Yeah probably going to paint it black. Good news! The Dacia San... Driveshaft is not in my possession! However he's posted 'another' one which should be here Wednesday (express48 delivery) with proof of receipt etc, so hopefully it does come Wednesday as I might to pay to swap insurance to the BMW and back for the mean time just to minimize risk of damage. It's an odd contrast owning both cars and if you lot wish for a comparison 'review' I'm more than happy to oblige.

That's one of the factors that swayed me towards an EP3, mine was quite cheap for the miles and condition, and yeah good shout on the bung I'm definitely using it on motorway trips cause I can't stand 100+ decibels on the motorway with the EP3s close ratio box, seems tiring enough standard after the BMW haha! I hope it comes today and this seller proves that doubt in my mind wrong, purely because I've waited over a week to get my car done!

Yeah it will be, gonna have to use the bung to get on track next year, and work out a way to make the bung look less terrible. 10am Monday morning, still no driveshaft, the guy has said if it doesn't come today he'll send me out another free of charge. I have a suspicious feeling he's just covering for himself and infact hasn't even posted it yet in the first place! Still annoyed.

Still nothing, being sent a tracking number tonight. Really getting on my nerves now, without the driveshaft I can't use the car properly etc. This has delayed me a week as I paid for it LAST Thursday when he said he'd dispatch that Friday.

Finally unwrapped the backbox section a bit, liking the look of it! Much angled exhaust, wow. Aaand the exhaust bung that keeps it under track limits (it's 98db with this bung installed, god knows without it.. will remove it for street driving then put it in as I plan to track the Japfests next year!)

I went for the black to contrast the silver as well as matches the heater controls, also because I was scared autoleads silver wouldn't match the actual dash

Yeah! Friday today and still no driveshaft, if it's not here tomorrow (he sent via Royal Fail) then dispute is being made. For you Krzys, the headunit fitment

No sign of the driveshaft today, hopefully it comes tomorrow, however this did arrive, I shall open it properly later. M2 angled 2.5" catback exhaust system, basically a replica of the buddy club pro spec 3, can't wait for Monday now!

12.50pm and the driveshaft still hasn't come, that's my slot at the garage missed. Exhaust is enroute though but if the driveshaft/halfshaft doesn't arrive tomorrow I'm opening a dispute and getting my money back

Thanks everyone, a bit annoyed at the moment as I think the seller of the halfshaft I bought is messing me about, when I booked a slot in the garage today to get it fitted. I paid them last thursday and they said they'd dispatch Friday, they didn't so I cancelled my Monday/Tuesday slot at the garage and they told me they sent it on Monday... it's now Thursday and no sign, also no tracking. So my car is booked in today for 4 new discs and pads, catback exhaust and a halfshaft, and I have no halfshaft. It makes sense for me to wait for it as the discs will have to come off to do the halfshaft anyway.. but getting really annoyed now as this is time off I've taken too.

Yeah, the K20 is a wonderful engine but unlike the B, most of its support is stateside, as the K20A2 was both in their common RSX type-S and their Civic Si. It's a shame shipping ruins things as bolt ons are so cheap in the USA compared to here, £210 for an intake for an EP3!

I think you should stop focusing on looks and start focusing on filling that void in your engine bay where the air con used to be with a TD05 . Gonna need it now in convoys buddy

After I get my catback and brakes done this week, I plan to save for eibach Pro kit for a subtle drop (only drops EP3 25/15mm) and then save up for an RBC inlet manifold and K100 ECU, that alone should bring it to the 230bhp mark when mapped with way more power mid range, as the one thing I miss from the BMW is the lazy torque (gone from 184lbft at 3k, to 142lbft at 6k)

I had a strict budget as I wasn't selling my BMW so within my budget it was either a really ropey facelift, or a decent condition pre facelift, it had to be an EP3 and it had to be nighthawk.. I travelled 190 miles to pick this one up and it was fun to say the least. My mate took me up to get it in his 1.6 golf and to say he was annoyed at having to keep up (speed limits obviously, officer) is an understatement. Lovely car to drive and will be once I've sorted out the little bits and bobs on it.

@Roj I wanna run against you at pod in this, would be good I reckon, and haha yeah the headunits awesome and the sub gets me some stares.. Thanks mate, I prefer the prefacelift too to be honest, seems angrier and is a bit raw due to less sound deadening, huge difference to the beemer as I was driving them back to back for a few days and it took a while to re adjust to either car, both have their good points and bad points though! Thanks man, for 12 years old and 105k it really is in decent nick, the steering wheel obviously shows the miles but I plan to refurb it as I do rather like the stock wheel and I don't think an aftermarket wheel would suit the type R-ness. The speakers are incredibly underpowered compared to my sub, although if I turn my sub off and just use speakers they are adequate, better than the BMWs speakers were standard anyway. The fascia was easy to fit and it doesn't fit 100% flush (top right corner pokes out maybe 1mm) but I didn't feel the need to dremel it etc as other people on forums do!

Nice seeing this take shape and I'm glad the pressed plates on my car helped sway your decision a bit, they look brilliant! Look forward to seeing this at our next meet up especially with me in my new toy, will be fun! VTEC YO!

Hi! As you may or may not know I currently own a BMW 325i SE (see build here: http://civic5.com/forum/index.php?/topic/8218-shafzzz-bmw-325i-e90-grandadspec-build/) , and although a really good daily driver and a car I'll always respect for how capable it is, at the young age of 21 I realised I'd rather have the hot hatches and the like now, and I can always own a BMW later - so I've currently SORN'd it and gone and bought.. this! My 2002 Honda Civic Type R EP3, non AC model as I wanted (weight saving), and in Nighthawk black, barely run in at just 105k miles with FSH to 96k! Upon purchasing the car, it obviously had a few niggles as every used car does, so I set about sorting them straight away. It undertook an oil and filter service a few days after I got it then whilst the common driveshaft heatshield rattle on the EP3 was addressed, I realised one of the bolts that hold the driveshafts bearing onto the car had snapped, not good, but it wasn't rattling so was temporarily fixed till I ordered a new halfshaft (arriving tomorrow). I then addressed the terrible headlight bulbs with LED sidelights from my BMW's standard headlights, and some H4 bulbs that surprisingly had survived 3 years from my first starlet back in 2011! When I bought the car it needed four new discs and pads, so I went for MTEC Grooved discs and Mintex pads as they have a sale going on currently due to having a new website, these will be fitted at the same time as the new driveshaft... Upon going to a meet in it, my car started to get louder and louder, upon further inspection the exhaust was blowing! As I'd intended to change it anyway, an M2 catback system was ordered (buddy club spec III replica) and will be fitted hopefully this week. I then had to address my biggest issue with the car. The standard audio. It was terrible, no clarity or bass, the stock speakers felt extremely underpowered and could not produce bass nor vocals at the same time. I went for the Pioneer DEH-X5600BT headunit with the black fascia for EU/EP civics (as I recommended to @Roj and he runs in his MB6 and loves it.. I think) Vibe 8AWG Wiring kit and my 'legendary' sub as I should say.. Roj can explain why. Some more pictures! Both my cars together. Autotrader advert picture of the car. Current mod list: - True 2.5" Straight Through Custom Exhaust - MTEC Grooved Discs + Mintex Pads - Red Brake Calipers - Polybushed JDM EP3 Rear Anti-Roll Bar with HardRace Droplinks - LED Lighting Upgrade - Pioneer DEH-X5600BT with some other Audio bits - Blacked out inner headlights - Not really a mod but the difference it made was incredible so Uniroyal Rainsport3 Tyres - Carbon Fibre OEM style Spoiler - 6000k HID Bi Xenons - TEIN S-Tech Lowering Springs - Honda S2000 Intake Setup - OEM Flush Mount Front Foglights - Window Tint - Alcantara Gear Gaiter - Eibach Camber Bolts and FRSU To do list: - Fit carbon fibre bonnet - Fit carbon fibre spoiler - Tint the windows - Rear Diffuser fins THE PLAN: - K100 + Map - PLM headers But yeah that's the start of the build, might take it slow as I've only had it 2 weeks.. Oi! Tbh we both did really good runs, but my runs against you as you know, the surface was utter crap, tyre temps were through the roof I could launch at 5k and still bog, same happened to our mates EG6 . Happy with how your car performed against mine at the speed limit Like this MB6 a lot and our cars both did us well as our best times were better than last and our dyno results weren't too shabby either! Run my new car at pod next time then

My mates JDM DC2 on decent tyres with intake and exhaust ran 14.2 at Pod so 14.47 from a C4 is impressive, I know @Roj ran 16.4 at 85mph, and is aiming to get into the 15's and I'm aiming to get into the 14's in the BMW, was interested to see what you've all ran

16.2 at 88 isn't bad for just 'bolt on' mods with not very good tyres, heading to pod this week and racing @Roj again, can't wait! Actually.. what's the fastest time for an MB6 non boosted/swapped 1/4 mile here? And what mods?

LOL as funny/scary as that would be, it doesn't work at speed.. I don't think.. I don't know.. I don't want to know.. I did have a friend in Sixth Form who had a habit of pulling the handbrake up for me as I drove my starlet.. made for interesting situations outside the park by college. Handbrake turns.. girls.. it's gotta work right?
