Hey all men, women and children Im mick from fife scotland, been hunting out an aerodeck (hopefully got one) so going to be an active member i recon browsing lots of how too's and picking a few brains lol (already drained away daves will to live with all my questions so far lol and his handywork on the double din project) Not a young chap so not needing a vti ...... tho dont think you need an excuse to have one as from what ive seen they are pretty awesome in every way Looking to get out and about in a 1.6 auto but will do wee mods here and there with all you lucky people advise Thanks all Mick

Yeah, I'm deffo staying clear of it to mate. I deff wouldn't put it in you VTiS, like you say, she's tuned for the 99 so best to keep her on that. Not sure what other damage this E10 might do that will no doubt come out in time. Think you're right, ecu reset might have helped with the mpg. lol Its funny, first time I saw a car with a plastic fuel tank I thought "jeese! that is dangerous!" but looking back I think they are far better than the metal ones. Wonder if we'll be able to eventually get a platric one for our civics (seeing as the metal ones are already like gold dust new)

I'm pretty sure that ours use PGMFI, but after all the fuel system leaks I've had over the years I'm staying with super unleaded - use it most of the time anyway. Tesco 99 is usually a decent price. I knew that the Mpg was supposed to be worse, but didn't realise it would be that bad! I remember my first car, was a little 205 and that ended up with a tank leak - the new tank was plastic and I thought it was a much better idea. That was back in the 90s. Also ran on 4 star

I've gotta be honest I won't be touching the stuff. Sure it's fine not being weird. Just cars mapped on super and it sits around for ages at a time. And ya said about metal fuel tank etc. So your getting roughly half your normal mpg @Dave? I wonder if the old ECU reset might help?

Ok, a bit of history on the club, and where it all began. The club name was derived from obviously the name of the car, which is "Civic", and the "5" because it is soley for the "5 door". Civic5 originally started in January 2009, on a freeforum and freewebsite domain. Our original name was civic-5 and we were located at this web address http://civic-5.yolasite.com (was originally "synthasite" until taken over by Yola) .Our forum was hosted by youforum.co.uk, again another free site. We were not sure how the club would be received at first, but it became apparent quite quickly that there was indeed a call for a club like ours, and our member-base quickly grew. We had considered buying a proper domain and going onto a proper subscription server, but still weren't sure if the site warranted that. So in Feb 2009, we started our sister site HONDACLUB-UK. This was initially started as a backboard for promoting civic5, as a lot of Honda owners knew people who had civic M's, so would be able to spread the word about civic5. We reckoned we would get more people joining an all Honda site as opposed to a one type dedicated site. So we decided to go for a proper domain and hondaclub-uk.com was born! By April 2009, civic-5 was busy as ever, and we were actually outgrowing the website and forum! We also outgrew Hondaclub-uk, so that site we retired just over a year later. With Civic5, we wanted to be able to have our own design on the forum and the site, a custom theme and logo that would instantly identify with civic5! So the decision was made to get civic-5 onto a proper domain, and a top notch server host. Through contacts in i.t., and also one of my family members, we found a company for hosting our site. So April 2009, civic-5 changed, and civic5.com was born. We went through several custom designs (those who have been with us from the start will remember all the different logos, colours etc we've had!! ), until we reached what we have now.
