  1. New discs and pads up front. So much better. What should have been a 30minute swap ended up in a 2hour ordeal. The two phillips head screws holding the disc to the hub had seized. Both sides. Spent a lot of time with a big 'mer tying to shock them loose but all we really managed to do was almost ruin the screw heads with various screwdrivers. In the end we had to tap an oversized phillips bit in and use an extension bar to crack them loose, which worked nicely. Also, sounds like I have a blow in the exhaust somewhere towards the back. Probably the backbox seal since it's was bodged on by the previous owner. So not sure now whether to get Toyo catback or a stocker system. Still on the lookout for new shockers and springs as well! I'm terrible for pictures guys!
  2. MOT coming up again! End of August it expires. Just ordered x2 Mintex brake discs for the front with a set of Mintex pads. I could have ordered some unbranded drilled / grooved discs off of eBay but... I value my life. Car valeted last week. Got a couple pics to upload. Annoyingly a neighbour jet washed his car in the street and has covered mine in shampoo and wax which has dried sticky!
  3. Just noticed that. 14 isn't the clip that's broken :/ There's 2 parts on that assembly without part numbers on the front weatherstrip to the right of number 14
  4. For anyone interested. The product code from Lings meant nothing to Honda.. They don't stock the individual clips but were willing to sell me four complete weatherstrips for a tidy £240! I phoned Lings and they said the part was discontinued (which is why you couldn't order them) but they still had stock left. The option to buy these has been enabled and they are £1.48 + VAT + postage. So I bought 4 for £11. If you need some, now would be a good time to buy! What part would you say? I went with 13..
  5. Awesome website. Much like the Nissan4U website I used to use. Window molding / weather strip I found this diagram which shows the strip as number 4 but no white clips http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_selection_pfk.php?block_01=17ST301&block_02=B__3911&block_03=17233 I found a thread on here from 2012 where they bought white clips for £1.79 ea from Honda, but never gave the partt number
  6. Huzzah! New trims. Very good nick. Just a little dirty! Swapping over was fairly simple. All blue clips salvaged except for once which snapped. Unfortunately the small white clip broke on the passenger front trim so when the window comes up, it lifts the trim. Bummer. Might need to MacGyver something.... What are these actually called? I've Googled window trims, window seal, door trims yet results are always about the rubber seal around the windows.
  7. Appealing to the tech nerds? Another project of mine has come together. Rebuilt my PC over the weekend. New Corsair 330R case. It's badass. My first attempt at having a presentable build... opposed to just throwing it together!
  8. 4 new trims for the windows arrived today Thank you Adam! Looking forward to getting these fitted. All 4 of mine have peeled and the chrome underneath is rusty. Looks awful. These look to be a pull off / push on kinda' thing. Hoping not to have to remove all the door cards !
  9. Aye I have out a wanted ad out for some springs / shocks. Hopefully someone has something kicking about.
  10. YPFWYG. I've done some digging and most people on here vouch for Eibach. So they must be worth the extra dollary do! My car currently has lowering springs that were fitted in 2007 (I found the receipt) but the are so saggy at the back it's like driving a barge. How do the Eibach's ride? I'm not after cheap coilover spine shattering stiffness, but not after a comfy pillow either
  11. Options for lowering springs are certainly limited! Stumbled across these. Almost no info about them http://www.venommotorsport.com/product/suspension/SU41558/ Thoughts?
  12. Yup 50miles a day, 5 days a week. £220-240 a month on fuel now. Saying that, I've done 20,000 miles since I've owned the car and I've only needed to replace serviceable items. Good show.
  13. Wheww, long time since I last posted. Been exceptionally busy recently. Started a new job not long back and it has been pretty intense. I'm now doing 1,000 miles per month just commuting to work and back so the car has been put on the back burner. The increasing running costs are getting harder to justify. However, just bought some new window trims as the black had peeled off all of mine. And I'm on the lookout for some new lowering springs and shocks (Shall take a look aroiund the forum). Coilovers were intended but I don't do anything worthy of spending that much. A slightly firmer ride is all i'm after. I have purchased a new dash cam too! It was only £40 or so but the quality is great Here's a vid. Apologies for the music taste (Lack of?) http://youtu.be/EE0pKLKooIk
  14. Easily the nicest colour This is look nice. This is looking nice. But that spoiler has to go!
  15. Bone dry this morning when I got in this morning with the overnight rain. Windscreen mist cleared quickly too. For a few months the steaming has actually got worse when I flicked the heaters on. I suspect that I've had this leak for a while which was causing a soggy pollen filter
  16. So I've just got in from clearing out under the scuttle panel. I couldn't get the panel off in the dark but I was able to lift it about 6 inches which was enough room to get my hand in and scoop out most of the gunk. There's a bit left that I couldnt get but there's also a clear channel for the water to flow. Fingers crossed this works
  17. Done some investigating on my lunch break. Removed the glove box, metal bar and pollen filter. The filter was wet but not soaked Plenty of leafies and some moisture on the left side. The radiator (matrix?) on the right was cool and dry. Can't really tell but there's so water on the edge which dripped on the floor And this is the air re-circ vent. You can't tell very well but it was also a little wet I took it for a drive for 10 mins to get up to temp with the pollen filter removed. Plenty more leaves blew in my face but no water. I did take a back route to work today down a single track lane with big puddles. I didn't go tearing through but I guess I was doing 20-25 avoiding the larger ones... And it was also raining quite heavily. I'll take a look under my scuttle panel on Saturday as I don't think work would appreciate me doing repair work in the car park. Again. My question is, what would cause water to enter the air duct system by the blower? I couldn't see where it sucks fresh air from outside!
  18. Can't see why it would be. The drips are clear, don't smell. Coolant levels haven't budged and my heating is as toasty as ever. Looking around the forum, the scuttle panel seems the best place to start.
  19. Had 2 new tyres on the front Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2. In the wet they seem really good. Not convinced about the dry yet... they seem a little slippy? And I've just discovered another leak Dripping from behind the glovebox onto my passenger carpet. I'll get Googling on my break from work! Worryingly the other day I had drips on my left shoe after driving. I discovered that the water is running down behind the glovebox, along behind the dash and dripping down onto my footwell (very few drops). The fuses were wet the other day. Thankfully nothing went pop!
  20. I've had the bolts removed for the best part of this year and the resonator rattling around but one of the bolts holding the bumper on was seized and just spinning! Finally got round to sorting it out on Saturday. Had a mate try and hold it still whilst I used a ratchet to undo it. In the end the bolt snapped and the rest came out easy. In total, removing the bumper, pulling the resonator out and fitting the bumper back was 10 mins. Well happy.
  21. Aha! Finally got this stubborn thing out Plan to run a small air feed from the bumper
  22. That bloke is a genius. I love watching his videos, makes me a little smarter each time.
  23. A proper fix it to get it welded up. But 3 weeks before Xmas? New front tyres in January and also new front discs and pads. Clutch needs bleeding at the least or a new clutch as it's still factory. Any recommendations for tyres? Summer tyres of course 195/50/15. I've got Roadstones at the minute, had them about a year. Fronts are getting low-ish. The car had Falkens on the front when I got it. They were on the limit but it handled really well! Toyo T1-Rs look okay for the money, but some people have said they're "budget good tyres"?
