  1. These are T5/286 bulbs. It's what I used in my previous car. I picked them to demonstrate the flat topped LEDs Not quite sure what MBs take. I think it's a combo of T5/286 and T10/501.
  2. I've used this style before Flat tops spreads the light much more evenly
  3. For better light distribution you could opt for wedge LEDs or SMD LEDs The round ones only project light forward hence the hotspots
  4. I hope not It can have a removable baffle fitted so I might invest in one. Need to get the b****r fitted first. Powerflow is fairly local
  5. Haven't updated in a while, my bad! Work is a killer. I have been lurking though! The plans with the Toyo system fell through. There weren't any in stock and then I had some issues with money so I had to cancel. I read some varying reviews of Toyo systems which also put me off. Here's the back end debadged. Anyway, I managed to pick up a SRS G50 backbox for an EK. I'll need to get a specialist to fit it but it was fairly cheap and pretty awesome
  6. Done some debadging. They made it look a little bit tacky imo. Dental floss and isopropyl alcohol I also bought this http://www.toyosports.co.uk/96-00-honda-civic-18-vti-mb6-cat-back-catback-exhaust-25399-1110-p.asp
  7. I had one of these for a year. Worst car/engine combo I've ever driven!
  8. I don't really notice any difference until about 6k rpm :/ What's supposed to happen at 4.5k?
  9. The car was sold to a local dealer who sold it to me. He never told me about the alarm!
  10. Whilst trying to fix my rear speakers I had my head under the dash, near the steering wheel. And what do I see? MY VALET BUTTON! Configured my alarm so no more annoying auto-arm business
  11. All I can find is a manual and an installation manual and a few miscellaneous threads about issues that don't help Not as useful as you'd hope either. Can't find any pictures of the unit either.
  12. Anyone have experience with these? Mine has a Avital Maxx 1 alarm fitted. The paperwork says it was fitted back in 2003! I guess it's had no issues, it's just been configured to Mr Paranoid who owned it before. A few things are bugging me with it. Firstly, if you close the doors, it counts down 60secs then automatically arms the alarm. Damn annoying when washing the car! Supposedly there's a small "Valet" switch hidden which allows you to configure certain things... can't for the life of me figure out where it is. I found a small control box under my gear surround which controls two optional sensors. Which sensors? No idea. I turned the sensitivity down as they were on level 9000. Cats keep setting the alarm off. Whilst adjusting my pedals the other day I came across the main unit. Judging by the amount of wires and the size of the thing it looks as though I have the Cray supercomputer stuffed up behind my dash. Held in place lovingly with a zip tie. All the wires are bunched together so it's difficult to trace any. Not to mention the awkward positioning! I'm still not even sure where any of the sensors are located! There's two usually located in the A pillars. I can't see them. I know that it's wired to monitor all 4 doors, I think the handbrake, ignition, boot and bonnet. Though if I lock it and walk off, sometimes it will beep a series of times. Not alarm arming chirp, it's the warning chirp. If you bang the window it does it. I can't work out why it does it when it's locked and no one is around!? If you stand near the wing mirrors, the same happens. I do have my dash cam stuck to my windscreen, maybe the sensors can detect something there? I'll remove and re-test. General locking / unlocking / immobilising works without issue. Would I recommend this piece of dog turd to a friend? No.
  13. New air filter for the factory airbox on its way and also a new pollen filter Heater flow is pretty poor. Had a quick look and the pollen filter seems pretty gummed up! Tasty. Adjusted the clutch pedal travel and topped up some more power steering fluid! It's dripping straight out the rack so a replacement rack is on the cards too.
  14. Okay i'm not worried now! The clutch is heavy. Well, feels heavy to me. i'm only 58KG and pressing the clutch actually lifts me out the seat slightly. i'll look into getting the system bled.
  15. The car is on 90k It doesn't seem judder in reverse. Only pulling in first. If the flywheel was slightly warped I should imagine it'd do it in every gear change. The clutch biting point seems fairly low and doesn't slip even on VTEC. It judders the most when cold if I release the clutch too much with little gas. I had it under control without issue for the past few weeks but adjusted my seat yesterday as I felt too far away and the issue has returned. It's worth noting that if I lift the clutch slowly with no gas in a car park for example, it doesn't judder. I think it could just be me being a wimp with the gas pedal. I picked up a bad habit of pulling away with very very little.
  16. Hi all, 1) I think I have an issue with my clutch. When pulling away from cold in 1st it sometimes judders. And if I release the pedal a little too far, it can judder quite a lot. It feels like a wheelspin. I can control it but it feels like i'm riding the clutch.. I did do some searching and it seemed fairly common on Hondas and people stated all sorts such as the "clutch needed to warm up". Any suggestions? 2) The clutch pedal also had a lot of slack. I tightened up the pedal lock nut last night and it needed to be adjusted all the way! This seems a little odd. Could it just need bleeding and fresh fluid? I'm losing about an inch of pedal travel. The car had a new slave cylinder fitted before I bought it. I checked the fluid in the small reservoir and it's brimmed. This is my first experience with a hydraulic clutch so forgive me if any of this is stupid.
  17. How tricky was it to remove the door card? I have some 6.5" Sonys waiting to be installed
  18. Not much doing at the minute I took of the AEM induction kit today and replaced with the standard airbox assembly. The VTEC bwarp novelty is going to get me into trouble sooner or later. I'm not convinced the filter is doing much filtering at all looking at the inside of the induction piping! Anyway, I'm eyeing this up http://www.toyosports.co.uk/96-00-honda-civic-18-vti-mb6-cat-back-catback-exhaust-25399-1110-p.asp I see the same/similar on eBay for £70 cheaper? Any reason? I'm also looking to stiffen up the gearstick a bit. There's quite a bit of lateral movement when in gear which I'd like to stop. Is there new bushes or a poly bush kit you can fit? This'd be ideal to fit along with the catback. Since the zorst will be dropped anyway it's just a case of removing the shields. Coilovers are still on my to-do list! I really want MeisterRs but the £700+ price tag is making me feel uneasy. I'm much more comfortable with £500. I can't seem to find any decent alternatives for the MB6. I don't really want EG/EK coilovers either which limits my options. And after my little bump the other day I bought a cheap dash cam. How cheap? 20 quid In my opinion, with a camera it could've been viewed as a 50/50 claim. My friend also had a front end bonk (Not his fault!) and the other drive drove off. I uploaded the video in 720p for anyone who is interested in getting a dash cam. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qy1mAG9HNZQ Oh the joys
  19. Okay had to cancel my 10am baptism. Had a lapse of concentration this morning and side swiped a Fiesta ZetecS (New one!). Owner was vexxed to start with as you could imagine. After a few minutes of chatting he calmed down, rubbed off what he could and it wasn't too bad. Managed to convince him to let me sort it out. He was a nice fella. Had a company round today to do an estimation and it's costing me a fair bob. Bummer. but far better than insurance getting involved! Certainly not the worst, but it's taken the paint off down to the bare plastic.
  20. I would've just squashed the badger personally I always win against wildlife.
