  3. Adrian Flux Spring Forum Competition Hello We feel it’s time for another competition for April and May, but this time with a very unique prize up for grabs for all you car fans out there. Chances are if you’ve been to a car show or event in the last few years, you would have seen Ian from http:/www.popbangcolour.com/ creating stunning artwork with the help of his remote control cars. If not, give his website a look! Well, normally Ian’s artwork is reserved for the big manufacturers and hang proudly in their HQ’s but for Adrian Flux, Ian has kindly agreed to commission a piece of artwork for the winner of our comp. The final piece of artwork will be 2 and a half metres long by 1 and a half metres tall, so not small. The piece can be of any car the winner decides but it must be a car. So, here’s how to enter: Using no more than 250 words on this post reply, describe the car you would like Pop Bang Colour to paint for you and why it holds a special place in your heart. This could be your first car, your dream car, basically any car that has a back story. From all entries across the forums this competition post is featured, 2 people from the Adrian Flux Forum team and Ian himself will select the winning entry they feel is the most original and interesting. 2 runners up will win a print of their choice from http://www.popbangcolourshop.com https://twitter.com/Popbangcolour https://www.facebook.com/popbangcolour https://www.instagram.com/popbangcolour/ Good luck. Rules: 1 entry per person only No insurance quotation necessary Open to both current and non Adrian Flux customers The competition is open from 9am 31st March until 9am 31st May 1 winner and two runners up will be selected from all entries from all participating forums and announced at the start of June 2016. The winner will be contacted via PM on the forum. Should there be no reply after 7 days; a different winner will be selected. UK residents only https://www.adrianflux.co.uk/corporate/competition/tac-standard.php

Click the "Add images" button 3. In the "select category" window, choose "Showcase Car Photos" 4. Now click "Choose files" 5. Click on the photo on your pc you want to upload. 6. Click "Continue". 7. 10. How to display your photos in a post. NOTE: For uploading photos direct to the forum, the limit is 5mb per post. So 1 photo that is 5mb, or two photos that are 2.5mb each and so on. You can easily add photos to your post! When creating a topic, Look at the bottom left corner of the box. You will see "Attach Files". Click the "choose files" button next to it to upload your photos from your computer to the forum. Then next to each uploaded photo, click the "add to post" button. Simples! If on the other hand you have photos stored on a site like photobucket etc that you want to show, you can do it the following way. Your photo will be given various URL's (links) by photobucket etc, Its these links that you need, as these are what you post on the forum. The forum will then recognize the link as a photo/image link, and display your photo here on the site. Ok, now the instructions. 1. Choose the photo you want to show. 2. Upload the photo to a photo hosting site, such as http://www.photobucket.com (you may have to register on whatever site you choose to host your photos.) 3. Once logged into your photo hosting site, you will see a list of "URL's" (links) next to your photo. The one you need is the "Direct link" (Photobucket images only) 4. Copy the "Direct link" url of your photo, and paste it into your post on civic5. 5. Done!! That was easy!
  11. Just about to watch the race highlights. Will be interesting to see how channel 4 host it this year! The new qualifying format has proved to be an epic FAIL! Drivers and team bosses are already calling for it to be changed! Oh the drama!!
  12. Hello One and All, I am a brand new member living near to Bath, UK and have always been hugely enthusiastic about motorcars and Japanese Motorcycles. I hesitate to rush in where angels fear to tread, but am I permitted to enquire about another Make and Model, where parts no longer available/hard to source reliably may be interchangeable with, say, a Honda Civic? Front brake caliper carriers for example?
  13. I've been looking at all ways to swap my engine with obd1 B series I was told my car was obd2b can't remember who or where think it was Facebook, so I ordered jumper harness obd1-obd2b but looked at my ecu and it only has 3 plugs as does the obd1 part of the jumper! But my dizzy has one big plug so I'm sure that's obd2? I thought I had it all ready to go and swap it soon but now I'm even more confused, anyone help please thanks

  15. Hi guys, just picked up my mb6 and I noticed on the test drive and drive home that it's stiff selecting gears. I thought it was maybe the bottom bolt on the short shifter being tight but I just checked and it's ok. It has a short throw as expected but just stuff selecting gears. Any ideas?

    new forum

regarding the new forum. if might be nice if the pictures on each of the links to the threads were clickable rather than just the title
  17. Well, it's taken longer than we thought, but we're back! We have carried out a major upgrade to the forum to the very latest IPS 4 platform, which has also seen us upgrade our server too. So why upgrade? Well, as we have found, a lot of our members are visiting the forum using tablets and mobile phones. The problem being, our old forum wasnt any good on those devices, with no photo upload features available etc. So it wasn't very future proof. Plus, it was looking, well, old and crap! This new forum has the perfect platform for mobile users, because all the features you use in the full screen version are right there in the mobile/tablet versions too. The whole layout is different too, looking very slick. the gallery is also back! This time it's open to all members, and the most recent photos are shown across the top of the forum. So your car could be there for all to see! We still have our regular Members Cars section for more detail about your car so keep the project threads going! Oh, did we say that you can also upload Videos in the gallery too? lol Yes, you can also show off videos now. Hand with the summer approaching and the meets all starting! We're still working on a few things in the forum so other pages etc will start to appear as we go along. You may find the forum is running a bit slower at the moment as it's got a load of background tasks running which is recompiling all the posts, topics and media. If you find any errors, let us know! So, we hope you like the new forum and enjoy using it. We've invested big time in our goal of taking civic5 forward, but it's all worth it. So have fun and get posting! Dave
  18. You can "Tag" members in the forum just like you do on Facebook and other social media sites. Here's how! 1. In the topic you want to let them know about, click the reply button. 2. Now add the "@" sign to your post. 3. Start typing the members username and a box will appear. Select the members name from the box. The members name will be highlighted in blue. (see Image) 4. Then add whatever text you want to your post before submitting it like you normally do. Or no text at all, it's up to you! 5. Click submit. Done! The member will get a notification telling them they've been tagged and a link to the post.
  19. Our new Video Gallery App is a great feature for sharing your favourite videos. Like the Photo Gallery, it displays all the videos with thumbnails (small images) in a grid layout gallery. Making it easy to browse all the videos the we have here on Civic5! When you post a video in the Video app, it is instantly displayed in the forums main page too (in the side bar, latest videos) so means everyone will be able to see it and view it. It's very easy to use, just follow this simple guide. (mobile version of this guide will follow shortly) 1. Go to Youtube (or which ever site your video is on) and copy the URL (the address in your browsers address bar).(see Image below) 2. Go back to the forum, and look at the menu bar. Click on the "Video" tab. 3. The gallery will open. Click on the "Add Video" button. 4. A pop up box will appear. Click on "Select" 5. Choose the category to put your video in. We chose "Videos". Now click "Continue". 6. Now we add details for your video. First we add a name for our video. 7. The "Media type" box we leave as it is. The Media URL is where we put the URL to our video (the link we copied earlier). The "Add extra videos option we leave as it is. 8. Now we add in text like we would do in a normal post in the forum. Can be what ever you like. 9. Click the submit button....................job done! Your video will be added to the Video Gallery! Now that you understand how to upload a video, there's an even quicker way to do it! Just look at the top of the forum, and click the "Create" button. This gives you a drop down menu for creating topic, video, gallery etc. For adding videos to video gallery on your phone, see this How to guide >>> CLICK
  20. Ok, now we're on the new forum, it's time to update how things work! Got a video on YouTube or similar site that you want to share with everyone here? Here's how to add a video to your post. 1. Start a topic/make a post. 2. Go to YouTube, or where ever the video is hosted. In your browsers web address bar, copy the URL from the web address bar. 3. Now back to your post. Right click and select "Paste". Your link will appear for a few seconds, then the video will appear. 4. Add your text. 5. Click submit button. Your video will now be displayed automatically in your post. Easy! OR..... Why not use our Video Gallery app! It's easy to use, and you can be sure everyone will see your video. The latest videos added to it also appear on the forum index page. 1. To add a video to the video app, just go to the main menu, select "Browse/Videos" You will see the video app and all the videos other members have posted. 2. Click "Add Video". 3. Just follow the on screen instructions. There's just 4 easy steps! Done! Also, if you add videos using our video app, all your videos appear on your profile page! So members browsing your profile will see all the videos you've added too. Bonus! We would always recommend using the Video App for all your videos!
  21. Ok, since we're on a brand new platform, I think we need a list of the most common tips for browsing the forum. You can add things you've found that make it easier and I'll add them to the list below. Searching & Activity: Finding content. 1. Latest Post. When browsing the forum, to go to the latest post on any topic, click on the "time" the last post was made (Circled in green, see image 1 + 2) and to go to topics first post, click on the bit circled in blue (see image 1 + 2)(Click images to zoom in). 22. Civic5 opens it's brand new forum today at 5pm. Hope to see you all there!
  23. Hi all! I'm looking for advice or guidance on what others have done with regards to wheel arch extensions on the Civic 5 door? I'm not happy with my mud flaps so need to combat the issue in a different way. If there's a post already running then let me know
  24. Ok, this is to help anyone who might not know how to post photos on the web. Here's how to post pictures on this site. This How To is also used to display an image in your signature (the bit underneath all our posts) To change your sig, go to the top right of the page, click your username to see the dropdown menu, and select "Account settings". You will then see a new page, and on the left side, a menus bar. Fifth one down is "signature". Click on it, and you will see a box where you can fill in what you want in your signature. If you want a photo in it, click the "Choose files" button and choose a photo from your pc/device. Once it has uploaded the photo, click the small "add" symbol on the photo and it will add it to your signature. You can also use photos hosted elsewhere such as photobucket. To use one of these, visit your image on photobucket etc and copy the url of the image. Paste the url into the signature box. Now click "save changes" and you're done! Please note, maximum size of sigs are 600 x 100px NOTE: For photobucket images, you need to use the "direct link" option on photobucket. Dave
  25. Hello folks. As you may have noticed, I've been away from the site for a bit, which is going to be the norm for a long time. For those who know my wife and best friend Dawn (aka crazzzydawn) and I personally, you will already know how Dawns health has been the last 2 years. She's spent god knows how long in hospital for different things, most of which have been very serious. The last time she was in was due to cancer. She had a major op to remove the cancer (was like 4 major ops in one) and she came through it. Unfortunately, since the original op, she has been ill with numerous things, most of which the doctors/nurses were not sure of what the cause was. She has been anemic since before her cancer op (which the doctors thought would rectify with that op) and this has caused a lot of other related illness. She got admitted to hospital 2 weeks ago as an emergency case, as her temp was at a critical level. They have done loads of tests on her, and she has been more ill then ever before. They also did a biopsy, which has come back showing the cancer is back. Sadly, it's untreatable this time. On top of this she has the complications of a serious infection. She got home from hospital today, and it's now a matter of time. We know she doesn't have long, but at least she's now home where she wants to be, and is comfortable. This is the hardest thing I have ever faced in my life, because Dawn is my whole life. She's been there for me through everything that life has thrown at both me and her, and although most guys wont openly say this about there other half, I can honestly say with pride that Dawn is and always will be my true love. Shes the most beautiful person both inside and out, warm, friendly, funny, honest and totally loveable. I really have been lucky to have known her and been together with her for over 20 years. I didn't realize just how lucky I've been. She's my soul mate, and even helped me get civic5 up and running. Shes given me constant support for everything related to the club, which was initially a whim/hobby/pipe dream for me. I really don't know how or if I will cope when the inevitable happens, so that's another reason I've handed control of civic5 over to Dave and Sarah (DAVEMB2 & SarahFR) for the time being. I know the club is in the best hands with them, so you know things won't change here on your fav site. The membership scheme has been put on hold again (sorry) so please dont pay for membership as it may be a while before a refund can be issued. If I can set things up (and if they are ok with it) I'll try and get things arranged so that dave and sarah can handle the membership/club account side of things. Just depends on what if any free time I have. If you have any problems with the site, or any Q's, please let them know. After today I wont be available to answer PM's or email enquiries as I'm spending what time Dawn has left by her side. For anyone who knows Dawn (and her deck!), you'll know how big a loss she is going to be. Kind regards, Dave & Dawn
