  1. Ok...i'm 99% sure, that i would like to have a K-swap in my Aerodeck and at the moment i'm collecting as much information as possible. I ask myself if the hybrid-racing EG swap kit engine mounts would fit the M models...??? http://www.hybrid-racing.com/store/k20-swap-kit-starter-by-hybrid-racing.html
  2. @DAVEMB2: What kind of engine mounts have been used for the swap...???
  3. So what kind of engine it's gonna be...???
  4. Ok...i was p**sed for a while now but at the same time i started to think about a solution for my problem. So i decided to replace some more parts, before the next problem shows up. Masterplan: - find a replacement fuel tank - install new fuel lines Talking about fuel lines...instead of getting regular stiff fuel lines, i was thinking of getting flexible ones: 304 stainless steel flex braid on high quality nitrile rubber hose...easy to cut with a hacksaw for custom installation. Plus, they exceed all OEM specifications and are approved for use with all types of gasoline, diesel fuel, and octane boosters. Main benefit: flexible lines are easy to install under the car...!!! That's my idea so far...has someone installed flexible fuel lines before...???
  5. Bloody fuxxxx hell...!!! Yesterday i wanted to check what exhaust bracket isn't 100% leakproof...motor on - me on the ground under the car and what did i see...??? The car is losing fuel...coming from an ugly rusty hole upside of my fuel tank...!!! I really hate that brown plague...!!! I will need a replacement fuel tank as soon as possible...makes me going mad...you fix something and the next problem shows up.
  6. So far so good...what i didn't expect: the manifold seems to turn out lower than OEM. Not much space to the ground at the lowest point of the exhaust (cat):
  7. Thx...!!! The manifold was about 90 £ and the centre pipe around 45 £. Centre pipe is a used one - middle mounting points had to be changed to fit the car...it was driven on a EG6 before.
  8. Hmmmm...i was searching for the bumper protector to see if i can find one for you...mission impossible I did not think it's that rare...!!!
  9. Nice colour change
  10. This video is from last night after work...filmed inside with my smartphone - so don't expect a high quality sound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7-pp-vMoHg Slow driving in the beginning...after green light a short tunnel run...it was late at night plus i was really tired...just a quick teaser. But it sounds like there is a leaky spot...i think coming from the exhaust brackets...so i will need some fire gum.
  11. Ok...job done...full exhaust change front to back this weekend...!!! Manifold installation Looking good The cat converter had to be extended by 4 inch...otherwise midpipe + backbox was not possible to mount on the car. I have no pics of it...but this will be replaced by a 200 cells converter sooner or later anyway. Here is the new mid section Testing the pipes for the backbox backbox adjustment...mounting points had to be changed for exact fitment This is the final result...that's near the look i was searching for: Because Saturday the backbox was not finished, i had to drive without it. What should i say...??? That was like a jet taking off...!!! Total overkill...ear punishment...!!! Now with the new backbox it's ok for a daily driver...comfortable when driving normal and sporty in higher revs. I think a few weeks later the sound will change a bit more and become even better. Sound-Videos to come
  12. That's what i thought...!!! Respect for all the work you put in your daily...!!! It's a great motivation for my own daily to put more effort into it.
  13. Yes, i have seen it...but is this the final result or still work to do...???
  14. Wire tuck means a shaved engine bay...??? Are you planning to repaint the engine bay? Looking forward for any progress...and please: pics, pics, pics...!!!
  15. I'm really loooking forward for the first test drive when everything is installed...!!! The standard exhaust system on the MB9 is a shame...so there should be a noticeable difference...!!!
  16. Finally i've got all new exhaust parts...today my new 4-2-1 header got delievered...!!! The whole exhaust should bring some extra power to my D15Z8...very welcome...!!! The custom backbox will have to wait until i have some more money. For now i bought this one: At least i will get the style of endpipe design i'm looking for...i will have to adapt it to fit my car, but this should be no problem. I'm planning to do all work the upcoming weekend.
  17. Here we are...i was lucky to buy a nice custom made stainless steel mid pipe...it got delievered today:
  18. I will have to get a custom one build...instead of a straight pipe with an absorber. But i think it's possible to get a similar look.
  19. Yeah...that's a very special racing exhaust...can't beat the style & sound...!!!
  20. The problem here in germany is to get a street legal custom exhaust...!!! But since yesterday, there's no question...i need a new back box: Mhhhhhhhhhh Mhhhhhhhh Holy crap...what an ugly peace of shxx...!!!
  21. I think i will connect a manual on/off switch to the fan motor - so i can switch the fan on when needed.
  22. I have the same problem...my fan doesn't turn on even at high engine temperatures...!!! I have no idea, if there's a sensor problem or what?
  23. Welcome to my world...!!! LOL Actually, my slomo project is waiting for some exhaust parts to be delivered... first part: OEM 4-2-1 manifold I still have no ideas for my backbox...??? My prefered look is a straight pipe like the Buddy Club Spec 2: But that's way too loud for daily use...i don't like to become public enemy #1 So i will have to go with something like this here to get a similar look: I will have to get a custom build...there's not much choice out there for the Aerodeck.
  24. Hahaha...only for pain enthusiasts...!!!
