  1. Yeah I'll take vids next month, as well as document the audio build haha, gonna be fun tearing up the streets of London in this, 0-29.666421mph pull sound good Roj? Nah gotta preserve fuel haha my car's drinking atm. Looks good though!
  2. Thanks man, yeah the lights will be a welcome upgrade haha my golf had Angel eyes and CSL (rep) wheels but my BMW has neither, time to change that.. And dw man maybe next time! Yeah it's all in the cabin and the best bit is it all looks standard so people wonder what you've done to it!
  3. LOL you do get some vibrations depending on where your seat is placed over the subwoofer, e.g. slid back a bit, you get vibration and thump, it's awesome though cause all the bass is in the cabin, not from the back.
  4. Aaaaand a long overdue update! First things first the audio is fitted, no pictures of this because it all looks.. well, stock? Which is what I wanted from the sound system. The full speclist of my audio goes: BMW Professional MP3 CD Headunit recoded to Hi-Fi (the base system has a weird EQ on it that compensates for the lack of tweeters it has) Alpine front component speakers with alpine tweeters (x2) New door trims for both front doors with tweeter grilles (x2) Harman Kardon Logic 7 8.5" Underseat Subwoofers (x2) Alpine 4 channel amp for front components and underseat subwoofers. Non audio but still interior mods: CREE interior bulbs.. 14 of them! - Here but not fitted. Digital speedo coded into the central speedo display which is GPS accurate, brilliant for hooning and makes me feel like I'm in a racing game... Biggest recent mod that arrived today (Ignore the messy bed): Genuine BMW E90 Facelift angel eye headlights, ordered CREE LED angel eyes so when they arrive (typical me forgetting it was a four day weekend so Tuesday!) then they'll get fitted. That's progress for now, thanks for reading.
  5. That backbox looks familiar (It was in my room for 3 1/2 years!) And yeah I bet it sounds awesome, can't wait for vids or to hear it in person next month. My neighbourhoods gonna suffer even more, it was bad enough with my E90's audio being done now. Today was a good day. No ice cube.
  6. Looks good Mr DIY, Glad that sticker is getting some good use as well as my others! Sounds so awesome in that video to 29mph and then to 69.8mph video you sent me, really does sound better than your MB6.. for now! Nice mods on this one now focus on the MB6!
  7. Vinyl wrap it matte black, if you don't like it then paint it colour code. Dadoneeee.
  8. As said on facebook/WhatsApp, looks so much better with that grille now! And I like how you're taking my suggestions on board regarding bulbs and plates and badges haha car's really starting to take shape man, can't wait to work on this in May now! PS. We has becauseracecars.
  9. Because why not? Because of my mate. Your boot is 1 Muay Thai Fighter size. Bulbs look good man, it's a shame they're not as blue as mine but that may be due to H4 vs H7 and the way the housing is designed. Interior bulbs are epic though!
  10. Looks brilliant as you know, any idea when the bulbs are arriving? Your MB3 will have a new purple paintjob!
  11. Was a really good day out, I'm sure we'll get lower times next time, drag racing bug as got me! Yeah you've got the same foglight and headlight bulbs as me so it'd look really good and we'll match at meets haha! Thanks though but yours will probably come out nicer because they're frosted! New fogs look sick! Can't wait to see them with the same CREE's as me it's going to look epic! More progress soon to come in May
  12. Sooo updates updates... Well yesterday I turned 21 so for my 21st birthday me and some mates decided to go to Santa Pod for the RWYB day.. And what a day it was! Weather was brilliant and I did 3 runs, 2 of which were against Roj and had an overall good day. Here are some pics of mine and Roj's MB6 together aswell as our timeslip from our best run. All my runs were with a passenger which added 80kg to the car, and 3/4 tank fuel as well as running on absolutely terrible runflats. I managed to run a 15.6 at 88mph with a very good 60ft time of 2.2 for the tyres I was on, as well as it being my 3rd run ever at Pod. Some pics with Roj's MB6: This is the timeslip for Roj and me on our best run, Roj on the left and me on the right. Well chuffed with our results and very very close races too haha there's nothing in it till 3rd gear but RWD launches harder than FWD in this case! Some pics are stolen from Roj but I'm sure he won't mind! Was a great day and I hope next time if I haven't got my new car already we can run again, and you'll get into the 15's and I'm going to try and get 15.3 with a passenger and break 14's solo!
  13. Hey man thanks for attending my birthday at Santa Pod! Was a fun weekend and was nice finally seeing the MB6.. and racing against you, very good races haha I'll post the pics up in my thread then you can steal the ones you want for yours! Fogs are a nice addition you just need some cree bulbs like mine. PS. It was foggy.
  14. Congrats on 200 posts! Haha looking real scene now, best work car ever! Was fun going to meets with you arriving in this thing then showing other more powerful cars what it can do.. Tenpin comes to mind I look forward to all the experimental mods you'll do on this you crazy guy LOL.
  15. Roj it's still pretty clean but meh I'll give it a rinse over maybe tomorrow if I have time! Be nice seeing the MB6 and getting some pics and vids haha Also an update on the audio front, it's still not fitted yet BUT I have just purchased two new underseat subwoofers. The standard items were 6.25" a piece and really not that punchy or powerful and I thought if I'm going through the trouble of amping speakers etc I'd really want some more bass, so £215 later (modifying BMWs make my old Jap cars look silly cheap) I've purchased some Logic7/Harman Kardon subwoofers from an M3 which are 8.5" each and much more powerful. They're also PLUG AND PLAY! And fit under the seats perfectly with enclosures. This means I'll effectively have two 8's under my front seats, and amped Alpine front speakers. Happy bunny Shafz is.
  16. I've been waiting for this for 8 years.. just like you have! Haha good luck with the car and I'll see it on Sunday, will be nice to see how this unfolds. PS. I'll be doing your audio as you know . PS. You forgot window tint Subscribed. Shafz.
  17. I can swap the subs out for any shallow mount 8" sub or a straight swap would be the BMW Logic7 subs. These subs are made to run off amplifier though cause they're rated for what the Alpine Amp actually gives them but the headunit is giving them something woeful like 15w RMS each. I got into audio because of my mates and cousins always having subwoofers and sound systems and always being around good Hi-Fi systems. I got my first car and it was a 1997 Toyota Starlet with a radio cassette deck and 2 speakers so I got to tinkering with bigger front speakers, made my first stealth shelf etc then moved onto amplification and subwoofers and the rest was history. So when I got this BMW which was a £35k car new to realise it didn't even have component speakers, to say I was disappointed was an understatement! Car audio is one of those things that are very sensitive to your ears though, what might sound good for you may not sound good for someone else etc so it's all about tinkering!
  18. I'm hopefully wiring up and amping Rojs MB6 in the coming months and doing a little audio build in it (not show car stuff, just clean install) and hopefully he documents it for that build thread! Amped speakers make a massive difference, I've got a friend who's very much into subwoofer box construction and audio and was a fitter at halfords who moved onto custom stuff and he made my friend an enclosure for his 4500W RMS GroundZero subwoofer, absolutely insane bass haha I just want a little punch to go with the vocals. That's a good point actually, how did you get into car audio as such?
  19. My car has underseat subwoofers as standard, but they're powered by the headunit. The Alpine upgrade consists of a 4 channel amplifier and front speakers and tweeters and the amplifier will then amp the front speakers and the underseat subwoofers for more punch!
  20. I had uprated amplified Hertz components front and rear, Pioneer headunit, and a ported JBL 12" subwoofer in my MK4 Golf and since then I can't have normal standard audio cause it sounds so underpowered and tinny. The annoying thing is my BMW hasn't got folding rear seats so I can't do the usual boot subwoofer for bass as it's well sealed and wouldn't enter the cabin, hence the alpine upgrade is perfect.
  21. The best sound system I've heard OEM wise is the Lexus IS220d with the mark levinson and Satnav, that stereo system is absolutely amazing and makes Audi BOSE sound tinny in comparison. BMW individual is good but was also a pricey option which mine unfortunately doesn't have. My friend has an A3 without BOSE for the exact reason that it's easier to upgrade yourself and swap stuff out so it exceeds BOSE. Also NIKH25 that was the 2010 Lexus SC430 haha I saw that too!
  22. My mates an Audi service technician and tells me countless stories about how annoying they are to work on audio wise. The BOSE system is really good for a standard system! And yeah the Alpine Upgrade actually has an official BMW parts number and official BMW stickers on the speaker magnets etc. It was made for people with the base stereo like me to have a stereo slightly better than the premium one, and it is legitimately plug and play, no cutting wires and works with the factory headunit so all looks OEM! This is true
  23. As Roj can confirm, I'm very much into audio having been in my old starlet and seeing videos of my MK4 Golf a couple years back. The standard system in the BMW isn't that good as it doesn't even have tweeters! So this Alpine upgrade is actually an OEM solution from BMW that's plug and play and is really good from what I've read/seen. Thanks for the comments about the lights though, one of my favourite things about the car now!
  24. Alright alright Roj! I'll get the pics up.. Firstly the car got washed/waxed and looked brilliant so I took a pic of it which shows the paint colour and old taillights before I swapped them out. I then installed the new Blacklines with the help of a mate and I am very happy with how they turned out.. Lights off: Lights on (sidelight/headlight): Nighttime (note headlight colour): I also received my alpine upgrade I've wanted since I got the car which should be fitted before my birthday if everything goes well!
