It's worse

That's also the article which shows the proven gains Haha the standard alarm is VERY good as an alarm.. just temperamental. Tbh before I got the problem sorted it stopped me from starting the car when I had the key.. so good luck to any thieves LOL. PS. Roj my area's not THAT bad
-
I'm focussing more on performance so will be doing the Hondata Airbox mod soon as it gives a dyno proven 2-3bhp, as well as other little things like Mugen (replica probably) spoiler, factory shade of tint on the windows, repaint the calipers, things like that.
-
It was Hamilton and something.. Can't remember the something though that made the alarms, yeah they're awful alarms but just gotta live with it
-
Yeah mine has the square black fob which is an absolute ballache lol, late '02 car, what fob does yours have?
-
Yeah it was the change into 4th that the 325i started to pull away IIRC And yes we shall Small update: Fixed a battery issue I had which kept immobilising the car, as the prefacelift alarms aren't the smartest tbh... Also got used to the exhaust now, it's still extremely loud but I can live with it, just have to be really careful when I start the car as the K20A2 idles quite high and it is quite loud on cold starts. Puts a smile on my face every time I drive it though! Instagrammed pic of l'exhaust:

Yeah the soonest they're saying I could get it is the 26th, as I paid him on the 30th of last month
-
He hasn't contacted me since he sent the 'other' driveshaft, no fb messages, hasn't replied to me on fb chat despite having updated his status and commented on people I knows posts etc, he's not even responding to paypal. So I don't know if I'll get my money back
-
Thanks it sounds incredible in real life haha, I'd have to agree with you with the shorter ratios being a good and a bad point, but around a track the way an EP3 corners, you'd need a very very well sorted MB6 to keep up IMO, the EP3 was the fastest hatch around the 'ring for a while too, but we'll see about the straight line thing when I meet up with Roj for some '0-30's' and '30-70s' before japfest2 I got the driveshaft done along with the new brakes on Monday, but not the driveshaft the guy sent me.. as it still hasn't arrived.. 2 weeks later. PayPal are taking their time with a claim too as it wasn't done via eBay. Ahh, I always loved black EP3s, silver was my second choice as all Milano EP3s are now pink, problem with black is it's a right pain to maintain.
-
Top end my EP3 pulls harder than my 325i, which pulled harder than @Roj MB6.. not that we know how we know that ofcourse, ahem. and ah I was gonna get silver but I'd always wanted a nighthawk non AC if preface, Cosmic if facelift. I have a mate who had an 05 EP3 that got rear ended so he's offering me the headlights for mates rates
-
You have one of these too? Wonderful cars aren't they, tame when commuting but go like a stabbed rat when you're on it, having owned both which one is actually quicker in the real world? Yeah I've been offered facelift headlights cheap but I'm a bit tight on money atm so will be getting them another time, and good call on the silvatecs I'll get some after my Hekos!

When you watch it you'll know

4" Exit haha, yeah the stock B pipe is tiny, but I've got believe it or not the silenced midpipe.. and it sounds like that. I know right.
-
And the exhaust is on, and hooooly crap it's loud, like LOUD, the centre section hangs a bit low and I've already scraped it on a speedbump But the new exhaust system is amazing, car feels faster, definitely sounds faster.. sounds like a Honda now. Up on the ramp you go! Byebye old restrictive blowing exhaust! Hellloo new noisemaker! And a video.. I should really invest in a phoneholder.
-
It was funny because at Santa Pod your temps were high then the moment you blasted the 1/4 mile at incredible speed (ahem), the temps would drop right down haha

Gone all OEM cause any more noise and I won't make it on track unfortunately, plus money. I plan to go full mani and decat when I K100/map anyway

The standard cat was so rusted that the flange on the end of it, if my uncle/mechanic was to undo the bolts or put any tension on it whatsoever, the cat would've cracked. The flange was also rusted so thin it was apparently 'thinner than the cardboard box the exhaust came in' - so new cat ordered. That probably explains my relatively poor fuel economy and some performance issues. So as of Wednesday hopefully I will have a new cat, new centre section and new backbox. Hopefully.

The pre-facelift had less sound deadening. Exhaust couldn't get done today due to a hitch with my catalytic converter. Driveshaft and brakes were done though and all working well.
-
Nope! I'm going to go 75 in 6th later to see if it drones properly bad then assess the situation from there, but it can't be THAT bad surely...
-
Yeah there's quite a lot of aftermarket for the EP3, but no real good forums for it as far as I know! Good news! Car is in the garage as I type this for driveshaft/brakes/exhaust.
-
If it's an itch you have to scratch then go for it, but then EP3s are plentiful so you can always wait a lot longer if needed
-
Ah the MB6 and EP3 are completely different and brilliant in their own ways, bang for buck an MB6 is better but I dunno there's something about the EP3 I just LOVE. Very very capable cars and K20 + about £1k mods = 250bhp and a lot of torque (for a Honda) which will make it eat much much more powerful cars. Plus it's the practicality aspect even though it's a 3 door... although my subs ruined that
-
Krzys you're right, nothing like an old fashioned face to face transaction.. And if you wanna ask anything specific let me know, they're incredible cars bang for buck right now, I love love driving it and this is someone who's owned a six cylinder BMW which when new was 2.5x as expensive and slightly more powerful, I really do prefer the ep3 in some ways!

Was via a facebook page mate not ebay, the thing is my mates have used him before and he was a genuine seller, he won't reply to my messages either. People these days. So he has my money plus the £12 he spent on postage in his pocket. Oh well what goes around comes around. End of the day my car's being done and I've done the right thing.

This is true, except it may shake the rest of the car to pieces in order to drown out the new exhaust. Sooo driveshaft update! The guy scammed me, long story short. He didn't send out the first one when he said he did, the second one he sent out on Monday miraculously got lost on Tuesday, even parcelforce can't find this so called package that was sent despite the tracking saying its lost.. upon closer inspection of the receipt he provided for sending it, it said 2.7KG. I'm no mechanic but I'm fairly certain a driveshaft for an EP3 and packaged weighs a fair bit more than 2.7KG. So I did what I should've done in the first place. Went to a local breakers cash in hand, found an EP3 being broken and got the driveshaft off it. The complete thing. Cost a bit more but to be honest I just wanted the driveshaft in person and no messing, prefer a face to face deal to an internet one as there's less complications. I'm unhappy with the seller and I'm opening a dispute but I don't see how it'll go in my favour due to him having proof he sent 'something' off, and the original transaction being over 14 days ago. Oh well he can keep my £30 scummy b'tard, it's more the 2 weeks of hassle and inconvenience that's annoyed me. HOWEVER! As the new driveshaft is in my possession my car can be done on Monday, hurrah!
