  1. Looking forward to seeing this again. Would love to go out for a spin in it @burbleboy
  2. All 4 are now painted white. I really need a better area for painting. Got a few bits of dust, dirt, flys in the paint lol but they look good so far, better than a rattle can job. I'm sure with more practice il get a better technique and mixing combo.
  3. Thanks guys. It's a lot easier welding thicker stuff. I'd hate todo car sills, so thin and it's not always easy to get clean metal. Fired up my compressor today and had my first go with the spray gun attachment. Found some old red oxide primer I bought years ago, thinned it down and had a go. Turning out pretty good!next up white
  4. Nice build mate! Would love a turbo'd deck. Seen race lands turbo kit for £1600 but would like to know the overalls cost of it all. My knowledge on turbos is very limited lol good luck with the build
  5. @Grant iv had no bother with balancing so far, infact the last set didn't need any weights at all! Here's some mig action from work the other week It's arc welding I tend todo more of out in the plants etc. iv had a go a tig welding and it's something is like todo more of. Wanting to buy the tig torch and consumables for the machine at work so I can practice and eventually make my own exhaust.
  6. I'm lucky that I was shown how to weld by guys that use to build ships etc so they knew what they were on about. My trade is a mechanical engineer and my previous employer didn't like us welding as they had their own welders. One thing i was told tho is that welding is just a skill, the more you practice the better you'll get. Once you learn what to look for and how to control the weld it becomes easy. YouTube is good for advice and tips!
  7. Yeah I'm hoping I will achieve the look I'm going for.
  8. That's the last wheel now fully welded. Went for arc welding this one, preferred this welding method as it's a lot slower and I felt I got better weld penetration (easy tom!) Got wife's mot todo tomorrow so gonna ask they guy to take the wheels off my old steelies. Decks now sporting it's old weak fitment vtis rims.
  9. Cheers guys! @kryzs my current 195/45s from the front 8" rims will be fitted. Got the second wheel all cut and tacked up, removed the steelies from the at and back on te vtis rims. Need to get the tyres removed and get the wheels refurbed up for the meet
  10. Cheers Craig! Iv got one of the 9js fully welded and today I painted it. I used a spray gun at work and ordered some 2k white. Its my first time using a gun and 2k paint, the finish is awesome tho I got some runs tho as I'm a bit impatient lol so gonna sand them down and paint all four wheels at the same time when iv got them ready. Excited to see how they turn out
  11. Yep need to respray my front lip before the meet lol
  12. Good effort mate! Hope it all works out for you, can't beat the feeling of doing things like that yourself
  13. Also what spec are your wheels and tyres? Wondered if I could get 9s on the front of mine.

  15. Cheers Dave! It's not mint but she's presentable lol yeah I use to stay in wallyford and worked in leith. We've now moved to humbie and in working at a local sawmill 2 miles from the house defo up for a catch up before the meet @Dave as I'm off for two weeks from the 25th. Will check with the wife what we have on but could always meet one night.
  16. Love it mate! Has to be the best deck around. I also have a non abs prop valve and need to get around to properly removing the old unit. Could it be done with engine in place?
  17. With the news of the scottish meet coming I had a sudden burst of enthusiasm for getting bits sorted on the car. Iv bought a fitted new number plates a the old ones were pretty worn. Went hunting at the local scrappy and found a mgzs which I got the sideskirts from, gave them a quick spray with satin black on nightshift and got them fitted. They sit a lot closer to the ground than the standard skirts met up with a friend that ha some front team heko wind deflectors that he bought 5 years ago for his coupe and turned out to be the wrong fitment. So he offered them to me for free! Good guy! Not so good news is that my previous super glue repair on the wing mirror has given up was hoping to find a complete replacement door in time for the meet, there was one at the scrappy but it had been dented by the forklift but another positive is that iv managed to source another two accord steel wheels! Going to band them to 9" using my new cutting jig at the house. Had a bit time to give the car a quick clean and polished the back box up...
  18. Yeah it a universal thing. Comes in a length and you just work it around the lip/bumper and then trim it down.
  19. It's called a rhino lip, can be found on eBay @simpo
  20. Nice accord! I had a 2002 sport. Really liked it but just wished I'd went for a type r ...
  21. Cheers guys! I do still have it up for swaps on gumtree ATM. Fancy something rwd to do a bit of drifting in. Still in two minds as I do love the deck, so ain't letting it go for buttons or the wrong car.
  22. I was surprised at the fronts for sticking tbh, it's usually the rears that give problems. 8.5" on the back mate. I have cut and rolled bands which would give me 9" and 10" steelies. Just need to source some other steels and then I'm good to go
  23. Been doing a bit maintenance recently. In the past 3 months iv replaced both front calipers and now the nsr caliper. All of them began to start sticking one after the other lol didn't take any pics of the work but here's a couple if the car... Really wanting wider steels now! Especially on the front as I feel the 8" ones ain't filling the arches much
