must admit... my abs is intermittent, and has been for a few.years... more often of than on....

I don't see the orange light on the dash any more :D

Yer can you not have no abs . 1.4 and1.5 do have abs but not all coz i do not :lol::lol: so you going to get red of Vicks and get an other mc1 is that the plan . What happens if the abs goes on the next deck rob

Is it worth a quick search on CL for one breaking before you strip her down?

I've got two abs sensors you can have. There fronts. The rears unfortunately I cut

pm me what you want for them buddy ;)

There you go then, you could also try 10000rpm on here, he's usually got a few he's breaking. :idea:

i put a request in for abs sensors from him ages ago and he said he would get back to me if there was any for sale ;)

:o:shock::( why not just take the whole abs system out and disable the light on the dash :?:

that way you can keep her for no money spent :D happy days

i spoke to an mot tester and he said if it came from the factory with it it must have it for the mot(dont know how much of that was bull) bui cant take the risk buddy

how do you get around the mot...??? i thought about taking the bulb out but the light must go on then off for the mot :roll:

the one ive looked at dave passed the aa inspection and even if i did need sensors in the future i dont think it would need 3 at once :lol: plus the other deck needs no body work has just had water pump and timing belt done and as said ive got stuff every where for the car so i dont really want to get anything other than the d16 so yeah it would be a mc1 ;)

mot tester is technically correct but only if part of the system remains if you remove everything pump,sensors ,rings ,dash light every last bit of abs system and bypass pipes by using pipe connectors back into main system it then becomes a non abs car and must be tested as such as per mot regs :ugeek: (i used to be a tester)

so i take it i would just run the brake lines back into the servo/master cylinder with Tpieces....??? and would i need to go front left rear right rear left front right...???? would the car then pass if everything was removed...???

yes mate you need to make sure you remove every last bit of the abs system though. the mot rules state that abs must be fitted to a standard car of its type if you remove the whole system and make it a basic brake system then your car is no longer standard and must be tested as a modified vehicle. i have done the same with a car a few years ago a mates abs pump went and it was too expensive to replace so ripped the whole lot out took it back for a retest and the tester had to pass it although he wasnt happy :lol:
