I always had to use one, just to lift the car onto trolley jack. Was so low couldndt just slide one under.

but seriously I've had a mates car slip off one and had to about break my neck holding car while got something to stop it. Nightmare and never again. Especially now it seems to be a common story. That's tellin me something

Those original car jacks are really widow makers, never put even your toes under the car when using those on some emergency situation :/

I have only got car to fall from that kind of jack once, but luckily all wheels were in place.. No one should use those, cheapest 2 ton hydraulic trolley jacks are like 20 euros and those are hundred times more stable than those boot jacks. [smash.gif]

I remember many years ago my dad was using a fairy worn trolley jack on a Saab 9000 Turbo we had, jacked it up and turned around to get an axle stand and we heard a "pop" and then saw the car making it's way to the ground, the jack had gone! [smash.gif]

I have this problem too, have to use the boot jack to make space for the trolley to slide under the front. [smash.gif]
