Bonjour! Been a while, lots of life stuff going on and I hate to say that the civic has been neglected a bit. After the exhaust rotted in half, it had remained parked up, until last night! Thanks to an absolutely awesome member on here - JK1245 (not sure how to tag) I managed to get a total stainless cat back system for absolutely free! Just had to collect from Manchester. I picked it up on Wednesday and was shocked at the condition, mint! The system appears to be J Perfornance and has a small straight through centre silencer and a huge 5" tip rear jap can, perfick! So after purchasing some bits, exhaust paste, grinding discs, new safe axle stands (mine looked like they'd been under sea water for about 11 years) my friend Steve came over and we got to work. Now I knew the straight through that was on it was a total mess and a bodge and I also knew I would need to make up a decat. To do so Steve lopped the old cup off, sleeved it with a section of 2 inch and welded it back to the stainless. Working in the street unfortunately! Welding in the street! Sorry neighbours The rest of the system bolted together and offered up pretty good. The rear box is a bit awkward and I've had to hack a large chunk of bumper recess out but I think it looks pretty good The exhaust is such an improvement. Not only is it much less restrictive than the pea shooter straight through with about 439 blows and holes in it, it's got an awesome deep tone and still sounds loud and raw on vtec. Perfect balance. Mrs still doesn't approve mind..... Also added some stupid stickers. I love stickers I've been in contact with a bloke breaking mbs and im due to pick up a load of spares to start tidying this heap up

Cheers Dave Thanks for the heads up with Sky, funnily enough a friend of mine recommends them too as he's used them for various stupid and modified cars. Sure he has a policy where any mods are fair game and won't make a difference unless you double stock horsepower or something.

Yeah having given it some thought the civic will stay I think. Gonna tidy it up a touch, fit this new (to me) exhaust and jobs a goodun. Insurance and running costs of a gs would be too much. Just been ordering and waiting for stupid stickers. I love stickers haha

That said, I have an exhaust lined up from a properly nice member on here I'm due to collect which should make the civic more bareable. I'm a little torn to be honest. So insurers are being total arseholes recently and are backing out of insuring my b18 swap without garage proof, sign off etc etc. livid. So I'm gonna have to change insurers, recommendations? I've been told to try brentacre. Decided to go for a hoon last night while buying some milk and then washed it tonight. Polishing a turd springs to mind I get paid tomorrow so a couple of things on the shopping list: Found a full stainless system off an mb6 to butcher Buy 2 front wings Paint bonnet black? Thoughts? Paint spoiler black and refit, thoughts?

Hi gents, I can't take the straight pipe anymore! I've been offered a full system he claims is off mb6 so I'm hoping it will fit my mb3. Does this look like an mb6 system route (backbox on right)

Annoyed I can't go to japfest this year however I cannot miss child birth so I can't complain The Mrs waddled off to a girl lunch so I arranged to go for a summer drive with Steve and his mx5. This 5 started out stock, then Steve turbod it, then ripped everything out for a rotary conversion, then sold it, then bought it back this year with a shot rotary lump and now it's back to a stock 1.6 4 pot on throttle bodies. Sounds rad. Anyway we went for a drive down some a and B roads into the country. I love that within 5 mins of my house you've escaped into countryside only for it to be ruined by the sound of Vtec. I say ruined, it sounds insane this thing does. We pulled over to take a couple pics on the way back, I have managed to knacker my handbrake though. Not snapped a cable and I've tried adjusting it behind the lever but no good

I've ordered a couple of tyres for the mazda, but oh no they won't be here for a few days due to stock so i'll have to daily the civic Wasn't planned at all! P.s Congrats Chandler on COTM. So thought I'd do a little update from today's antics. For once, the civic didn't need any immediate attention for once, so if you're after civic updates turn over now haha. However the day was still car related..... As I mentioned in my first post, my first son is due within a weekish so things are a little tense. Me and the wife attempted a day out to a local nice town for some lunch etc, however on route the Mrs was complaining of increasing braxton hicks and back ache, so I turned around and bombed home expecting the start of labour...... False alarm. She ended up kicking me out the house so she could nap, so I went to visit my mates Ian and Steve in the civic. Ian dailies a tweaked AW11 1989 Toyota mr2 and its so so cool. He has over heating issues last week and after changing the rad etc it turned out to be head gasket worse still, after stripping the block it turns out where the gasket had failed, the block had corroded! Thankfully Ian had been building up a seperate engine on a stand for a turbo build so could swap it in. So rad change ended up with total engine swap. I helped out with the rebuild for the day until the wife called me home. She decided she wanted to go mooch around the huge tesco near us this evening and as she refuses to go in the civic we took my Mazda daily. When we returned and I parked up I heard a huge hissing noise, FLAT! I whipped the space saver on and checked the tyre over...... Frightening! Especially as we had just been on the dual track for 15 miles total! Sorry for the boring update, hope you all had a good Saturday??

Thanks all for the welcome and kind words. I hope to keep this all updated the best I can. The exhaust does need binning yeah, it's on the list to have it booked in for a stainless down pipe back system. There is no cat in it at the mo and I don't plan too add one. I may add a silencer though........may.........a small one....... Possibly

Jesus this thing is beautiful. Makes me want a deck so bad haha!
