy a new wing now.. But on the bright side the engine was easy to drop in, and everything else is now fitted (more than what's on the pic) I just have the dash loom to swap now so she should be up and running tomorrow need to get an 1.6 SR badge too
  8. Cheers kink43 I've just got an ocd about electrics always thinking something will go wrong
  9. Thanks mate I will try it, just didn't want my ecu to mess up if I take it out. But it looks like obd1 plugs to me though.
  10. The camera on my phone is a bit weird sorry mate. Taking the engine out etc is easy! Not much too these d series.. Just seing if using my d14 dash loom was plug and play, after wiring in Vtec, OPS, and O2 sensor.. Because its quicker than having to take my MA8's dash out.
  11. The firt pic is the MC1's PDT E12 ecu, the second is the MA8's P1J E11 ecu, will the PDT ecu fit my MA8?
  12. She sure will have move poke dave just still spliting the obd2a dash loom for my obd1 ma8 so I don't have to swap the lot over.. Also My d14 dash loom has only 3 plugs blanked off at the shock tower, so is swaping/spliting the dash looms really necessary?
  13. The D16 is getting put into my MA8 soon I carn't wait! No more D14 for me she will finally have a bit more poke to go with her looks I also have a turbo in mind.. but ill just get the D16 fully serviced first and see what its like in my MA
  14. Its ready to be put in my MA as soon as I get my head around the wiring loom But there's not much info on this site for d14 to d16 swap..
  15. Nice upgrade on the mani, looks exactly the same as the one on the D16 I'm putting in my ma8
  16. I'm sure my ma8 is OBD1, and the deck's OBD2a
  17. I will be removing the d16 from the deck tomorrow, I know I don't have to swap the whole engine loom as the connection is the same that goes that goes through the bulkhead on the left (viewing from engine bay). Its just the the right hand side loom that will need swaping over that goes to ecu etc... So when I take the engine out I'm going to remove it with the loom attached, makes things more easy
  18. Well I have an engine hoist coming on saturday so the engine swap will be happening I have found some more info on the D16W4 engine, and it's just a re-stamped D16Y8, with slight alteration to the EGR valve for the deck.
  19. I've removed the whole dash from the Mc1, not a lot of work involved. But know I need to find out what looms need to be swapped over? Is it just the loom around the passanger footwell area that needs changing over? As the loom that runs from the interior fuse box to engine seems the same! Even the box junctions under the bonnet are the same colour wires on the left in my MA8, its just the box junctions on the right that's under the bonnet are different (where as my MA has been capped off) so is it just the Ecu wiring that needs to be swapped over?
  20. That decks still going just checked on the dvla.
  21. Does anyone know what the obd is on my late model civic Ma8 D14A2 1996 P reg? And also the obd of my donor Mc1 aerodeck D16W4 2001 X reg? I Need to know more info, because if I do have to swap the dash loom, will the new one connect up to the rest of my MA? I will put some pics up in my project thread of the engine swap when the wiring side of things is sorted
  22. I may be putting the d16w4 engine in this week if all goes well, I just need to sort the wiring loom out, and trying to see if anyone on here has done a d14 to d16 engine swap?
