  1. I think it is to be honest, the worn parts suggest as much wheel bearings and the fact it needed a new clutch would point to Motorway driving and the fact he service it regularly. I have another engine if needed anyway, im expecting the stem seals to give in, in the not so distant future but at present no smoke what so ever. glad I caught you off guard Ha Ha.....

Went on easy enough, fired her up and the light was off Drove to the end of the road and it comes back on Started her up today it was off Half way to work, comes back on Not sure what to do, my friend at the garage said you can plug something in to the ABS sensor plug to see if that's where the fault lies, cant remember what its called though a somethingascope!? Will get it sorted at some point... Anyway here's an obligatory photo up on the lift

  3. Sold my old mb6 vtis (prior to this one) through the Facebook page today. Someone put a wanted advert for a black vti. In a moment of madness I offered my car and he came down and ripped my arm off! I let go at a reasonable price and it was sat doing nothing for the past month or so.

  4. If I had known I'd have been without the car for a month at the time I'd have bought the better stuff knowing I wouldn't need to keep back the money, was bad enough the brakes ate into my holiday spending money! Luckily being even tighter I managed to make up for it!

  8. Never really heard anything, good or bad, about brembo pads .. Ive genuinly not really heard a word, whcih may well be a bad thing .. Discs, pukka, calipers, pukka, just not really known for their pads .. Would have defo done the fluid .. That will eliminate the fade completely !

  11. To be honest it's not that noticeable unless you're looking at it straight on. Then it looks bad, like on the photos i just posted, but honestly how many of you noticed that it was off center in the older photos? It's been like that for 4 months. But yeah you're right, it NEEDS to be centered! Not really, luckily I had a friend who had done it before. My job was to give constant heat (but not too much!) to make sure paint wouldn't chip, which i've heard is the biggest.problem you encounter doing this. Thorough clean from the inside, proper heat and slow & steady roll is the way to go. I respect everyone with a midspoiler on their decks, but for me it's just too much! What i might do one day is go for a totally different rear bumper, since it never really liked the vti-s rear lip. Time will tell... I thought the bumper strip was stock on the 1.8 model? Never really paid attention to this on other decks but cool to know i have something rare! By the way has anyone ever noticed the mini car phone aerial on the back of my roof? The plate photos were actually taken before the new exhaust so everything is still big loud n' shiny! But i have to admit that for long distance driving it's simply too loud . The low note on highwayspeeds of 60-80 mph gets drilled into my brain after a while! Luckily i very rarely have long drives but in the long run i think i'll change the exhaust. Maybe do a exit on both sides and a muffler on each ...? Haven't seen that too often!

  17. It's not major issues. More niggles then problems, some of the issues are just due to the fact it was stood for a while. Just annoying mainly as I don't do a lot of mechanicals myself and trying to find a decent mechanic is impossible around here. My friend who is into cars helps me out with bits. I've got arch shields now so probably fix them tomorrow and the screws for the steering cowling. Clutch seems to be holding up as I have given it some stick. Think the hot days cause it to slip. On the cold nights it's been fine. Wanted to lower it a bit more but the door is barely above the pavement and exhaust scrapes on ramps. Probably get the centre box looked and see if the exhaust guy can fit a slim profile one. Nothing to feel bad about sue. The car was a great purchase at the price. This is the thing with cars, the roads around here are not very good and luckily it's been small expenses. A lot of comments on it and attracts a lot of looks, especially the younger children. Had some guys asking me how comes it's so shiny. Unfortunately due to the weather and my neighbour doing some building work. It's a bit grubby at the minute. My friend who is into cars lent me his polisher and gave me some clay to get it cleaned up but I think il give it a while before I start any more polishing work as the car is seeing a lot of use at the minute. Probably do a few bits before the end of the year,
