dr_broon
Sounds like the best plan since you know that the box is a good one. 4.9 will make a huge difference, but your revs will be much higher in 5th on motorway speeds etc. Mfactory used to have a gear calculator on their website.. You can add the ratios for the s9b from the link on the above to see what revs you'll be doing at what speeds for different final drives.
dogg1210
Well the bloody car started today and revs went straight to 1500rpm and won't drop then when driving it's hitting limiter at 4000rpm!!! Ecu light on too :@
burbleboy
Wtf? Has the ecu been disturbed at all?
dogg1210
Not touched anything bud revs sit at 2k on idel so hopefully just a sensor or something
burbleboy
Maybe someone on here can shed a light?Failing that, refit the old ecu to test if ecu fecked. My mechanic mate did a wire bypass on the P28 to eliminate the oil pressure sensor to make P28 work right (common mod). Hopefully old ecu should not need that reversed but would be a simple job if needed to be done.
dogg1210
Putting it into garage tomorrow so hopefully he'll find out what's up with it hoping it's just a sensor gone bad
dogg1210
Just tried the 2 pin connector to see if I could get code but nothing happens dono of its coz of different ecu
dr_broon
Should still be able to read the code from the ecu by bridging the pins and counting the flashes with the p28
dogg1210
Bridged it turned on but no flashes mechanics got it tomorrow so hopefully he'll find out. Just with it idle high I'm hoping it's a sensor of some sort putting it into limp mode
burbleboy
Your mind will be at rest knowing that it hasn't happened before and isn't a fault that rears it's head every now and then
