    Brake problem

Well I found the cause, burst rear brake pipe between the flexi and rear wheel cylinder on the osr. Will get the pipe and fittings tomorrow and have ago at making up a new one.

    Brake problem

Checked the brake fluid when I arrived at work and it was low, was full last night. Going to bring it in the workshop when I finish and have a look about. Surely if it's lost that much fluid there'll be an obvious leak?

    Brake problem

hi guys, just fitted my ep3 calipers and discs to my ej8 civic. I bled the system using a one man bleeder and the brakes were removed from my previous coupe so I know they were working good. I had a nice firm pedal but when driving the pedal goes down to the floor. I couldn't see any obvious leaks. When driving and pumping the pedal it makes no difference (pedal dosent get harder) for some reason there is no chechk valve in the brake booster pipe, was like this when I bought the car and the calipers that were on before worked. They did however feel weird, pedal would change from firm to soft when breaking, and the idle would go up and down when the brakes un pressed. Could this be one of the problems? Faulty master cylinder? It has a 1" master cylinder and I do have a spare I could fit. Any help would be appreciated.s
  5. Fixing some of the bodges today
  6. Yeah it would've been mate. Swapped it with a guy in fife.
  7. Oh really? What about the old ball and Spring? Will they just be floating about in the gearbox now? Pm me how much you'd want for them.
  8. Cheers mate. I love the mb6 you have. Seen it in the flesh when Ali had it.
  9. And that could be done with the box still attached to the block? Just remove the bolts further down from the circled ones, and that part will pull away? Might be worth a shot. You can come down the gears and roll in fourth, but once you try and accelerate it pops out.
  10. You make it sound easy lol
  11. Cool man. Think it will be easier if I get another box as I struggle for time but il definitely strip the box once iv got another one fitted. S80 box would be amazing, just not sure if I can afford one lol there is a y21 gearbox local that I fancy.
  12. Hmmm interesting. I don't really fancy pulling it a part and making a James blunt of it. Wanting to source a replacement and then id have time to strip it down for a look. Quite interested in building a gearbox back up
  13. It seems very planted with the miester r coilovers Also with the powersteering removed you feel like you get a lot more feedback too. Pulls really well considering it's only a 1.6. The ratios in the s4c box are a lot better than the s9b I had in the mb6. Il be on the hunt for a new gearbox as this one dosent drive in 4th. You can select 4th when coming down the gears, free wheel etc but as soon as you try drive it pops out. Was one of the reasons the car was so cheap.
  14. Now got the coupe up and running and using it on the road. Still a few things to sort but I'm enjoying driving it.
  15. Fuel lines are OK mate. Fitted a spare distributer from my b18c4 and the cars now running sweet
  16. Tried it first thing this morning and it won't start! Going to try the other dizzy after work.
  17. Yeah I'm wanting to get in filled with some v power and an additive. Just want to make sure il make it lol we noticed that it's missing a few earth wires so I'm going to make some with up at work tomorrow too.
  18. Wee update. Rob (Honda man)came round to have a look at the car. Started it with the old plugs in and it ran fine, just a slight misfire! Tried some good plugs in that he had and it started and idled great. Just went back to it a couple hours later and straight away it was running rough on idle. Managed to drive it down the road and managed to get vtec with no eml but still coughing and spluttering. There wasn't a fuel filter fitted when I bought the car, iv since fitted one but could it be bad fuel? The guy had ran the tank really low and with no filter Going to try a different dizzy on it tomorrow and see if that helps.
  19. I think the number is something to do with the heat range, I think b16bs are meant to have 7s so these 6's should be ok? Plug gaps were fine. Don't know why the filter wasn't fitted mate, Cowboys! Could a clogged fuel filter cause this?
  20. hi guys looking for some advice. Recently bought a ej8 with a b16a2 conversion done. Car started and drove fine on the test drive etc. It was then parked up for a few weeks whilst I sorted some bits out around the car. Had to jump start it to get started for taking it down the work shop to build the exhaust. It was running a bit rough and eventually cut out and would just cough and backfire when I tried to start it. With some help over the phone from @robthedoc i checked the timing was ok (which it was) but noticed the plugs had a massive gap and looked old. Closed the gap and the car started, but sounds like it's not running on all cylinders. Tonight I changed the oil and filter and fitted some ngk plugs. The car now won't start. The codes on the plugs are slightly different, the old ones are ngk.....5.. And the new ones ngk....6.. ( can't mind the actual code) could it be that iv been supplied the wrong plugs? Really need to get this running for the weekend as my other coupe has sold. There wasn't a fuel filter in the engine bay. It was just piped from the fitting to the banjo, but iv since fitted the correct filter and bracket. Could it be bad fuel too? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
  21. Yeah they're nice comfy seats and as you say you can get them cheap, £20 in my case lol the frames do require a wee bit cutting and welding.
  22. Yeah think they're circuit 8s, got them for a good price but two have some curbing that ideally needs sorted. Iv actually used the Impreza rails. Think I just slotted the front holes a bit. The rears I cut off and just re-welded so they lined up. Will get some pics when I'm next at it. Finding it a bit difficult to get a nice constant weld/technique with tig welding, only done it a few times. Practice makes perfect tho
  23. Thanks guys. Rotas do look nice. And yes the black fella is the one I'm keeping. Gold ones on gumtree the now but not getting much luck. The mother in law needs a car so I'm going to see if she'd buy it lol
  24. Accords looking sweet mate! Hope you and the family are well!
  25. Hi guys, not been on here for a wee while now since I swapped my aerodeck last year. Swapped for a ej6 coupe which I had planned on putting my b18c4 into. Spent a bit of time fitting some bits and pieces and gathering parts for converting it from a d series to b. Some pics... So I fitted a ek9 grill and front lip and done a wee bit colour doing. Fitted Impreza turbo front seats (£20 bargain) wind deflectors, sunstrip, short shifter, Kode steering wheel, Rita circuits 15" et38, 300mm ep3 front brakes, 5zigen border 304 back box with custom pipe work that I done myself, new number plates, generally just cleaning it up. Was browsing the Facebook for sale pages one day and seen a b16 converted ej8 coupe, local and for much cheapness. It was needing some work but with the parts fitted to it I thought that I could combine the two cars to make one good one. It's a clean base but needs tidying. Has a purple passengers side wing, silver grill, washer bottle motor not working, bolts missing, exhaust hitting fuel tank, short shifter snapped, leaking radiator and gearbox is missing 4th lol but for £900 I think it's not bad. Has miester r coilovers, vti fan blades, aem v2, skunk2 alpha manifold, cat back exhaust with buddyclub back box, skunk2 lcas and beaks bar. Iv had it 3 weeks now and made a start swapping and fixing things. So far iv repaired exhaust manifold, made a manifold back b pipe, fitted new washer pump, Rita wheels, Impreza seats,Kode wheel, centre console, linkages and short shifter, painted wing and grill. Still need to service it and fit my 300mm brakes. Think it will be nice in the end
